Chapter 566 I Have no Intention of Helping You
Despite still being in shock over what happened just now, the people on the ground below could not
help but look up at the sky. The two spirit-manipted beasts were now flying low. Each was carrying
someone on their back—one was carrying a man, while the other was carrying a woman.
They were amazed not only by the aura of four-star spirit-manipted beasts but also by the aura of
the Supernal Stage spirit maniptor riding one of the beasts.
"They''re here!" At the sight of the beasts, as well as the familiar figures on their backs, flying above the
fort wall, Marin froze for a moment then cried out in surprise.
"Commander Marin, who is he?" Commander Ron asked in bewilderment. Obviously, he had yet to
recognize the people who had suddenly appeared to attack the army of the Timber Deity Empire.
The people riding those beasts turned out to be Rocky and Sabina, who had just rushed back here
from the Myriad Beasts Ground.
"Charge!" Marin suddenlymanded. She led more than two thousand soldiers of the Evian City to
charge towards the city gate and break through the enemy''s siege.
The sudden, horrible blizzard a moment ago had frozen many soldiers and forced the army of the
Timber Deity Empire to retreat to both sides of the gate, hence a gap emerged in their formation.
Marin, along with Elite Commander Ron and Elite Commander Lin, seized this chance to breach the
enemy''s defense from this very gap and easily fought their way to the gate.
However, just as they were about to enter Evian City, five Huge-horned Rhinoceroses ridden by their

The moment the Huge-horned Rhinoceroses smelled the scent of the magical saliva, they ignored their
masters'' orders and chased after Uriah who was now flying low in the air. In just a short while, all of
them were drawn away from the gate.
Now that the Huge-horned Rhinoceroses were gone, Marin, Elite Commander Ron, and Elite
Commander Lin quickly breached the gate and rushed into Evian City.
Inside Evian City, the city''s garrison was struggling to resist the attacks of thousands of Timber Deity
Empire''s soldiers and spirit maniptors. All of a sudden, however, another group of Evian City''s
garrison rushed into the city and joined the battle. The Timber Deity Empire''s army was caught off
guard. They were filled with doubt, wondering if something had happened outside the gate. The force
of their attacks weakened. Furthermore, since the support from their men at the fort wall stopped, they
now had Marin''s trooping at them from behind.
Before long, Woods, the prince of the Timber Deity Empire, who still had over ten thousand soldiers
under hismand, received the news from the frontline.
"How is that possible?" Woods muttered in disbelief. The news said that the team besieging the city
had suffered a surprise attack. Baffled, he scratched his chin and sank into contemtion. Could it be
that the reinforcement from the Crimson Dragon Group already arrived? But ording to Alyssa''s
analysis, the Crimson Dragon Group could not arrive within three days. They were supposed to have

Woods looked up at the sky. It was almost nightfall—this was not a good time to attack the city.
Besides, it seemed that the enemy''s reinforcement already arrived. He must be careful and wait for his
chance patiently.
"Withdraw!" Woods ordered after a moment of hesitation.
The horn was blown. Upon hearing it, the soldiers of the Timber Deity Empire stopped fighting against
the Evian City''s garrison. They withdrew from the city just like a receding tide. In the blink of an eye, all
of them were gone, leaving only the Evian City''s garrison who had just broken through the gate under
Marin, Elite Commander Ron, and Elite Commander Lin''s lead.
"The nightes just in time," Rocky, who stood on the wall watching the troop of the Timber Deity
Empire retreat, narrowed his eyes and said with a faint smile.
"Had wee back even one stepte, I''m afraid the city would have been upied by the Timber
Deity Empire," Sabina, who stood beside Rocky, said gravely. Duchess Silver was sitting quietly next to
her. Corpses were scattered all over the area. Fires, which had spread into the distance as far as the
eye could see, enveloped the whole city.
A short whileter, Uriah, who already finished its task, flew back andnded beside Rocky.
At this moment, the fires on the fort wall had burned out, leaving the wall scorched ck and ruined.
Rocky got down from the protruding stone. Just as he was about to go down from the wall, a group of
people rushed up and came to him.
"Rocky, you bastard..." a woman cursed loudly. Rocky stopped in his track.
He turned around and saw Marine at him in a towering rage. She was gnashing her teeth, looking
like she was itching to kill him.
"Commander Marin, what have I done to you?" Rocky looked at her with his arms folded.
"Why did youe sote?" Marin questioned him with dissatisfaction. Had he appeared earlier, Evian
City would not have fared so badly under the siege of the Timber Deity Empire''s army that it was nearly
taken by the enemies.
"You''re not my wife. Why should I report to you about when I woulde?" Rocky cast a nce at
Marin and raised his brows.
"You..." Marin flushed and stared at him angrily.
Themanders and the spirit maniptors standing behind her had to hold back theirughter as
they watched this exchange.
"Hey, she is a girl after all..." Sabina whispered to Rocky with a frown etched on her face.
"Ro... Commander Rocky, you are finally here!" A man''s voice suddenly broke the awkward silence.
Commander Wang squeezed himself into the crowd and shoved his way towards Rocky. Since Rocky
didn''t have a title, Commander Wang had paused for a moment but quickly decided that he''d better call
him "Commander".
As he tried to catch his breath, he took out the Crimson Dragon Token given by Lance and offered it to
Rocky. "The Commander in Chief asked me to give it to you. Now that you''re here, you''ll be in charge
of the Evian City''s garrison from now on… Please ept this token..."
