Chapter 41- Arabe


    I sighed and made my way inside uncle Leo’s house. The others dispersed as well and Ethan followed


    me inside. Faye and Hugo were sitting in the living room with Linda and Thomas, Uncle Leo’s parents.


    All of them looked a little ufortable. I wonder why.


    “What the heck are you following us for?” Ethan sneered behind me.


    I turned around to find a very panicked Francis standing at the door.


    “Um we were going to take the food together?” Francis said it more like a question with a trembling


    voice.


    “We were just trying to get you out of there so our uncle or dad won’t end up beating you up.” I told him


    in a cold voice. “They had that look in their eyes.”


    I shuddered thinking about what had happened if we had left Francis there.


    “But Luna…” He started but I cut him.


    “Hold it right there. Who the heck are you calling Luna? I am not anything to you other than the girl you


    can no longer bully.” I sneered at him.


    He shrunk back a little but didn’t back down.


    “But you are Zeno’s mate.” He mumbled.


    I scoffed and Ethan snorted pretty rudely.


    “So?” I asked nonchntly.


    I wanted my mate too but I can’t have him ever. Ajax can’t be with me anymore and Zeno is an entirely


    different story. His repugnance for me can only be rivaled by my loathing for him.


    “What do you mean by ‘so’?” Francis said outraged. “He is your mate. That means you are his mate as


    well.” Well thank you mister obvious. “That makes you our Luna. You have a responsibility towards the


    pack. You can’t just bail on us like that. How could you even think about abandoning your pack?”


    Ethan clenched his fists.


    “Why don’t you go learn some human decency first and thene to me asking about my


    responsibilities?” I said with a nk face. Francis looked like someone pped him in the face. “At


    least I have enough manners to treat a fellow human with respect and out of only that shred of


    humanity are you standing here, using and pointing fingers at me or you would be six feet under


    and rotting in your cascade.”


    That shut him up. He hung his head and turned around to leave.


    “I know what you did was not on your own ord and you were just doing that for Zeno but supporting


    your friend in wrongdoings makes you as much responsible for it as him.”


    I said with a firm voice. He nodded with his back to us and walked out of the door, closing it behind him.


    I only got a second to breath and I was engulfed in the arms of Ethan.


    “Get off Ethan. What the hell? Stop crushing me.” I mumbled against his chest, struggling to make him


    let go.


    “I am so proud of you.” Ethan squealed letting me go. Um okay. What has gotten into this one? “Why


    didn’t you do that earlier? They wouldn’t have been able to walk all over you like that.”


    “Mom had told me to keep it low and to keep out of spotlight. Something about being what I am.” I told


    him shrugging.


    He nodded.


    “You can do all the things mom can?” he asked excited.


    “Not yet but someday I will. Mom will retire and I will take over.” I replied bouncing on my toes.


    I am really excited about the things I could do when I will get the full grasp of my powers. I will be as


    cool as mom.


    “Amy raised you all really well.” Aunt Ste’s voice made me realize that we are not at our home and I


    blushed in embarrassment. “You have a really good rtionship with each other despite not being


    rted by blood. No one will ever suspect that part after looking at you all. My children never had that


    bond. Well not at least with Zeno. He has always been aloof and kept to himself.”


    She handed us the packed food.


    “It doesn’t matter if we are rted by blood or not. She is our sister and no one can tell us otherwise. I


    will do anything to keep her happy and I know for sure that she will do the same for me.” Ethan said


    aunt Ste with a small strained smile.


    He does not like being anyone bringing up the part that we are not blood rted. None of us like that.


    We are siblings. Blood or not. We don’t mind it or as a matter of fact even remember it then why should


    they? We are happy the way we are.


    I gave her a smile and thanked her as we left for the meeting house. On the way I saw Francis sitting


    outside his house with his face in his palm. His body was shaking a little.


    Is he crying?


    “Aren’t youing?” I asked him with less hostility than before.


    Ethan gave me an incredulous look but one look at Francis and he looked away like he didn’t see
