| stood by the window, the cool night air blowing against my face. It had been exactly two weeks since | hadst seen Alpha Kex.
Ever since the incident with Emily, | had not seen him. | had hoped that he would forgive me and things would go back to normal,
but as the days passed, | began to lose hope.
It was difficult to shake the feeling that | had ruined everything. | took a deep breath, trying to clear my head. | needed to focus
on the present, not dwell on the past.

standing there, his expression unreadable. My heart sank, and | swallowed the lump in my throat.
“Good evening, Alpha,” | said, bowing my head in respect.
But his face remained impassive, his expression impossible to read. | didn’t know what to expect from him.
“Pack your things,” he said, his voice cold andmanding. “We leave first thing in the morning.” With that, he mmed the
door behind him, and | let out a breath | didn’t know I''d been holding.
