Chapter 800 Youth
"Chief is here!" A scream from the outside interrupted them.
All of them nearly jumped out of their seats and peered out.
Before their eyes was a charming figure who elegantly stepped into the hall. Every move showed the
obvious sign of someone who came from a big n.
Even Mary couldn''t drag her eyes away from the lithe figure d in elegant white clothes, it looked like
it was shining on her smooth skin and made her look even more charming. Though her delicate face
held no smile, her willow-leaf brows and sylphlike eyes sent shocks down people''s spine with every coy
blink. Everyone was besotted and couldn''t look away for her. There wasn''t any make-up on her face yet
she caught their eyes. Although some of them would like to approach her, with her aura in the Supernal
Stage enveloping her, no one dared toe near.
"Chief Luci, it is an honor to meet you..." Raef immediately politely saluted with his hands sped in
front of him.
Both Travis and Mary bowed to her.
Because this figure was none other than the chief of the Cao n, Luci Cao.
"There''s no need to be so formal, Chief Raef!" As Luci spoke, she glided across the hall and settled
down on the Heavenly Phoenix Chair and gestured to the three who remained frozen in their salute.
Almost imperceptible tremors of fear ran through their bodies as they sat down.
"This must be your daughter?" Luci''s eyes flickered at Mary''s direction.
"Yes, she is." Raef nodded.
"I''ve heard for a long time that the chief of the Xiao n has a pair of beautiful daughters. It seems the
rumors are true." Luci''s smile was breathtaking.
"Thank you for your praise, Chief Luci," Raef replied.
"By the way, where''s Mr. Rookie? Lucas was very vocal in rmending him. I don''t think I see him..."
It couldn''t be helped that Luci was curious about Rocky. After all, Lucas rmended him. She
wanted to know what was it that Rocky had made Lucas admire him so much.
"He..." Raef''s expression suddenly changed.
"What''s wrong? Did he note?" Luci''s eyes darkened as she arched a perfect brow.
"Chief Luci, Mr. Rookie prefers to be alone so he didn''te with us. He''ll arrive with my sister..."
Mary replied politely.
"So he''sing?" Luci nced at Mary for a moment before looking back at Raef.
"Of course!" Beads of sweat began to form on Raef''s forehead as he quickly nodded.
"That''s good." Luci approved with a graceful nod of her head.
Before anyone else could speak, a delicate figure rushed into the hall.
"Where''s that bastard?! Where did he hide?" As soon as she was in the hall, she red around every
nook and cranny.
"Queenie, what are you doing?" Luci''s voice turned shrill as she rebuked Queenie.
The furious beautiful figure was none other than Queenie.
"Obviously I''m looking for that bully. What''s his name?" Queenie''s eyes drilled into Raef.
"Miss Queenie, are you looking for Mr. Rookie?" Raef quickly asked before he sweated too much under
her fierce re.
"Mr. Rookie? He''s a despicable, obscene, and shameless excuse of a man. He''s just like a toad trying
to swallow a swan!" Queenie gritted out as she sternly crossed her arms.
"Queenie, you''re being rude. From today onward, don''t go out. Stay in your room and reflect on
yourself." A solemn expression appeared on Luci''s beautiful face.
When Queenie noticed that her sister was furious, her head drooped and she could only pout as if she
suffered an injustice even though it was her who was causing trouble.
"Haha..." Laughter echoed in the hall as an old man ambled in.
"Master! Luci said she''d lock me at home. Please help me!" When Queenie saw the old figure, she
immediately whined cutely.
"Master Lucas, stop spoiling her. She''s getting even cheekier!" Luci gave Queenie a dismal stare. A
headache was making itself known to her the longer she looked at her younger sister.
"Chief Luci, don''t worry. I''ll talk to herter." Lucasughed and stroked his beard.
Once she heard Lucas'' words, Luci could only sigh and shake her head. She knew that Lucas loved
them like his own granddaughters. How could he me Queenie! Her sister''s personality was most
likely because she''d been spoiled rotten by Lucas. Lucas'' position within the Cao n wasn''t just
superior to others, but sometimes even higher than the chief. If not for Lucas'' heartfelt support for
Luci in all these years, she wouldn''t be able to stay as the chief for long.
About ten years ago, Luci was just ten years old. Because of her high spirit maniptor talent, she
was known far and wide in the Timber Deity Empire. Luci''s father, Jacob Cao, was the former chief of
the Cao n and was a supreme master of the Divine Stage, so he was quite amazing. Therefore, at
that time, the Cao n was very powerful within the empire and the Qi n couldn''t evenpete.
However, none of them could predict that things would go so terribly wrong. While cultivating,
something went wrong and Jacob ended up killing several Cao n disciples. Although the elders
managed to save him and keep him alive, his cultivation base was destroyed and he was reduced into
a deepa.
As soon as Jacob wasn''t there, some Cao n members grabbed onto whatever power they could
and even the other big ns took advantage of the opportunity to make some profit from the grievous
mistake.
Jacob had two brothers who were both spirit maniptors at the advanced stage of the Supernal Stage
and famous throughout the empire. Instead of helping, once Jacob got in trouble, they began to
secretly fight for the chief position and shed so much that they almost split the Cao n into two.
When Lucas saw that the Cao n''s business that took years to build was going to be destroyed in
just a few short moments, he gave Luci, even though she was just a young girl, the chance to be the
chief of the n. Lucas was already famous back then and even the emperor of the Timber Deity
Empire appreciated him. Since Lucas backed Luci, the copse halted.
Although Jacob''s two brothers didn''t want to submit to Luci, Lucas'' prestige, status, and influence
made them dare not rashly act. Otherwise, neither of them would get anything in the future. Even
though they put up with it on the surface, they spent the past ten years secretly cultivating their own
factions as they coveted the position of the family chief.
Fortunately, Luci was brilliant at her job even though she became the chief at the age of ten. She
spent ten years of her youth rebuilding the Cao n''s reputation and made it recover from Jacob''s
''death''.
However, despite her best efforts, the Qi n still managed to take advantage of the events and gain
the strength needed topete with the Cao n.ConTEent bel0ngs to N?v(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
