Chapter 45 Hunt Evil Apes (Part One)


    However, this was no easy task. Not only were the evil apes a couple, they could have been anywhere


    from the valley to the ce where the earth spirit fruits took hold.


    There was also the problem that they were several times stronger than the average level two diabolic


    beasts.


    No one in the Evil Ape Hunting Team was actually sure that he would be able to fight them.


    Most of the level two diabolic beasts were highly intelligent and it would have been big trouble indeed if


    the two apes were ready to ambush the team.


    The idea kept them all on their toes.


    Austin also released his spiritual sense, which allowed him to sense everything in a six-hundred-foot


    radius around him.


    Along the way, there were no signs of the two evil apes.


    After the team had ventured about a mile into the valley, they suddenly found that it was filled with a


    sort of milky mist. Everything looked hazy and there was a wet, damp smell in the air.


    "Be careful, everyone! They could be hiding anywhere."


    Ralf reminded the others coldly.


    A few dozen meters forward, they saw that a heap of rubbley behind some bushes.


    Behind the rubbley a hillside with green vines and a milky mist covering it.


    Just as they were about to pass through the rubble, Austin suddenly stopped.


    His spiritual sense felt that at a concave ground on the hillside shroudedpletely by thick mist, and


    there was an evil ape with a pair of blood-red eyes staring at the team.


    "Watch out!"


    Austin warned loudly. Right now, they were all in the same boat, and since there were two of the apes,


    they could not afford to lose anyone.


    Everyone was nervous. When they heard Austin''s cautionary call, they instantly ran back a dozen


    steps.


    As soon as they moved, the very ground they were standing on shook fiercely, as a huge figure rushed


    down with great momentum.


    There appeared a three-foot-deep pit on the ground, with star-like cracks spread around it and out of


    the blue, a huge ck evil ape materialized in front of everyone.


    About six or nine feet tall, andpletely covered in long jet-ck hairs, the ape was a sight to behold


    and was surrounded by a cloud of scarlet miasma.


    The fangs stuck out of its fearsome big mouth and a pair of giant blood-red pupils was casting a brutal


    killing intent around it.


    "Boom! Boom!"


    The evil ape hammered wildly on his thick, strong chest, almost as if it was showing off its power to the


    intruders.


    Gasping loudly, it stared at the team with its blood-red eyes, clearly marking them as targets. It was

    clear that he had no intention of letting the team survive.


    It had be annoyed by the constant barrage of intruders into the valley over the past two or three


    days.


    Looking at the fierce evil ape, all the members of the team felt a cold shiver down their spine.


    "The beast''s alone right now. Let''s beat it together!"


    Marvin and Ralf yelled almost at the same time and dashed toward the evil ape like two big birds.


    The remainder of the group did not hesitate any more now. With fight or flight instincts kicking in, they


    were quite determined to beat the ape together, especially since it was alone right now.


    Ralf was the first to go near the evil ape. He suddenly threw out a white iron chain straight toward its


    throat.


    Bing restless, the ape started screaming and stretched out its hand in order to grab the chain, but


    was unsessful.


    Somehow, the chain was able to behave like a living creature, and could turn in midair.


    It moved away from the big palm of the evil ape, and swooshed along the dark, sturdy arm of the ape in


    order to wrap around its body.


    With a wave of its stout arm, the evil ape emitted some scarlet miasma and easily shook off the white


    iron chain.


    All Ralf felt was a huge force that passed across the chain and he stumbled several steps back.


    While Ralf was fought back with the chain, Marvin shot his jade fan at the evil ape''s eyes, which was


    one of the weakest parts of its body.


    However, the attempt was thwarted when the ape waved its long arm and hit Marvin''s jade fan with


    such great force that it slipped out of his grasp.


    At the same time, its other hand flew straight towards Marvin''s head with brutal force and fearsome


    ferocity.


    In the face of this crisis, Marvin instinctivelyy down on the ground and rolled a few feet away from the


    ape before he stood up once again with a pale face.


    No sooner had the battle started than the two highest level members of the Evil Ape Hunting Team


    were beaten back simultaneously. Everyone was startled by the ape''s terrible power.


    And if one were to notice things, Marvin''s situation seemed worse. Though, that did not mean Ralf was


    more powerful than Marvin. It was merely because Ralf''s weapon gave him a little advantage.


    His chain was longer and therefore, was more suited for a long-range attack. In contrast, Marvin''s jade


    fan was shorter and this meant that he had to attack the evil ape at a close range. This was proving a


    Herculean task as the ape could have swatted him down like a fly.


    "Don''t do hand-to-handbat against it! Try to engage it with hit-and-run style strategy."


    Ralf yelled at the others.


    Without hesitation, Marvin immediately took out a glittering silver trident.


    This was a spiritual weapon!


    As Marvin waved his silver trident, it was shining with a soft vital energy light.


    From that bright glow, everyone immediately recognized that it was a spiritual weapon. Since spiritual


    weapons were extremely rare, they guessed that this was a low-grade spiritual weapon of level one.


    Spiritual weapons yed an important role for cultivators in battles.


    Austin swallowed his saliva with his eager eyes fixed at Marvin''s trident.


    He had yearned for a spiritual weapon for a long time, but even a low-grade spiritual weapon of level


    one was a luxury for him to afford.


    After taking out the trident, Marvin became a lot more confident and rushed towards the evil ape.


    The rest of the team also besieged the beast. There were six people in the group and all of them were

    It pped madly at the crowd with its huge palms, turning everything into a mess due to the shock

    The stones were stomped into pieces, and several stone pieces found themselves flying all the way


    over to the group.


    In a short while, the ape had already been attacked by hammer, saber, sword, trident and chain, and a


    lot of vital energy had already filled the air.


    No one dared to confront its attack head-on, though. They all tried to dodge away, and even if they


    couldn''t avoid ape, they resisted its attack nheless.


    All six of them were united like never before since they knew that their chances were slim already and if


    a single one of them got hurt, sess would be farther away from them. Moreover, not only would they


    fail to get the earth spirit fruits, they would also be killed mercilessly.


    Besides, there was probably another evil ape hiding somewhere, ready to attack them at any time.


    So, as soon as someone was in distress, the others would try their best to save him.
