Chapter 1657 Earth Hermit Showing Up Again
"Enough games, Austin! You''ve reached the end of the road.
Now, I''ll kill you slowly to make sure you suffer,"
the elder in ck from the Ji n spat, ring at Austin.
The elder waved his hand and it felt like an invisible rope was constricting around Austin. He dug his
heels into the ground as the elder began reeling Austin towards him, but it was no use. Within seconds,
he would be in the elder''s grasp.
When he was inches from the elder, Austin panicked and directed the Spiritual Pot towards the elder''s
head in an attempt to attack his spiritual soul. The elder''s eyes widened.
"What?
How have you mastered such a mysterious spiritual sense attack? I''ve never seen anything like this!
It looks like you hold many secrets. I will have to find out what they areter," the elder in ck said,
studying Austin.
An evil smile yed on the elder''s lips. With ease, he sent a powerful spiritual sense from his head and
the Spiritual Pot flew back towards Austin.
The pot approached Austin''s soul and a sharp pain radiated through his head. He groaned and nearly
fell to his knees.
He closed his eyes and focused on the spiritual tree. Momentster, the pot was kicked out from his
Soul Sea and he was left unscathed.
Austin wasn''t shocked to see the horror on the elder''s face. That spiritual sense attack had been at
least ten times more powerful than his own spiritual sense and he was able to defeat it. The spiritual
tree took all the credit for that.
The elder gnashed his teeth and began pulling Austin towards him at a faster pace. Austin''s mind was
racing to find an escape but he couldn''t see a way. Suddenly, there was a popping sound and a thin,
old man appeared beside him.
"Sorry but you''re not going to have a chance to discover this brat''s secrets," the old man said, grinning
at the elder in ck.
He stepped into the space between Austin and the elder in ck.
Gradually, the space around Austin went back to normal.
His feet fell t on the ground again and he stopped being pulled towards the elder.
"It''s you, old man!" Austin beamed.
He had never been so d to see Earth Hermit before. Now that he was here, and the elder could not
touch Austin.
"Yeah. Let''s go," Earth Hermit replied with a smile.
The situation had turned to one of mortal peril to hope. The world felt wide again, like Austin was
invincible.
''This is perfect. I''m safe now. Even just a couple secondster and I would have been dead, '' Austin
thought, pping his hands together once in celebration.
"Who are you?
You want to save this brat? Good luck with that. You''ll have to defeat me first," the elder in ck
taunted.
He raised an eyebrow at Earth Hermit and stepped backwards, preparing himself for battle.
"That''s giving yourself a lot credit," Earth Hermit snapped, casting him a defiant stare.
With a wave of his hand, Earth Hermit yelled and released a huge amount of vital energy. It reared like
a cobra in front of him and flung itself at the elder in ck.
Much to Austin''s shock, the elder in ck was thrown into the air and hit the ground.
Hey there, unconscious.
"Oh man, he made that look effortless!" Austin murmured, smiling as he looked at the motionless elder
in ck.
''That''s amazing. The elder from the Ji n is really powerful and he could have easily blocked the
space and protected himself.
The old man is unbeatable. He made the elder look like an unarmed child. I wonder how many other
people he has humiliated, '' Austin mused.
"Let''s get out of here. It''s too dangerous," Earth Hermit said to Austin.
He approached Austin and grabbed his arm, trying to pull him along. Austin stood his ground.
"Old man, I can''t leave mypanions behind. You are so strong. Please help them,"
Austin begged, pointing in the direction he hadst seen them.
"Seriously?
Do I look like a hero, brat?
Now, just look over there. Do you see the cultivators? They are super powerful and I don''t want to see
theme to action.
If they see us, they will fight and I will not be able to win this time,"
Earth Hermit exined, looking fearfully at the cultivators standing guard.
Austin watched the handful of elders and understood what Earth Hermit meant. ''He may be powerful
but everyone had their limits, '' Austin thought.
"Quickly! We have to leave. They just saw us,"
Earth Hermit eximed out of nowhere.
They looked intimidating in their old robes. Earth Hermit and Austin had no way out without a fight.
"It''s you, Earth Hermit. You want to take Austin with you? No way," one of the elders said with a snort.
Before they could try and escape around them, the elders rushed towards them.
"Old man, you''re scary good. I know you can defeat these elders and save mypanions. I just know
it,"
Austin insisted.
"Damn it! You can be a pest, you know?
If I had known you were going to do this, I would have left you for dead.
When these elders reach us, we will not be able to get away," Earth Hermitined.
Austin watched the elders running towards them and felt his heart rate increase. Was this the end?
Contrary to Earth Hermit''s words, he had a calm look on his face. He almost appeared to be sleeping.
A few momentster, a beam of light shot out from his body and apass with a silver needle floated
in the air in front of them.
It was the samepass that he had used while they were exploring Purple Immortal''s tomb.
The oldpass rotated in mid-air and hundreds of small runes flew out of it and into the sky above
them.
N?velDrama.Org is the owner.
The runes glowed as they formed a pattern with the sun, moon and countless stars in the sky. Austin
tried to interpret their meaning but it was beyond his cultivation.
Suddenly, the ground began trembling at their feet. It started as a rumble and grew to a full out
earthquake. The air around them seemed to be twisting and turning, making Austin feel dizzy.
The stars in the sky slid down and joined together to form shiny chains. Those chains spread in every
direction until there were hundreds of thousands of them.
Each of them targeted a member of the me Holy Land, tied them up, and dragged next to Austin
and Earth Hermit.
It only took moments until all of Austin''spanions were rounded up—even the four stewards. Some
of them were screaming and others had cowered into the fetal position.
"Don''t resist and don''t be afraid. A master is helping us," Austin informed all the members of the me
Holy Land through his spiritual sense.
The sight of hispanions being saved by Earth Hermit sent joy rippling through his body. Almost
everyone was presented and ounted for and he couldn''t have done it without help.
The remaining empty chains shot into the air with unbelievable velocity and flew so high that they
couldn''t be seen with the naked eye.
In the blink of an eye, they returned and dragged all the people of the me Holy Land into the
"Let''s get going!"
Earth Hermit grabbed Austin and leaped into thepass.
The oldpass shone like the sun, casting white light onto the elder''s face.
As if from excitement, it started to vibrate. Before any of them could move, it vanished into thin air.
"I''ll not let you escape from me," an elder in grey said as desperately leaped onto the spot where the
As he stood again, anger highlighted the lines of his old face.
All of a sudden, a fishing pole had materialized in the elder''s right hand. It was one of his magic
treasures.
He put the fishing pole over his shoulder and cast it forward.
Grey fishing line began to spool out and on the end of it, there was a giant hook.
The fishing line seemed to go on forever.
He squeezed the fishing pole tightly and scrunched his face, hoping that he would catch the old
Momentster, a crisp sound of metal hitting metal rang out. A smile formed on the elder''s face.
As he reeled the fishing line back in, the oldpass came into view. The other elders cheered and
waited anxiously for it to reach them.
"Looks like your Space Compass is not that powerful, Earth Hermit," the elder in grey muttered with a
smug smile.
He jerked the pole towards him and eagerly reached out for the oldpass.
To his horror, the Space Compass began glowing.
Power shot out of it.
The hook sprung off of thepass and flew at the elder in grey. He ducked just in time.
"This can''t be happening! It''s all an illusion!"
the elder in grey eximed while running backwards to take cover.
Swoosh!
Thepass had disappeared once again. The elder in grey looked at the empty space and
stammered.
"What''s going on?
Why didn''t you stop Earth Hermit?"
The other elders approached the elder in grey. He ced his face in his hands and sighed.
"Earth Hermit made a breakthrough.
Now his cultivation base is a realm higher than mine,"
the elder in grey answered.
"What? That old bastard reached a higher realm?
This isn''t fair! Now he is stronger than all of us,"
an elder who constantly gave off a purple light added.
"Fuck! I have been stuck in this realm for nearly a thousand years.
Now this old man is one step ahead of me,"
an elder enveloped in dark light cursed, looking sullen.
