Chapter 27- Amara


    I woke up in the morning with my rm ring in my ears. I am still feeling really dejected about


    yesterday''s incident. I am sure it''s showing on my face. Papa and Ryder knew something is wrong but


    knew I wanted to be left alone yesterday. But I am not sure anymore. I knew them for a really short


    period of time but the thought of rejection is depressing. I thought I will have a human family again but it


    went down the drain really quickly. I will get over it anyway. I always do. Smile Amara, smile. Keep


    smiling. Everything is going to be just fine. I checked my phone and there were texts from the Knights


    and Elena. There were a couple texts from Alec too.


    ''See you at school.'' from Oliver, Natalie and Elena.


    ''I aming to pick you up. You better exin yourself kid.'' from Alex.


    What does he mean by that? I will find out soon anyway. I am not ready for an interrogation right now. I


    did my morning routine and got ready for school. I ate cereal as I was not in a mood of cooking. I


    reached the door knob of the front door to open it, but it opened before I can. Alex came in and sat on


    the sofa in the front room.


    "What do you want?" I am really not in a good mood.


    "Where were you yesterday and Sunday and Saturday night as well?" he asked.


    How does he know I wasn''t here from Saturday night? Is this guy spying on me?


    "I was out of town." I replied in a monotone.


    "Don''t you dare lie to me kid. Your face is saying everything. Something is bothering you. You look so


    depressed and wretched." I don''t want to get my hopes up again and get myself crushed.


    "Why do you care?" I snapped.


    "I am just worried about you. I came here Saturday night and you weren''t here. I came here Sunday


    evening as well, but you weren''t here again. Then you missed school on Monday as well. I was worried


    that something might have happened to you. You are not going out of that door without telling me what


    happened." He said stubbornly.


    “Oh really. Then both of us are not going to school today.” I replied coldly.


    “But why are you not telling me? I was worried sick about you. You look like something is killing you


    from the inside.” He said concerned.


    "I can''t tell you." I said sighing.


    "Please. I can''t see you like this. You are like a sister to me. Whoever is responsible for this, I am surely


    going to ughter them." He said seriously.


    Iughed," You don''t have to ughter anyone. You don''t know the entire truth."


    "What are you hiding Amy? I swear I won''t judge you." He said expectantly.


    Should I tell him? If he wants to leave, he can leave right now. I won''t have to face this rejection in the


    future. It will all be over at once. But am I ready for losing more people? If he finds out any other way,


    he will feel betrayed, they all will. He is already a part of this world so it won''t be a problem. I should get


    over with it before it''s toote. I hope he understands. I know they are enemies but still a person can


    hope. If it doesn''t work out as I expected, I can get back to how it was before. I turned around showing


    him my back and undid the buttons of my shirt and lowered it off of my left shoulder so my pack mark


    was visible to him.


    "Why are you showing me your tattoo?" he asked.


    I buttoned my shirt and faced him. Confusion crossed over his face but passed as soon as it came.


    "I know you know what that tattoo means." I said.


    "But it''s impossible. You are human." He dered.


    "I didn''t say I am not human." I said taking a deep breath.


    "Then what does it mean? Because I am one hundred percent sure you are not a werewolf." He said


    confused.


    "We have school and we will gette." I said biting my lip. Why can’t he just let it be how it is? Why


    does he have to know everything? I know I am chickening out but I don’t want anyone to pity me or be


    scared of me.


    "We can skip first period. Just tell me already." He said stubbornly.


    I told him everything till yesterday. All the time, looking towards my feet. When I looked up at him, he


    looked furious. His face looked murderous. He was looking at the wall in front of us. He might drill a


    hole in the wall with that look. So he is angry at me too. Of course, they are enemies. I should have


    known this. This time I could''t stop myself from crying. He looked towards me, his eyes wide.


    "You can go if you want. I can understand. I am sort of from your enemy family. You must be hating me


    right now for deceiving you." He hugged me.

    "What the hell are you talking about? Why would I hate you?" he asked confused.


    "But you looked angry." I mumbled griping his shirt in my fists.


    "I am not angry at you. I am angry at the guy who calls him your mate and those bastard werewolves


    and your parents also and Elena too. How can they do this to you?" he spat angrily.


    "Don''t be mad at Elena. She is trying to get in terms with me. I can see it in her eyes that she regrets


    what she did. Please. She is not a bad person." I pleaded. I don’t want to take her mate away from her.


    "I will talk to herter. You have us. Don''t you ever feel lonely. You have all of us including your papa,


    your brother, your uncle and aunt and Alec too. Okay?" he said soothingly.


    "Yeah. Thank you so much." I replied, relieved.


    "You don''t have to thank me. Are you feeling okay?" he asked.


    "Yup. We should go to the school though or we will miss the second period as well." I said wiping my


    eyes.


    "Okay. But are you sure you want to go?" he asked.


    "I will be fine. Let me freshen up, so I will look less horrid." I joked.


    Heughed and nodded. I washed my face and we went to the school. My face is still flushed and eyes


    are red and puffy. He went to his ss and I went to mine which is calculus. I entered the ss with my


    head down and sat at my usual seat which is beside Aaron. Oh well, this is going to be awkward. He


    looked towards me when I took my seat. His expressions changed. He looked worried and guilty. I must


    be looking hideous. He was about to say something but the teacher came in and started teaching. Iid


    my head on the table and closed my eyes. Crying always makes me sleepy. I slept through the lecture.


    The sound of bell woke me up. I picked my bag and was about to leave, but Aaron stopped me.


    "Amy are you alright?" he asked worried.


    "Yeah.", I said smiling. Fake or real, it''s still a smile. I don''t want him to feel bad.


    "You don''t look good though. We can go home if you want." He said looking at my puffed eyes and


    flushed face.


    We. Are you for real?


    "Why would youe with me? Carter won''t like it or more like allow it. You don''t even have to talk to


    me if you want. I don''t want to be a problem in your rtionship." I said smiling but I know my face


    must have deceived me.


    "What the hell are you talking about? And who the hell is he to tell me whom to talk to and whom to


    not? If he has a problem with you, he can suck it up.” He said angrily “I am sorry for yesterday. I didn''t


    mean it that way. Please don''t be indifferent with me. You are my best friend and I am not going to


    leave you ever." He apologized.


    I am stoked. I hugged him really tight.


    "I thought you will leave me too." I said relieved that he wants to be with me.


    "You are not getting rid of me ever in your life." he said in a sassy way.


    Weughed and went to our next ss. I can''t express how happy I am right now. I thought today will


    be a bad day but it turned out to be one of the best. On the top though, will always be the day I met


    papa and the others.
