Chapter 6 : A New Job


    Anaya finished her chores in the evening and went to the market to get some groceries from the nearby


    supermarket.She walked alone under the setting sun and entered the supermarket.She picked up


    some vegetables, meat and fruits and bread.


    Everything was reasonably priced and she picked them after making sure they were of good quality.


    At the check out counter Anaya saw a packet of cookies that looked good.She wanted to buy them but


    she had no money.


    The money given by her mother were for the groceries and the bill will be checked once she gets


    home.


    The cookies were not affordable, even though they were only three dors.


    Anaya checked out her grocery and held the heavy bags in both arms as she walked back home.She


    walked carefully but the shoes she wore were worn out.


    The soles wereing out and it was hard to walk with heavy things.


    Halfway through the walking Anaya had to stop and fix her shoe.She was a bitte so after reaching


    home Anaya quickly arranged the groceries and gave the bill and the leftover money to her mother.


    Ginny checked the bill and the money and let Anaya have dinner in the attic.


    Dinner was cold tomato soup and bread.


    It was good enough to keep her full.


    After all it was Anaya who came backte.


    No one was going to heat up the soup for her or toast Anaya quickly cleaned up the dishes in the night


    itself.She had to go work the next day.


    Beingte would only cause more problems, so she didn''t want to take any chances.


    Anaya went to sleep after midnight and promptly woke up at four in the morning.


    "I don''t want to go to work." Anaya spoke to herself after she woke up.


    Her sleep cycle was messed uppletely.


    A few hours of sleep was what she would usually get but it was not enough for her.


    As a growing she wolf, she needed more nutrition and sleep but she didn''t get either.


    Anaya decided to make peace with whatever she had right now and went to finish off the chores at


    home.She didn''t even know how much money she would be making by working at the alpha''s house.


    Not like it mattered because in the end all the money will be handed over to her mother.


    Anaya wore a baggy top and an equally baggy pair of pants to work.She found a piece of bread in the


    pantry that had been sitting for a while now and took it with her to eat on the way.


    In the living room Ginny was carefully braiding Charlotte''s hair for a friend''s party.


    Anaya stood by the front door and looked back again.


    Ginny was talking sweetly to Charlotte and asking what she would like for lunch.


    Charlotte had skipped school today but no one scolded her for it.


    That sweet voice was never directed towards Anaya, not once did she ask Anaya what she liked to eat.


    Anaya turned around and It was only eight thirty in the morning but it seemed like everyone was awake


    at this time.


    Anaya walked the streets, trying not to make eye contact with anyone.


    Anaya had dropped out of school but when she used to attend sses there was nock of bullies.


    Not only was her life at home pitiful but it was the same outside as well.


    Anaya reached the Alpha’''s house which was just at the end of the street.It was a two storey house


    with a small courtyard.


    Their pack wasn''t rich, the Alpha''s house wasn''t too impressive either.


    Anaya never ventured out of the pack so she didn''t know how topare her Alpha’s house with the


    other Alpha''s in other packs.


    For her this was the biggest house in the pack.


    She pressed the bell and the front door opened.

    Anaya looked down immediately as the one standing before her was the Luna of their pack.


    "Good morning Luna Esther."


    Anaya greeted in a low voice, "I am here for work.My mother must have spoken to you yesterday."


    Luna Esther remembered looking for a maid.She looked Anaya up and down and approved.She had


    seen Anaya before during a pack gathering.She was serving drinks and drinks to the guests and must


    have experience.


    "Come in."


    Anaya followed Luna Esther inside, her eyes casted low.


    Luna Esther showed her the areas where she had to work.It was mainly "Every morning you have to


    collectundry from the rooms and wash them.Breakfast is made by the cook at nine am so wash the


    dishes after that.Clean the house after that but don''t go into the rooms.Just clean the living room and


    hallways.Your shift will end at two pm.You will be given lunch here.The weekly sry is fifteen dors."


    Anaya nodded to everything she said.


    Fifteen dors a week was lower than she expected but her mother must have agreed to this


    arrangement so Anaya didn''t refute it.


    "You can start with theundry for today.It has already been collected so get started."


    Luna Esther went back to the open living room to watch her tv drama.


    Anaya took a deep breath and went to theundry room.A big basket of clothes was ced in the small


    room.


    Anaya first sorted all the clothes and then washed them ordingly in the machine.It was a big bunch


    of clothes so it took her two hours to wash and dry all of them.


    Anaya took a small break to nimble on the bread once she got hungry.


    While she did theundry, breakfast was done.


    Anaya handed the clean and driedundry to the housekeeper aunty and went to clean the


    dishes.Fifteen dors a week was too low for this much work.
