Chapter 125: A Footprint From Another Narcissus

I wondered if there was any grand meaning behind all of this.

On one hand, it appeared that I would start to know more about the story behind the things that were rted to this new pretty-faced body of mine, no matter how badly strewn and connected they were.

On the other hand, it needed me to be in my most vulnerable state, where my consciousness wasid bare for all influence to seep and destroy.

Sometimes, the implication of the requirement to achieve it alone should be enough to warrant me to be cautious behind the design.

What did it want to tell me?

What was the symbolism behind it?

Should I even try to forcefully reduce my own Sanity in a much less dangerous scenario if I wanted to know more about that wicked tale?

Regardless, it seemed like this vision was nearing its end phase.

As of now, I was transported back to an empty space where no light and sky were abundant. It was somewhat simr to the ending of the first vision where my soul would get bombarded with the torrenting and conflicting emotion of Elisi and Yaria longing for one another.

Should I expect that it would be the same this time around? Or would there be any differences to keep it unforeseeable?

"Ah, I have reimed my voice back."

This meant that I also acquired some sort of physical vessel in thest phase of the vision.

Maybe to make my mind easier to ept something that would be introducedter.

    "Huh…"

I felt it before I saw it—a faint pulse of something behind me. In this world of endless darkness, where no light had touched my eyes for what felt like an eternity…

    I turned slowly.

And there it was, ying on the t dark surface, just behind me—a small rectangle of light in the ck void. A phone. A modern phone, glowing eerily, its screen casting an unnatural, sickly light that cut through the oppressive darkness.

The phone was the only thing visible in this forsaken ce, its edges sharp and slick, impossibly clean in a world that felt rotten and decayed. For some reason, it felt familiar, but I couldn''t really confirm my memory if this was something that I have before I became Narcissus.

The screen, however, told a different story. Smudged across the glowing surface were dark, almost dried streaks of something… thick and crimson.

    It was blood.

It smeared across the ss in jagged patterns, as though someone with trembling hands had frantically tried to wipe it away, only to leave it streaked and messy.

The light from the screen flickered, illuminating the gore, making it shimmer like fresh wounds under a harsh light.

The device hummed quietly, as if alive, as if waiting for something.

The blood-stained screen red back at me, mocking the silence.

    "This is…"

My eyestched on the literature content that was disyed on the screen.

''This should mark the second day I exist in this god-forsaken world, ording to how their time works.

Otherwise, this should be my third or fourth day if we use in-real-life time as reference.

At first, I was encouraged to try my best living here despite the absurd information pump that was thrashed into my mind the moment I got into this world, but that confidence started to wane a little bit.

Sure, I got that perfect face that would satiate my stupidplication before I started spasming and cutting people''s faces, but being forced to go through that horrible first ordeal was probably the most unpleasant experience that I had ever experienced in my whole life.

At some point, I started thinking if it would be a little bit different if I started somewhere where civilization exists, instead of being thrown directly in the middle of nowhere.

What was the purpose of telling me how good the food was in many citadels despite how apocalyptic the setting was if there weren''t any citadel within the proximity of 100 kilometers from here??

It also gave me a wishful thinking of having apanion. After all, regardless of our rtionship, it would be nice to have someone to either order around or just stay together to fight against the maddening ordeal of the midnight.

Maybe someone to share some knowledge and wisdom around, someone that I could rely to guard my back, and all of that jazz.

Not to mention, it was really stressful beyond belief to be in the state of no Sanity for more than ten hours straight. At that point, I started to see things that didn''t exist, which threw me off in many vital moments of my survival.

For one, I lost an arm because of that, and my godly dexterous hands were nerfed to the ground now.

I just hope that the next night won''t end with me scarring my perfect and beautiful face.

Otherwise, I might lose all of my reason to even live here in the first ce.

Because at that point, suicide sounds more enticing than whatever kind of hell that I was currently experiencing.''

    "What is this…"

It was simr to that of a diary—from someone that sounded to be in the same predicament as me, and having the memory and background simr to that of me.

However, if the statement within this diary-like log was anything, this Narcissus appeared to be facing the first Ordeal alone inparison to me who had Lupina and Verina by my side.

    Either that…

Or those two just never really came to Narcissus'' location by the guidance of that mysterious Divinator in the first ce.

Before I knew it, I appeared to have returned back to the cruel reality where I was fighting the Drowned Revenant for his end of submission.

"Huh, it seems like my body did more thing before simply giving in to the wave this time..."

It appeared that while I was unconscious, my instinct took reign and began piloting my body to just advance and swung my crumbled Stormhook and Blightpiercer Harpoon without any care for self-preservation.

Thankfully, the Valtherion''s Blood was still in the state of Forced Foreignization, meaning that it would still regard my own body as a foreign vessel, and thus heal it of any ailment that befell.

And looking at the amount of pain I experienced, and the amount of golden liquid that was drenching my body and soiling the oily ckwater sea, it seemed like I was more than careless when I was in my after-vision dazed state.

"Regardless." I confidently brandished my weapons, alongside a fair share of shit-eating grin that asionally appeared on my face. "I''m back to the ying field now~"

Although, I was practically naked at the moment, now that my Soulthread Aegis garb was damaged beyond repair—as in the form of crumbs of fabric that barely cover my skin.
