Chapter 2- Amara


    “Thank you sir. A waiter will bring your order to you in fifteen minutes.” I said smiling hopefully to the

    Aaron is serving at the moment and I am filling in for Cara at the counter or I would be serving as well.


    She had a medical emergency today. Apparently her four year old has managed to chuck a piece of


    crayon up his nose. The end of September is nearing and that means Asher’s birthday ising. He


    still hasn’t gotten over the ‘me going to college’ thing. He has ignored my calls for two months. He has


    just started talking to me again like a week ago. He seemed distant though. I am dreading the fact that I

    won’t be able to meet him for his birthday and as the budget is tight I don’t think I will be able to send


    him any gift. Uhhh kill me now.


    Aaron and I, have found a job at this café the very first week we arrived here. Yeah we had decided to


    take it easy for the week but we stumbled upon it when we came here for a coffee while we were


    looking around the city. Millie’s Café is a medium sized café. It is situated three blocks from our


    apartment. It has a warm feeling to it with its cream colored walls and dark brown wooden tables and


    chairs. The walls are adorned with simple wall murals of various beverages and snacks. There is a


    famous around here. We are never out of customers.


    The bell tinged and in came Steven with his conquest of the day. A blond bimbo with a really short skirt


    and a crop top barely bellow her massive breasts. Are those even real? Following them was Steven’s


    friend, Austin. Steven gave me an icy re and stocked off towards his usual table with the girl. Don’t


    get me wrong. Steven is HOT, like runway hot. He has pale green eyes that can suck you in with pale


    skin and charcoal ck hairs thatplements his other features. He has a sharp jaw and a straight


    nose. He looks unbelievably perfect. He is a foot taller than me and ripped with eight packs and a nice


    ass. The only problem is that he doesn’t seem to like Aaron and me from the first nce. The first


    morning we met, he had made it clear that we should keep our distance from him. Cassidy wasn’t really


    happy about it but she let it go. He has a cold exterior and is aplete man whore. Every single time


    wee face to face, which is really rare, he sends me an icy re that can chill anyone to the bone


    marrow.


    “Hey.” Austin said smiling at me.


    Oh! Those dimples. If I hadn’t had a mate back home, I would have jumped his bones any minute.


    “Hey. What can I get you today?” I asked smiling at him.


    “I will have one Caramel Frappino, an Americano and a hot coffee.” He said in his British ent to


    which I wrote down his order. “So how you been?”


    “Good. How about you?” I replied.


    He gave me the money after I gave him his receipt.


    “Thriving.” He said grinning at me, putting his dimples on show and his gray eyes warm enough to drive


    away the effects of Steven’s re.


    Those dimples should be banned immediately.


    “Your order will be with you in ten minutes.” I said blushing madly.


    He nodded and left to his table. Steven on the other hand was openly ring at me despite all the


    efforts of his new bed mate, who was practically on hisp by now and was doing anything she can to


    get his attention. I shrugged and removed my apron as I saw the person who will be taking over me


    arrive. He is cute sixteen year old boy, shy to the core. I gave him a smile which he returned and went


    to the back room get my stuff. Aaron was already there looking tired out of his mind. It was ten past


    seven in the evening. On week days our shift starts at three in the afternoon and ends at seven in the


    evening. On weekends though it starts at ten in the morning and ends at six in the evening. They pay


    us nine dors an hour so the pay is good.


    “I am dead tired.” Aaron grumbled on the way to our apartment.


    I wasn’t feeling any different and I had three assignments toplete. Thank god it’s Saturday


    tomorrow or I would have been in a huge trouble. The assignments are due Monday so I have enough


    time toplete them. Asher’s birthday is only a week away. I would be lying if I would say I am not


    scared. Asher is acting very differenttely. Is he having second thoughts about me? But he can’t right.


    I mean he marked me. We haven’tpleted the mating part but it’s because I am not even eighteen


    yet. I want to wait till I am atleast eighteen. He seemed to understand that. Well I will find out soon


    anyways.


    We reached our apartment to find Cassidy and Grayson about to enter their car. Grayson is a hunk. His


    hair had started to grey and he stands at six foot with brown eyes and beautifully tanned skin. He is


    really cool and has perfectly visibleugh lines. He cane as a little intimidating but he ispletely


    opposite.


    “We are going on a little vacation.” Cassidy told us excitedly as soon as we reached them. Grayson


    smiled fondly at his wife’s antics. “We will be back by next Friday. Take care of the house for us okay?


    Take care of yourself too. You two work too much. Take a day off or something.” She finished frowning.


    “We will Cas.” I replied grinning.


    “Okay then we will get going.” She said bouncing on her feet, making usugh.


    That’s Cassidy for you. She is childish, caring and a really sweetdy. Her husband is no different.


    Once I had walked on them fighting for a mars bar, which they had a lot but they wanted the one the


    other wanted. I hadughed myself hoarse that day.


    “I have already told Steven about this. I told him to look after you for me.” I am about to turn eighteen


    and Aaron is already neen but she still treats us like ten year olds. No wonder Steven looked so


    mad back at the café. “If he bullies you call me Asap.” She said giving us a thumbs up.


    They entered their car and zoomed off. I am dreading a week with Steven without Cassidy and


    Grayson. Well we will be busy with sses and work so it’s not like we will be seeing each other often.


    Besides Steven is only home at night that too when he has some chick to bang. I sighed and entered


    our new home with Aaron in tow. I took a shower after Aaron and started on preparing our dinner. After


    the dinner I changed into my pjs like Aaron. Aaron flopped on his lower bunk and was snoring


    immediately. I on the other texted Asher ‘Hey’. I waited for his reply for half an hour.


    ‘Hey! I am really tired and I am turning in early. Good night. Love you’ he texted back.


    ‘Okay. Good night. Love you too.’ I replied.


    He seems really busytely. It must be really hard for him juggling between pack stuff and work. Carter


    told Aaron the other day that the vampire sightings has been increased past two months in the


    Greycoast forest. Nobody knows why but they don’t seem to cause any harm to anyone but the pack


    has increased their patrol just in case. I sighed and closed my eyes. Everything will be alright.
