Chapter 608 The Midnight Hour
"The five corpse demons haven''t been marked with spiritual sense yet. We''ll need to control them after
we have removed the sealter or else we might have a difficult time if we do it after. Vice Sect
Leaders, will each of you mark one corpse demon and be able to control it?"
Buck asked, a worried tone was evident in his voice.
It was only right that he should be worried, because it would require a cultivator with a high spiritual
sense and proficient skills to be able to mark their spiritual sense on a corpse demon. It wasn''t a job for
the weak.
Failure in marking a corpse demon was guaranteed if the cultivator had a weak spiritual sense, or they
were not skilled enough in controlling their power. Marking and controlling a corpse demon was a very
nitty-gritty process and could not be meddled with.
Among the three of them, Buck was the strongest cultivator. He was close to the Imperial Realm, and
his spiritual sense power was also the strongest.
However, the two newly appointed Vice Sect Leaders were rtively weakpared to him. They also
One of them was at the medium stage of Sky Realm, and the other had only reached the premium
stage of Sky Realm not long ago.
What was even worse, their cultivation in spiritual sense was also pretty weak.
"Mr. Buck, don''t you worry. You can definitely count on me. I have been cultivating the Soul-
transforming Skill day and night for the past few months.
My spiritual sense has already improved leaps and bounds. I''m sure I can skillfully control a corpse
demon," the tall thin man answered confidently.
"Rest assured Mr. Buck, I won''t let you down.
I can handle a corpse demon easily!" added the elder Vice Sect Leader with grey hair.
"Very well, I trust your word. I''ll deal with the remaining three corpse demons. With the addition of these
five corpse demons, our Ghost Sect''s power will definitely increase tenfold!"
Buck eximed excitedly. He then waved his hand, and a powerful vital energy force gushed out
forcing the two heavy stone doors leading to the basement to open with a loud bang. Just as the doors
opened, a dark and cold corpse miasma poured out, which was so strong that it could easily suffocate
people who were not strong enough to resist it.
But because of the strong spiritual energy of the three men, they easily deflected the strong miasma as
if it was like ordinary air. They proceeded forward and entered the basement. After a few minutes, the
entrance where the three men initially stood on became deadly silent and calm. The three were
apparently already deep into the basement, and no sound came out.
Not long after the three people left, a young man suddenly appeared at the front entrance towards the
basement. The man was none other than Austin.
Austin had recently mastered the elementary bodily movement skill of disguise, so he was able to
effortlessly sneak into the headquarters of the Ghost Sect without anyone noticing his movements.
Before he arrived at the entrance, he released his spiritual sense to find out what was happening
inside, and was able to trace the steps of the three people. He followed them all the way inside, until he
came upon the entrance to the basement.
Austin stood there, and contemted on his next actions for a few seconds. Then he decided to follow
suit, and entered the basement directly.
Once he was inside, Austin heard sounds of the wind which came from multiple directions. It sounded
like thousands of people crying and suffering which was ear-piercing and loud. It was a horrible sound
which would make anyone cringe in fear.
Moreover, there was this strong corpse miasma, which carried a stinking smell of rotten fish and
corpse. It flowed all over the basement like a sea of clouds, and singe waft would certainly make
anyone feel nauseous which would force them to vomit.
On the walls of the basement were piles of unknown substances which glowed like fluorescent light.
The light was green and looked gruesome, which made the entire room look like a piece of hell.
Austin started walking for about a few meters inside the room. At first, he walked through a rugged and
steep path, which was about 100 meters deep which led to a dark room. There were lots of cubicles as
you went along the path. It was gloomy and stifling. He vaguely saw numerous corpses which
motionlessly stood in the cubicles, creating a creepy scene.
The corpses wereposed of men who were corpse soldiers or corpse generals.
Austin released his spiritual sense in order to inspect them. He found out that all the corpse in the room
were sealed in a deep sleep. The dense corpse miasma in the air provided a suitable environment in
order to preserve them, providing nourishment to the corpses.
Austin suddenly realized that this ce was the corpse storage basement of the Ghost Sect.
He had already walked for about a kilometer, and had already passed by hundreds of cubicles.
However, the road seemed longer and to no end. It was like he was walking in a never ending path.
After aimlessly walking in the dark for about 1.5 kilometers, he finally arrived at the end of the
basement.
Austin stopped and released his spiritual sense in order to locate the three person''s whereabouts. That
was when he found out that the men stopped walking only a few meters away from his current position.
At the end of the basement was a wide and broad tform.
He noticed a dark pond about 20 meters wide in the middle of the tform. It was filled to the brim with
a dark and sticky substance which looked like a ck colored paste. An extremely thick cloud of corpse
miasma hovered above the substance. After carefully observing it, Austin realized that the boiling pond
was producing the corpse miasma.

Beside the pond, thereid five coffins made from rare Phoebe sheareri. All of them were shrouded
with an intensely thick cloud of corpse miasma.
Austin hid not far from the three men, giving him the perfect spot to feel everything that was happening
through his spiritual sense without getting caught.
The three people from the Ghost Sect silently stood close to the coffins.
They were both excited and nervous as they gazed at the coffins, as if they were staring at a mound of
rare treasure.
"We can''t remove the seal from the corpse demon yet. The best time to perform the unsealing is during
midnight.
When midnight strikes, the feminine energy would have reached its highest peak then. It''s during that
time when the corpse demon would have attained their strongest fighting capacity, and this is when
they are most powerful. It''s just like waiting for a fruit to ripen. It tastes best when it is fully mature.
So, right now, we just wait here until midnight. Because something this important is worth waiting for,"
Buck carefully exined to hispanions.
They both nodded in understanding. All three of them went ahead and sat down on the ground crossed
legged. They all took a deep breath and calmly closed their eyes in order to meditate.
The cultivation methods of the Ghost Sect were both evil and gruesome. They needed to absorb
enough corpse miasma for their cultivation method, and they were in the perfect environment at that
moment. It was too good of an opportunity to pass up, so they started to cultivate quietly. It was like
hitting two birds with one stone.
Austin heard every word that came out of Buck''s mouth, so he decided to stay hidden until midnight
just like the three men from the Ghost Sect and see what would happen then.
Austin was pretty sure that the five corpse demons must be kept in the coffins for a reason while
waiting for midnight to arrive.
The coffins were sealed by some kind of power. It seemed like a strong seal protected the coffins, and
would require a lot of power in order to break them. And the Ghost Sect men would only unseal them
by midnight.
Austin realized that waiting patiently was the only thing he could do at that moment.
If he had been an ordinary cultivator, he would be crazy and stupid to stay in the basement for that
long, since the corpse miasma was so strong and fatal. He wouldn''t definitely stand a chance against it
if it were the case.
The corpse miasma was like a silent killer, which slowly poisoned the body. If an ordinary cultivator
inhaled too much miasma, he might just die. Besides the poison, corpse miasma had a serious effect
on one''s brain. It could numb the senses, and damage the brain to the point of insanity.
Given the fact that the corpse miasma was so strong and overbearing, any cultivator who was weaker
would lose their spiritual souls and would fall unconsciousness.
Ordinary cultivators wouldn''t even dare to set foot in such a ce. It was like they would be sentencing
themselves to death if they even tried going inside.
However, Austin was not an ordinary cultivator. The Golden Sun Scripture that he cultivated could
produce masculine light golden vital energy, which could conquer the corpse miasma. He also had
another ace up his sleeve, the Scorching Evil Fire within his body. Just a small portion of it was enough
to drive away the corpse miasma. It was like having an invisible shield around his body. Therefore, the
corpse miasma couldn''t even get close to him.
Not only that, Austin also had the Thunder Elixir and the original thunder power in his body as well.
These two were considered to be the most positive and strongest power in the world. The corpse
miasma wouldn''t even stand a chance.
Having thesebined power, Austin felt safe and secured and was not afraid of the poisonous corpse
miasma at all. On the contrary, the corpse miasma didn''t even dare to approach him. It was as if the
corpse miasma was actually afraid of his presence.
He sat in his hiding ce and patiently waited for a few hours.
And then suddenly, the three men of the Ghost Sect opened their eyes abruptly.
"The time hase. It is finally midnight,"
Buck said slowly as he intently gazed at the five corpse coffins. The other two also looked at the
coffins, breathing heavily as they did. Excitement was written all over their faces.
At the same time, Austin rose to his feet and stared at the three people from the Ghost Sect in front of
him. He watched their every move without even batting an eyelid and released his spiritual sense. ''It''s
finally show time.''
