Chapter 577 A Man And A Woman
"Why did youe back?" Marin asked with a slight quiver in her voice.
"Why do you need to know?" Rocky responded coldly.
"I know I wasn''t my best self yesterday, but you know it''s partly your fault too." Marin wanted to say
more but she stopped herself for a while. "Forget it," she remarked sadly. "I understand if you''re still
angry."
"Just stop it," Rocky said with a sigh. "If you say anything more, I''ll throw you into the tunnel." Rocky
concluded with an eye roll.
"If you stop being angry with me then I''ll crawl into the tunnel," Marin bargained. Her voice was more
cheerful than before.
"I''m not mad. Why would I be mad?" Rocky remarked, his voice sounding impatient.
"Are you sure?" Marin knew that she was being unreasonable the day before and that she had treated
Rocky wrongly.
"Just go down now. I will have to block these holes." Rocky ignored her questions.
Marin took a quick look at Rocky and observed that he was starting to look less cold. Feeling relieved,
she grabbed the rope and went into the hole.
All the Evian City guards had entered the premises. As soon as Rocky noticed this, he summoned
three Dark Heaven Insects andmanded them to fill the three holes. After that was aplished,
he disappeared with the three Insects.
On the other side, the Timber Deity Empire forces were being gathered by Woods at the south gate.
After half an hour, they were all finally gathered where they had to be.
"What about the casualties?" Woods asked.
He had a deep frown on his face and evident worry in his voice.
"We lost nearly four thousand soldiers. Perhaps it''s time to ept that the Evian City guards are
stronger than we thought." Woods'' face darkened, and he then ordered, "Investigate the current
position of the Evian City guards."
The group scattered in different directions. Spirit maniptors ran off with their spirit-manipted
beasts.
After an hour, everyone returned. They admitted to seeing no sign of Evian City guards inside the city.
"Your Royal Highness," one spirit maniptor suddenly called out, "there was a trace of Evian City
guards at the north gate. It seemed like they were withdrawing their army." There was a beat of silence.
"Withdrawing their army?" Woods frowned and wondered that the Evian City guards just made them
lose four thousand soldiers, and then they withdrew the troops in a sudden. ''It was really strange!'' he
thought.
"Soldiers, attention!" Woodsmanded. "Remain vignt and be careful." Woods felt like they were
missing something so they just had to be prepared for anything.
After an entire morning of searching, the Timber Deity Empire forces remained clueless on the
whereabouts of the Evian City guards.
"It seems that they have really withdrawn the army." Woods allowed himself to feel relieved.
He ordered five thousand soldiers each to guard the north and the south gates in case the enemy
returned, while the rest were given permission to rest at the Crimson Dragon Group headquarters. He
also sent someone to deliver the news of victory to Alyssa.
"As soon as I take over Evian City, I''ll have the power to negotiate with the Holy Dragon Empire."
Woods smiled at the thought. They were so close to gaining the upper hand against the Holy Dragon
Empire. Soon, their enemy would be at the Timber Deity Empire''s mercy.
The Timber Deity Empire were basking in their triumph. They really did think they had won. Meanwhile,
across the City, the Evian City guards were preparing for an even bigger counterattack. They were
crawling through the tunnels, led by four Elite Commanders.
The Evian City guards followed the Elite Commanders to their designated ces. To their surprise,
they found themselves in the four corners of the Crimson Dragon Group headquarters.
The sun was setting and it was getting dark. Inside the headquarters, lights were shining and people
were celebrating.

"What should we do next?" Sabina''s face shimmered under the light glow of the moon. Across her,
Rocky was deep in his thought.
"Just continuemanding the Evian City guards. The Timber Deity Empire''s troops are scattered.
They have ten thousand main forces guarding the north and south gates. I have sent four troops to
besiege the headquarters where their forces are now thin and shaky. We have tounch a
counterattack. Prepare for a bloody battle. As soon as we eliminate the Timber Deity Empire troops at
the headquarters, we get closer to winning the war. We have to make sure our forces remain at a
healthy number," Rocky said firmly.
"Wow," Sabina remarked, "you really are a prophet." She was surprised by how quickly Rocky came up

"This is a make or break moment! We attack at midnight. Until then, we just wait for your signal. We''ll
first let four troops of guards go into action." Rocky looked focused.
"What about you? What will you be doing?" Sabina asked honestly, hoping not to offend Rocky.
"Don''t worry. I''ll be busy," Rocky said with an ominous smile before he left the inn.
He returned quietly into the headquarters but, before he could, he noticed a soldier peeping at the
corner.
Rocky grabbed him by the arm and demanded that he should give hismander''s name. The soldier
trembled in fear. Rocky was prepared to use force, but quickly the man confessed, "It''s Commander
Woods!"
Rocky slowly put the man down. "Commander Woods?" he asked in shock. The man attempted to flee
but Rocky quickly beat him up. As soon as he was done, he left the ce.
Rocky arrived outside a pce in the headquarters. He quietly approached the main hall but stopped at
the sight of the guards and the three Heavenly Stage masters.
Before he could be noticed, Rocky ran to the side of the hall and hid underneath a window. From his
hiding spot, he heard a man and a woman talking.
"Our n worked," the woman''s voice dered.
"Yes, thanks to your hard work," the man answered. "We easily broke through the three passes without
even rming the Crimson Dragon Army. Soon, we''ll take over Evian City." Rocky stopped his breath.
The man sounded like Woods.
