Chapter 1041 The Demonic Dog
The Barren Mountain, located in the Triangle Zone, was well-known for being one of the most
dangerous ces in the whole South Continent.
Most of the cultivators who came here knew they had a high risk of losing their lives.
However, as stories still circted about cultivators who entered and left with remarkable encounters,
there were still many who took great risks to enter it in hopes that they might find something unusual
and valuable.
In the sky above the Triangle Zone, a beam of light flew at an extreme speed, appearing one moment
and vanishing the next.
It was the Dragon and Phoenix Chariot.
After about a whole day, it stopped.
Austin stepped out of the Chariot.
He sent out his spiritual sense and discovered that there was deathly stillness everywhere.
The sky looked dark and gloomy. On the ground, rocks and grit were strewn all over, but there was no
sign of life. Not a single animal or nt was there at all.
"I will soon be in the Barren Mountain if I continues forward,"
Austin murmured. Before he set out, he had memorized the location of the Barren Mountain precisely.
He was able to keep the Dragon and Phoenix Chariot flying without dy, and it merely took one day to
cover the distance to the Barren Mountain.
If he had not ridden his Chariot, Austin guessed that he would have to fly at least for six or seven days
before reaching his destination.
Although the Dragon and Phoenix Chariot need to consume a great number of divine vital energy
crystals, Austin still felt it was worth it.
With his spiritual sense force, Austin briefly inspected the surroundings. Then he waved his hand to
store away the Chariot.
Dispatching his Thunderbolt Movement Skill, Austin flew forward in the direction of the huge and
deste ck mountain.
This mountain rose in deadly still space. It was totally ck and lifeless.
Finally, the Barren Mountain!
As he approached it, Austin sent off his spiritual sense again. He found that in the hills and valleys,
there were some human cultivators'' figures.
Apparently they hade here to find some remarkable encounter.
After a short while, Austinnded on the mountainside.
Thend he was standing on was dark brown, filled with cracks like a spider web. Varying in sizes,
some cracks were as huge as a ravine.
He could not see any living thing. Not even a de of grass was to be found here. Many stones were
piled up hostilely and the high mountains blocked his vision.
A disaster must have taken ce long ago and destroyed all the living things, rendering the entire
mountain dead.
This was Austin''s first impression of his ce.
Then Austin transported Emma and Debby beside him.
"We are in the Barren Mountain now, girls.
Our adventure has now started formally,"
Austin said to them with a smile.
"Sir, thank you very much..."
Looking at the ck mountain, Emma and Debby felt excited.
The two girls were well aware that they should not have had the chance toe to the Barren
Content property of N?velDra/ma.Org.
Mountain without Austin''s help. The Triangle Zone was a perilous ce for two girls like them who
were not quite as strong as they should be.
Understandably, they were very grateful for Austin.
"Don''t keep calling me sir. I''m not used to that. It makes me feel weird! Just call me Austin,"
he chuckled.
"Well, okay. We will do that, sir,"
Emma answered hurriedly.
"Ha-ha! Emma, he asked you to call him Austin. But you still called him sir,"
Debbyughed.
"I didn''t mean to!" her sister retorted.
"Well, now, let''s go!"
Austin turned around and took the lead. The sisters looked at each other and nodded determinedly. ...
After a short while, they came to a hollow ground.
Inside the hollow, there were more cracks in the ground.
Just before the three of them passed through the center of the hollownd, dozens of ck shadows
rushed out of one of the ten-meter-wide cracks.
"Demonic dogs!"
the sisters gasped.
The demonic dog was a special kind of demonic beast living in the Barren Mountain. Their primary diet
consisted of human flesh!
Each demonic dog was at least as powerful as a cultivator at the Imperial Realm. Particrly strong
ones were said to be as powerful as a cultivator at the Master Realm, or even at the Astral Realm.
They also traveled inrge packs, which could be anywhere from dozens to even hundreds of them.
That meant that the group of demonic dogs were as powerful as dozens or even hundreds of
cultivators at the Imperial Realm!
Many human cultivators who came to the Barren Mountain were extremely afraid of these fearsome
creatures.
Certainly, it was not unheard of for a cultivator at the Astral Realm, too flee in a hurry at the sight of
them.
Austin and the two girls hadn''t expected to meet a group of demonic dogs so quickly!
"Don''t worry. It''s not a big deal," Austin said to the two girls who were in a panic.
Looking at the dozens of demonic dogs rushing towards him as quickly as plumes of ck smoke,
Austin pursed his lips and gave a smile.
His right hand was outstretched, the Lightning Sword appearing in a sh.
"Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh..."
Apanied by the sound of thunder and lightning, dozens of thunderbolt sword auras were
dispatched to the demonic dogs.
"Wham, whack!"
The sounds of bones being chopped rang out as dozens of dogs were cut to pieces.
To Austin''s surprise, no blood or flesh remained once the dogs were killed. The broken pieces instantly
dissipated into plumes of ck fog and vanished in the air. After a while, there was nothing left.
"What?" Austin asked.
He scratched his head, confused.
These demonic dogs seemed not have any physical bodies made of blood and flesh, but were instead
made of ck fog.
Seeing that the fearsome demonic dogs were all killed in such a short time without using high-leveled
skills, the two sisters admired Austin even more deeply.
"Let''s go," Austin said, after a brief moment of contemtion.
The three of them continued forward.
Inside the Barren Mountain, Austin and the two girls walked forward slowly.
It was an extensive area and they did not know where to look for what they wanted. They had to search
slowly.
They met some other human cultivators on their way.
Most were surprised to see Austin, who was only at the preliminary stage of Astral Realm, together with
two pretty girls at the Imperial Realm. Most of them looked at the three strangely, especially some male
cultivators, whose gazes were filled with desire at the sight of the two girls.
Austin was not hostile, not wanting to start an unnecessary fight.
Of course, if someone who could not have sharp sight to see Austin''s real strength ande to bully
them, Austin would never hold back.
"Master, have you forgotten about the gnome?
Remember that he is very sensitive to the most valuable of nature''s gifts,"
Violet''s voice rang out all of a sudden, sent by her spiritual sense into his Soul Sea.
Violet and the gnome were both inside the Illusion Bead.
''Oh, right! How could I forget!?''
Austin shook his head, a little annoyed that he had forgotten.
It would be much more effective to have the gnome take the lead for them, instead of searching
aimlessly like this.
