Chapter 459 The Unexpected Discovery
After a few moments, Rocky found himself in a deserted ce where an old and abandoned house
stood. He examined the exteriors of the house and found a broken window concealed by spider webs.
He peaked through the gap of the broken window and found no one inside. Quietly, he reached for the
dusty doorknob. As soon as he pushed the door open, a pile of dust was shaken off from the top of the
door as a stink wafted into his nose. He pressed his hand to his nose, proceeded inside and left his
footsteps on top of the thick dust that covered the floor. He was convinced that no one had lived there
for quite some time.
He started to investigate the inside of the house. Upon closer look, he realized that the furnishing of the
house seemed strange. There were no tables and beds, while only shabby shelves lined each side of
the wall. The shelves had bottles and jars on top of them that all looked too heavy for the old structure.
And the stove that stood in the center of the house came in a strange style that made it look like a
furnace for refining pills.
After looking around the furnace for a while, he noticed a pile of spirit-manipted beasts'' skeletons
which were broken into small pieces at the deepest part of the house. Without touching it, he left it and
proceeded to inspecting the jars on the shelves. He looked at the jars closely and noticed blurrybels
on top of them. When he opened one of them, a strong stench of smell wafted the air. When he looked
inside, he nearly dropped the jar at the sight of rotten and dried internal organs.
"Here seems to be aboratory," Rocky said to himself. "I guess it was used to study the subject
rted to the spirit-manipted beasts." He rubbed his chin and allowed himself to go deeper into
spection.
"The Myriad Beasts Ground is not a safe ce. Someone even had the courage to set up aboratory
here. He must be no ordinary guy," he concluded.
Seeing the house have no other special part or treasures, Rocky decided to leave. However, the
moment he turned and was about to leave, the Rainbow Glow Unicorn appeared abruptly and ran
towards the deeper part of the house. The unicorn kicked the broken skeletons away and dug hard on
the ground with its limbs as if it was searching for something.
Immediately, Rocky knew what the unicorn was trying to do. It had proven plenty of times that it could
locate rare treasures. Without further dy, he walked to its side and found that the ce where it dug
just now seemed to be more protruding than other ces, so he quickly pulled out his Frozen Wind
Dagger and cut through the protruding ce gently by injecting his spiritual power into his dagger. In a
few seconds, the protruding ground was cracked, revealing an iron box about the size of two palms.
Rocky got the box and opened it immediately. Inside, a yellow spiritual crystal sat neatly on top of a
faded notebook.
First, he took the crystal out and kept it. Then, he went through the notebook and skimmed the first few
pages. He was surprised to find that the notebook described how to refine a spiritual crystal.
It described how the crystal could evolve using the bones of the spirit-manipted beasts with spiritual
power. It took a long-termmitment to breed the essence of heaven and earth and be refined by a
human.
Since ancient times, the Wild Spirit Land where Rocky stayed had plenty of spirit maniptors who
used every method to try to make the spiritual crystal, but to no avail.
It seemed like the notebook that Rocky held now contained detailed knowledge on how to refine the
spiritual crystal. The methods described weren''t known to Rocky until that day. He flipped to thest
page of the notebook and found a note seemingly written by its original owner. It stated that the author
himself could not refine the spiritual crystal sessfully within his lifetime, so he hoped that whoever
would inherit the notebook would continue the process and see to its sess.
"Perhaps the author of this notebook had long passed and left this behind," Rocky sighed. He knew
that the author of the notebook deserved to be respected. He had taken time to record the process of
refining spiritual crystals—a knowledge of extreme value to future generations.
"Today, he might be regarded as one of the greatest scientists," Rocky remarked. Rocky spent a few
moments staring in awe before he kept the crystal and the notebook. He took one more look at the
house before deciding to leave with the Rainbow Glow Unicorn.
As he stepped out, something not far away from the house caught his attention. There was a cherry
tree that stood on the right of the house and, underneath it, a stone tablet sat. He looked at the stone
tablet closer and noticed strange symbols engraved on it. The symbols looked iprehensible to his
human eyes. A full nce of the item made him realize that it looked like a tombstone.
Looking at the tombstone and then at the house, he wondered if the tombstone was set up for the
author of the notebook. "However, who buried the man and who set up the tombstone for him?" Rocky
spected.
He bowed three times to show some respect and then left with the unicorn.
After Rocky left, a figure appeared from behind the cherry tree. "It''s him!" it whispered as it watched his
back.
Rocky was unable to see the figure and proceeded to leaving the valley. As soon as he was outside of
it, he released his four beasts from the Magic Spiritual Space and followed his original way back. He
searched for fertile tnd and set up a bonfire before it got dark. He released his three Dark Heaven
Insects and the Dark Heaven Insect Queen in turn to feed them. After that, he used his spiritual power
to stimte the brain of his Ghostly Ice Fox-Wolf for an hour.

He read the process again and found there was a lot of work to be done in the early stage of refining
the spiritual crystal. He had to collect arge number of materials that came from different ces and
were extremely varied, including various internal organs of spirit-manipted beasts, as well as

In the middle of the notebook, Rocky saw a hand-painted picture of a familiar object, which was also

Rocky stared at the painting harder. "This must be the Beast Spiritual Pill," he muttered. He took out
the round pill that he found in that spirit-manipted beast at the third grade of the four-star level.
The round pill he was holding was also known as the Beast Spiritual Pill. Every time a spirit-
manipted beast swallowed a spiritual crystal or rare treasure and absorbed its power, they had
trouble in digesting it. Thus, residues would be left behind in their stomach. After years of
