Chapter 453 A Cunning Smile
With her eyes shifting to her father, Isis nodded in agreement and said, "Okay, I get it." Summoning her
Silver Wind, she walked as graceful as she could out of the Commander in Chief''s camp and flew
towards the Hippo Land.
Meanwhile, the Timber Deity Empire retreated from the war just two days ago. Taking advantage of it,
the Crimson Dragon Army, under Rocky''smand, took the camp site of the Hippo Land.
It was customary that after every major battle, especially a victorious one, that the soldiers would take a
rest. In this way, they could recuperate better and prepare themselves for the next war that they would
face. And right at that time, the military camp was bustling with happy and energetic soldiers
celebrating their victory.
But in every busy asion, there would always be some people who would try and sneak away from
the over-crowded scene to get some private moments of his own. Leading the Crimson Dragon Army to
recapture the Hippo Land, Rocky was no doubt the key to the victory of this battle. He was the man of

Although he could not quite figure out what method Sabina used to help him, he could still feel that
there was something quite odd about her and her actions as soon as he saw her. With that, he had to
be cautious around her when dealing with her.

But Marin turned her head away in order to avoid making any eye contact with Rocky, turning her face
serious at the sight of him.
Confused, Rocky then thought, ''What is going on with her? I don''t think that I have offended her in any
way.''
Rocky had no idea why she gave him the cold shoulder, but the more important fact was that he had a
very important thing to ask her. So, he had to approach her in a humble manner, "Well done,
Commander Marin! You must have been working so hard to arrange the transportation of the grains
and supplies."
"So, what''s up? Since when have you ever be so considerate?" Marin wondered and red at the
sight of the overly eager Rocky.
"Well, actually, there is something that I want to consult with you, Commander Marin," Rocky said in a
serious tone.
"Why? I really don''t believe that there is something that your honored Elite Commander would want to
consult with me. By doing so, you are ttering this very humble Commander. Aren''t you almighty
about everything? Hmm... How about you think it through on your own. I wouldn''t twinkle my eye if you
have to get stuck in the eternal perplexity!" Marin retorted in the most unreasonable manner as if
throwing a tantrum. In fact, she was so infuriated that she even wanted to tie him up so that she could
thrash him and vent her anger over the bowl of gruel she took the time and care to cook!
To be honest, she could not figure out the reason why she actually took care of Rocky for a whole
night. And on top of that, she cooked a pot of gruel for him in person in the morning. Even she herself

convince herself to ept her irrational behavior. What pissed her off was that the guy ran away when
she brought it to him, making her feel that her care was not appreciated at all.

With this, Rocky could only force a smile as he was sent off with a flea in his ear. He then thought, ''She
was good and kind to me this morning as if she was a sweetpanion or a loving mother. If that is

Rocky thought to himself as he waspletely perplexed. He had not any clue on what happened to
Marin at all.
"Commander Bai, what have you done to offend Commander Marin?" Dunn, who happened to run into
the dramatic fight between them, approached at that moment as he asked with an honest smile.
"How do you think I''m supposed to know that?" Rocky frowned slightly as he replied.
"We all know that Commander Marin took great care about you the whole night yesterday. Then, why
does she suddenly treat you as an enemy? Is that possible that you have done something to offend
her? But, even though Commander Marin is never outdone by any men in the battlefield, she is after
all, is still a girl. Don''t all girls want to be spoiled? Well, all people do, but, don''t you think so?" Dunn
suggested as if he was good atmunicating with girls.
"I think it is better if I stay away from her," Rocky said as he did not want to be brushed off again.
"Ah, right! I heard from the old military cook that Commander Marin cooked a bowl of gruel this
morning. Who do you think she cooked it for? The old cook has been under Commander Marin''s
cook in person. Do you think Commander Marin was being a bit weird?" Dunn told the story
meaningfully to Rocky as he suddenly recalled the anecdote.
"Gruel?" Rocky immediately called to mind what happened this morning as he heard Dunn''s ount of
the anecdote. He remembered that Marin seemed to say that she would bring the gruel for him this
