Chapter 544 A Mountain Of Primitive Stones (Part One)
From the start, Darren had had the upper hand in this battle, thanks to the divine weapons. Not only did
it boost his strength, but it also suppressed that of the demon. He was about as powerful now as a five-
star grand warrior at the top level.
The demon''s chest heaved as he tookborious breaths, and his eyes shed with brutal ferocity. He
was never one to gracefully ept defeat.
"You lowlife. I cannot believe you would stoop to using those divine weapons to suppress me. How
unspeakable and shameful of you!"
The demon took a moment to grind out these wrathful words. As soon as he was done, though, he did
something that was way beyond Darren''sprehension.
In a fast, deliberate motion, he lifted a razor-sharp finger and jabbed it into his own head. Moaning and
grumbling painfully, he dragged his hand downward, making a wound that traveled all the way down his
middle.
With further hideous noises, the demon tore at his own chest, the two halves of his face twisting and
twitching until he''d atst pulled himself in two.
But as soon as the two pieces hadpletely separated, they began to regenerate, reforming until
now two whole demons stood, ready forbat.
Darren''s face was screwed up in disgust as he observed this revolting spectacle. ''Well, damn! That
was gross. I''ve never seen anything like that before!'' Nevertheless, he wasn''t particrly rmed.
After all, he was sure he could handle two demons about as easily as one.
However, to his shock and dismay, the two newly-formed demons immediately began to tear at
themselves just like the one before, intending to repeat the process of generating more avatars.Têxt ? N?velDrama.Org.
"Shit! This looks really bad for me!" Darren eximed.
Now he was no longer so confident. If those two demonspleted this process, he would have to
face four of them at once, which was more than even he could handle.
His glorious sword hissed as he drew it.
Without hesitation, Darren threw himself at his adversaries. He could not allow them to finish
multiplying again!
A golden light wreathed his divine weapons. Taking no chances, he called on all of his power now,
which was far greater than that of themon premium de intent and sword intent.
"Die, whelp!"
shouting this, one of the demons defensively raised his massive ws.
"Try and block this!" Darren retorted as he closed in.
His de whirled in a storm of attacks, sending the demon backpedaling in a hasty retreat.
But the contest was over in mere seconds.
Not only did Darren have strong de and sword intents, but his olive-ck force and dark gold
internal force were equally powerful. When he used all of these abilities at once, few indeed could
withstand his attack!
While the demon was still reeling under the assault of the de and sword intents, Darren sted him
with his olive-ck force and dark gold internal force at the same time. The next thing he knew, there
was a long, bloody stain on the floor where the demon used to be.
Without stopping to gloat, Darren rounded on his other foe, who was still trying to split himself in two.
Speed was critical here. Strong as Darren was, he couldn''t keep exerting himself like this for very much
longer.
Before even closing the distance, he sted another full-on barrage.
The ground shook as mystical energies surged through the air.
Meanwhile, the demon had almost torn himself into two pieces. While the process was still iplete,
he was in no position to defend himself.
"Gah! How could I lose to a lowlife such as you?!" he screamed in agonized frustration as the st
began to reach him.
His furious, hateful re would have struck terror into almost any mortal man.
All it did was annoy Darren, though. "Just die already!"
With that, he shed through the tear the demon had created, cutting him all the way in two. Before
either piece could move, he cut through them as well with another swing of his sword.
Reduced to bloody chunks of flesh, the demon copsed, finally dead for good.
Sheathing his sword, Darren looked away from the grisly sight. Straight away, something on the ground
nearby caught his eye. It was a small, glittering purple bead.
"Now, what''s this? Where did ite from?" he asked himself. Thinking it might be something of value,
he went over to take a closer look.
A familiar, panicked voice interrupted him. "Stop right there! Don''t touch it!"
Darren stopped as Anna came out of nowhere andnded right in front of him, blocking his path.
"You can''t possibly be this stupid!" she went on. "If you take that thing and keep it on you, I assure you
that you will die a very horrible death. It''s no joke!"
"Are you serious?" asked Darren, frowning. "What makes it so dangerous?"
"The Starry Tower is a ce full of temptations and traps," the youngdy exined, "and this purple
bead is one of them, set for those who are greedy and insatiable. If you so much as touch that thing,
you will be poisoned with an incurable drug and your flesh will melt away over the course of three days
before you finally die. Doesn''t sound very pleasant, does it?"
"What kind of poison is this? Can it really be that strong?" Darren knew for a fact that he was tough,
and it was hard to believe that any mere poison could even prate his skin. Besides that, he wasn''t
going to take anything Anna told him at face value.
She shrugged at him. "You don''t believe me, do you? I can see it in your eyes. You know what? Go
ahead and touch it. See for yourself. But before you do, you should know that that bead can even kill
someone at a much higher level than yourself. Someone like this demon you just killed, or someone
who has reached the Holy Realm!"
