Chapter 16: After A Week Of Rest

*VENUS''s POV*
Since the ceremony, a week flew by. Nobody told us why we were given one week''s rest after the
tournament. My only guess was that it was their way of relieving some trauma we acquired from the
levels.
Well it''s not like we were traumatized at this point.
"Venus! Wanna go hunt?" Jojo jumps into my bed. "My friends told me they''ll be hunting Verits tonight!"
Why does this kid keep bothering me?
"Haven''t I always told you not to invade my privacy?" I said and buried my face on my pillow.
Unluckily, i couldn''t seem to report anything worth good in my stay here. Shaka must be waiting for a
message, but I have still yet to discover the whole pack since we''re still off-limits to many areas. I can''t
go anywhere now since the security was still high on alert after my failed attempt to assassinate their
alpha.

I sighed in frustration.
It''s already annoying that I have to share a room with three guys. What makes it worse is that these
guys don''t seem to get along that well. Their personalities just sh!
A loud thud echoed around the room. I nced at the situation.
Ah.. there they go again.
"Hey nerd, how many fucking times did I tell you not to touch my things?!" Noah exims.
"If you hadn''t crossed the boundary which you drew yourself, then maybe I wouldn''t have to throw your
trash to your side?" Liam says in azy tone.
He''s right, though. When we first realized we would be roommates, Noah was quick to get the
enormous bed, biggest space in the room. Although Easton said living here was just temporary, Noah
still insisted on being picky.
Knowing that, i picked the farthest bed away from Noah. I mean, i knew it wasn''t just me. Liam was too
unbothered to even care about Noah. That''s why he didn''t care that he was literally sleeping next to an
noisy animal.
Noah bursts into anger and grabs Liam by the cor. "You-"
"Enough." Easton sighs as he enters the room. "It''s already been a week. Can''t we all just get along?"
"Shut up," Noah replied.
"Yeah yeah, Well, since one week rest is over. We''re being called to the training grounds by Alpha
Derek. Make sure to get ready before 7."
Ugh. I just want to sleep because of these noisy people.
I raised an eyebrow, "Really? At this time? 7 pm? isn''t training usually morning?"
"Alpha just got back from Pack Business, so he wants to see how you''re all coping from a week''s rest.
Don''t worry, there''s no training yet, that''s for tomorrow. Today, it''s just a quick introduction." He says
and closes the door behind him.
Hmm, so that''s why I haven''t caught a glimpse of him for a week now. So he was really not in Crescent
Moon Pack.
Finally, i can meet him again!

*EASTON''s POV*
"Alpha, I''ve already told them," I said as soon as I arrived at the ce. Alpha Derek was leaning down
on a weapons rack and nodded to me.
"Good, did anything happen in my absence?"
"Not that I''m aware. But it''s just a few bickerings from my squad. They don''t seem to like the idea of
sharing a room." I chuckled.
Each day gets worse. I remember the first time Noah heard we''ll all be sharing a room. He threw a fuss
and made beef with everyone. Though not everyone entertained his behavior, it was still funny how
Noah could consistently not adapt to the situation.
"What did you say? Share a room together?" Alpha Derek''s tone changes. "All four of you? Including...
her?"
I tilted my head in confusion. "Yes Alpha,"
"What!" He suddenly exims. The weapons on his side fall that he didn''t even spare a nce to it. He
crosses his arm and res at me. "Why aren''t I aware of this?"
He doesn''t remember?
I sighed. "Alpha Derek, when I asked you about the neers'' headquarters long before the
tournament even began, you''re the one who arranged that we all sleep in the same room to get along?
Did you already forget?"
"Shit." His eyes widened, he heavily sighed. "If I knew there''ll be a she-wolf among the neers,
then I wouldn''t have said that."
I grinned. He always says he doesn''t care about Venus but look how angry he looks right now.
And so, i started to tease him.
"Toote alpha, Venus really likes staying with us. Sometimes she even crawls up to one of our beds
since she gets scared of lightning. of course, I''m a good guy, so nothing happens but the others-"
"WHAT ABOUT THE OTHERS?!" He fumes.
I couldn''t hold back theughter that i just burst out. My hands-on my stomach, I tried my best to cover
my mouth as a sign of respect.
"You-" He flinched when he realized it. "You dare mess with your alpha like this! Give me 500!"
I gasped. "Right now?"
"Don''t make me repeat myself."
I got so scared to the point that I fell down and started to do 500 push-ups. I didn''t dare stop or catch a
breath since somebody would literally stop my breathing if i did. After a while, Venus and the others
finally arrive.
"498...."
Slowly, I nced at my squad and noticed them looking at me with a confused expression. They must
be trying to guess the situation since Alpha Derek was looking at me intensely while i do push-ups.
Ah, i''m so tired.
I didn''t even notice that i got too immersed in my thoughts that i stopped doing it.
Holy shit-
"Who says you could stop? Do another 500!"
At that point, I had no choice but to request help from myrades. I quickly looked at Venus and
begged her to help me through mindlink.
["Help me! You''re the only one who can stop him!"]
She raised an eyebrow. [-No way, he hates me. You''re just trying to get me in trouble.-]
["No! I promise! Look! Look! I''ll do anything you want just for once okay?! Just help me this time!"]
She smirks. [-Really, anything?-]

Out of nowhere, Alpha Derek grabs my neck in anger. His eyes had already turned ck from hatred
and he hissed, "Who told you to mindlink someone in front of me?"
"I..I''m sorry Alpha!"
Damn, he''s really venting his anger on me just because I teased him a little?!
And just as I was about to give up on life. Venus stepped in and ced her hand on top of his. Alpha
Derek quickly reacts and lets go of me in a hurry, then looks at his hand where Venus touched in
disgust.
At that time, I was confused why Alpha Derek avoided her excessively. I thought Alpha Derek was
interested in her, so what''s with the reaction?
And just things were already worse, Venus raises her chin up, "We were told toe here for a quick
introduction, not a show where you can murder your people in front of us. At least give us a heads up
about what''s going on, Alpha Derek."
I gasped in horror.
