Chapter 42- Amara


    “Oh no I am not human. I never was.” She said smirking at him.


    And then she was glowing but her energy was weak. I caught on. She is trying to buy time. Her glow


    diminished in a second and she was leaning on Ryder lightly but her face showed nothing of her


    weaknesses. That must be taking a toll on her human body.

    “You are a spirit walker.” Vincent looked agitated for once. “I had you in the palm of my hand and I let


    you go. I would have been powerful way before this than waiting for this long for one to be born.”


    Vincent was losing it. “I can’t wait anymore. I will deal with youter. First I have to kill the mate of my


    price.”


    With that being said he lunged at Steven. Steven pushed me out of the way before Vincent could reach


    us. There was a huge impact and they went rolling down the shore. Steven tried but Vincent was older


    and more experienced than him. Steven was already bleeding badly. Vincent was beating him non-


    stop. I could feel Steven’s pain. I need to do something. I can’t take this anymore. I growled at Vincent


    when he held Steven by his neck. I knew he was about about to snap it. He looked me in the eye and


    snapped Steven’s neck smirking. I lost it.


    I shifted before I could contemte what was happening. My mind was taken over by rage. He killed


    my mate. I will kill him. I will tear him to pieces. That took Vincent by shock. He just stood there looking


    at me with wide eyes. I knocked into him quite forcefully making him fly almost twenty feet away. I


    stood over Steven to protect his body. Vincent got up and looked at my snarling self in wonder. He had


    blooding out of his mouth and nose.


    “You are wonderful.” Vincent said making me hurl in disgust. “You are more powerful than I thought.


    With your mate gone, I will have you as mine.”


    Vincent looked like he was about to pee his pants in excitement. He is truly disgusting to even walk this


    earth. I absolutely repulse him. Never in my life did I thought I will hate someone so much. I felt this


    power course through me and I noticed my fur had started to glow. I felt papa’s presence as well. He


    was lending me his strength too. I felt powerful.


    “Ryder help the others. I will handle it here. Take mom to safety first and don’t let anyone escape.”


    I felt Steven heal. Ryder left with mom. Vincent was so engrossed in staring at me that he didn’t even


    notice that. I moved Steven near the tree line for safety and growled at Vincent in challenge after I


    knew mom was gone.


    “I will beat you to submission darling.” He said excited.


    He charged at me. I stood my ground with my hackles raised. He jumped in the air with his fist in the air


    but I bit him on his midrif before he could make contact with me. I sunk my teeth in his stomach and


    shook him ferociously with my head. He was screaming in pain. Hended a solid blow on my muzzle


    taking me by surprise. It didn’t hurt that much but he had seeded in escaping my jaws. I spat the


    chunk of his stomach from my mouth and moved my eyes to him. For once he looked terrified and


    ready to run. I won’t let him though. I noticed something. His movements were slower and his attacks


    were less powerful.


    “No. You are faster and stronger.” Papa said in my head.


    That exins it. Vincent turned around and made a run for it. I took a sprint after him and ripped his


    head clean off of his body. I spat the head out and tore his limbs into pieces to make sure he won’t


    regenerate. I knew he was dead but I wasn’t satisfied. I tore piece after piece from his body. My muzzle


    was coated with his blood.


    “He is dead love.” Steven’s voice pulled me out of my murderous state.


    I didn’t think anymore and ran towards my mate. I jumped on him, licking his face ferociously.


    “Eww! That’s gross.” He said trying to stop me but I continued my licking him. “We need to burn the


    body love and help others as well.”


    That stopped me. We went near Vincent’s body and Steven set it on fire. We ran towards the clearing


    where the fight was going on to find Vincent’s vampires trapped in the force field and Ryder killing them


    inside it. They couldn’t see him attack. They looked scared shitless. So Grayson had seeded in


    killing the warlock. I looked around to find everyone alive and breathed a sigh of relief. They were


    injured but nothing too serious. Now time to help my brother. I entered the force field much to Steven’s


    dismay. I can feel his heated re on me. I started killing the vampires. They were too many though.


    I felt someone enter the force field. For a moment I thought it’s mom but then I saw another golden wolf


    tearing the vampires. Ryder growled in frustration. Xander is in a huge mess now. I hope Ryder won’t


    punish him too hard. Who am I kidding? I don’t want Xander on the battle field either. I tore thest


    vampire in front of me and looked towards the duo. Ryder was growling at a very scared Xander.


    Xander was whimpering and shaking in fright. I felt the force field being removed.


    How the hell did Xander get out? He isn’t an adult yet. First things first. I need to save him from my


    snarling brother. Leo, Stanley, Austin and Steven started collecting the scattered body parts to set them


    on fire. I walked towards the wolf spirit duo. As soon as I walked near, Xander sprinted under my legs


    to hide from Ryder. Now I am in the firing line. Shifting back to my human form won’t be a good idea


    now.


    “Get away from him Amara. I need to punish him for what he did.” Ryder snarled.


    Ohh full name. Ryder is really mad. I felt Xander quiver in fear. I licked his head to calm him down.


    “Let it be Ryder. He is scared. Besides he is just a kid.” I tried to reason.


    “Stop spoiling him so much.” Ryder said in a very jealous tone.


    “I am not spoiling him. You need to calm down first.” I told him.


    Ryder huffed and looked at us as I licked Xander’s head.


    “Howe you never did that to me?” Ryder asked ring usingly at Xander after huffing and


    puffing for a little while.


    I wanted tough so bad but I controlled myself. He would bust my ass ifughed at him now.


    “I swear to god Ryder. You are a pup in a grown wolf’s body. I literally shifted a couple days ago. How


    was I supposed to groom you before?” I said shaking my head at him.


    He just looked at me expectantly. Is he really expecting me to lick him? Looking at him it looks like he


    is. Xander’s tail was tickling my legs as he was shaking it really fast. I nodded to Ryder toe


    forward and moved away from Xander making him whimper. Ryder sat down and I started grooming


    him which he didn’t need off course but who’s going to tell him that. He was actually purring.


    Sometimes I wonder if he will ever grow up. Wait a minute.


    “How did you get out of there Xander?” I asked.


    Ryder growled in protest as I stopped licking him.


    “Thatdy helped me out.” Xander said nodding towards mom.


    Now I was mad. Which sane person lets a kid fight in a battle field?


    “What the hell mom?” I shouted at her. “Why the hell would you let him pull out of safety?”


    “He wanted to.” She said shrugging like it’s no big deal.


    “He is a pup. How could you let him in a battle?” I growled at her.


    “He can handle himself just fine Amy.” She said to me.


    I huffed at her in annoyance. You would be saying otherwise if it was Alec or dad in Xander’s ce.


    “Are you mad at me Aunty Amy?” Xander asked in a small voice.


    My poor baby.


    “No sweet heart. I am just worried about you. You are still a pup after all.” I told him.


    “You don’t need to worry about me aunty Amy. I am strong.” He said puffing his chest.


    “Of course you are sweetie.” I cooed at him nuzzling into him.


    I heard Ryder huff. His jealous ass just won’t stop. I do need to check on the injured as well.


    “I will be right back.” I told my brother and nephew.


    I shifted back into my human form. Steven handed me arge t- shirt and shorts which I slipped on.


    Grayson had a nasty cut on his face and torso. For a old man he has got quite a body. I healed him


    quickly and moved on to check the others. Their injuries were already to the point of none.


    “We actually pulled that off.” Carter said grinning widely.


    That was enough to set everyone inughing fits. Steven circled his arms around me. I snuggled into


    him, breathing in his scent. This is where I want to be, in my mate’s arms and with my pack.
