Chapter 59 Pain in the Ass
November 11th
I breathed a sigh of relief when I heard Leo''s deep, soft voice. A sigh of relief that was soon interrupted
when I also heard Xander''s thick Russian ent.
Well that was unexpected. How can they both be stood so close yet so civilised?
Shortly afterwards they both came into the living room looking like scruffy school boys with their shirts
half untucked, their ties loose around their necks and their hair going in every which direction.
Xander had a ck eye and a bit of blood at his nose whilst Leo had a slightly swollen bleeding lip and
the opposite ck eye.
"Disagreement over," Leo said calmly.
"Oh for goodness sake boys. Look at you both," Rosa said as I went to greet Leo. He pulled me into a
hug and kissed the top of my forehead. "Why must you fight?"
"I''m Alpha Xander," Xander said to Rosa and Antonio. "Your daughter''s mate."
Antonio shook his hand whilst Rosa eyed him suspiciously and I red at him for what he had done to
Leo.
"Xander has agreed to stay here until Be is happy to back with him to Russia. And I will need to be
here for the first night at least just as a precaution if that''s okay with you Mom?" Leo asked.
"As long as you promise not to beat any of my other sons up," Rosa said to Xander who smiled.
"I wouldn''t dream of it," Xander said his eyes on Be. She stood up and gingerly approached Xander.

He opened his arms out but didn''t forcefully pull her towards her.
I don''t know what had gone on during that half an hour Xander and Leo were together, but something
had certainly changed.
Be allowed Xander to hug her before showing him to her room. Beta Josef had gone back to Russia
to run the pack whilst Xander was away, Rosa went out to the grocery store to buy extra food for her
extra three guests including two Alphas, whilst Antonio went back to his office to do something or other
and Leo''s four brothers slowly filtered upstairs along with Lisa and Lia when they got home from the
mall. ir went home to Abi leaving just Leo, Luca and me in the kitchen.
"Where the fuck are Elena and Maria?" Leo said looking at his watch. "It''s gettingte."
"I''m sure they''re fine, Alpha," Luca said as he sat slumped on the sofa.
"They shouldn''t be out thiste alone," he continued.
"Leo for Christ''s sake!" I eximed. "Maria is 21 years old. And both of them can certainly handle
themselves."
"I''ll go and call them," he concluded after a few moments.
I rolled my eyes and exchanged looks with Luca as Leo marched into the office to the phone.
"He can''t help it," Luca said. "He''s a total control freak."
I looked over to Luca again to see him staring straight ahead. I''m not sure I''d ever seen him this
miserable and it took me a few moments to clock why.
"This is about Be, isn''t it?" I asked.
"What is?" he questioned.
"You. Being glum," I said sitting beside him. "I know you had a lil crush on her."
He blushed and smiled.
"And now she has a mate. And a dick of a mate too," he replied. "I know I was never going to be with
her but I wanted her to be with someone...at least nice."
"Oh Luca," I said. "Alpha Xander doesn''t seem so bad."
"So we''re just going to pretend he didn''t go on a rant about beating women earlier?" Luca asked.
"Okay but Leo put him straight," I replied. "He has punched up my mate and I don''t exactly like him
either but surely you can see he is notpletely terrible? Not as bad as Haden anyway..."
Luca sighed and shrugged.
"You know I made out with her once," Luca said in a hushed tone.
"What?!" I asked excitedly. "When?!"
"Mateo''s shifting party two years ago," he replied. "I was 16 and she was 15 and we went into the
woods together."
"Jesus Christ," I said. "You better not let Alpha Xander know about that...or Leo."
"I''d be fucking dead," he replied with augh. "But I kissed her before Xander did so in his face."
I rolled my eyes just before the door to the office opened.
"They''re on their way back," Leo said.
"Thank God for that," I muttered.
"I better be off," Luca said standing up. "See youter E," he added giving me a hug. "Bye Alpha."
The front door closed leaving just Leo and me in the kitchen.
I examined his face and sighed, "You need ice."
I walked over to the freezer and grabbed the first frozen item I could find which happened to be a bag
of peas.
"This will do," I said as he took his jacket off his shoulders and ced it on the kitchen table before
sitting on the worktop and allowing me to gently put the ice pack on his eye.
"Did he get you anywhere else?" I asked.
"Yep," Leo said lifting up his shirt and revealing bruises all the way up his muscr abs just like after
fighting Haden.
"Honestly Leo. Was there no better way to sort this?" I asked feeling like his mother. "You scared the
shit out of me and I can''t bear to see you getting hurt."
"Why do you think I ordered ir and Luca to take you out of there?" Leo asked.
"I still knew what was happening. In a way, it would have been better to stay. The anticipation almost
killed me," I said after getting another iced item out of the freezer which this time was sweetcorn.
"I don''t like it when you fight and now you''re an absolute mess," I said lifting up his shirt and putting the
ice pack on the bruises. He flinched slightly from the coldness.
"I''m sorry, okay?" he said lifting up my chin and pulling me further into his body.
I nodded my head and he leant forwards cing his lips on mine. My hand quickly found it''s self on his
chest whilst the other one was still under his shirt holding the icepack.
"Ew," Elena groaned as she and Maria walked through the door. I immediately stopped kissing Leo and
smiled awkwardly at his eldest two sisters.
"Leo, why are you making out on our kitchen worktop? Do you not have your own house?" Maria
asked.
"And why do you have a ck eye?" Elena asked.
"And why are you wearing a tie?" Maria asked.
"And why can I smell another Alpha in the house?" Elena asked.
"You''ve missed quite a lot little sisters," Leo said one of his hands still on my waist. "But more
importantly, where have you been?"
"We...went out for a walk," Elena said.
I, of course, knew exactly what they had been doing. Finding a suitable ce for the secret female
training camp.
"Why are you back sote?"
"What''s it to you?" Maria asked. "None of your business. You don''t even live here anymore"
"Still Alpha," Leo said.
"Still don''t care," Elena said with her middle finger up. "Now, are you going to tell us who''s scent that is
and who gave you those ghastly bruises or....?"
"Basically, Be found her mate, a Russian Alpha named Xander, who being your typical Alpha, wanted
to take her back to the pack immediately. I said no. We had a fight in my kitchen, I won and he agreed
to stay here until she''s happy to go with him which means in the meantime E and I are staying here
too," Leo exined very quickly.
"So Be''s mate, a Russian Alpha, is upstairs right now?" Elena asked.
"Precisely," Leo said.
"We''re gonna go and meet this Xander," Maria said rushing off towards the stairs dragging her sister
with her.
Leo looked out the window and narrowed his eyes, "It''s dark, raining and cold. Why would they go for a
walk?"
"Don''t worry about it, Leo," I said.
I saw a flicker of suspicion in his eyes but he brushed it off, probably decided he had had enough of
dealing with shit today.
Instead, he put one hand behind my neck and gently pulling me back into my lips.
One thing''s for sure: Leo was one damn good kisser.
And he had multiple different styles that could be chosen from to fit the situation. At the moment he was
going for slow and gently.
I felt his tongue enter my mouth and take control of the kiss, before things sped up a little.
"Where we prepare food? really?" Mateo''s voice interrupted. "All I wanted was a ss of water."
"Sorry Mateo," I said taking my hand off Leo''s chest.
Leo rolled his eyes, "There isn''t a moment of privacy in this house," he grumbled.
"There are 15 people in it, what do you expect?" Mateo asked getting a ss out the cupboard. "But
your best bet is probably the basement. The sofa down there may be old but it''sfortable enough."
"I''m not taking my Luna to the skanky old sofa you fuck all your one night flings on," Leo replied.
"Hey! I at least put a towel down. Unlike Carlos..." Mateo replied. "The amount of juices that must
umte in those pillows-"
"Can I just stop you there, Mateo?" I asked closing my eyes, trying not to imagine it. "Only I''m starting
to feel a bit physically sick."
Leoughed and kissed my forehead, "My brothers are whores. I''m sorry to taint your innocence with
such sin."
"We are not the ones tainting her innocence, Leonardo," Mateo said with a wink before leaving the
room with his ss of water.
I felt myself blush as Leo smiled, "You''re dirty, Mateo!" he called before looking down at me.
"Was it only your stomach and your face?" I asked inspecting Leo''s abs again.
He lifted my head up and cupped my face.
"E I''m fine. Xander needs an icepack much more than I do," he said smiling. "Trust me."
"Why do you Alphas like beating each other up?" I asked. "Can''t you sit down calmly and talk things
out?"
"We had to initiate dominance, E," Leo replied. "Now that we know that I am more powerful he will
never challenge me again."
"Haden did," I replied.
"He will never challenge again unless he''s totally stupid," Leo corrected.
After that, we went upstairs to check on Xander and Be who were innocently lying on her bed
watching a movie, before we headed down the hall to the usual guest room.
"Leo?" I asked as wey in the darkness his arms around me.
"Yes," he said softly his voice slightly muffled by the pillow.
"Did you really mean in when you said I coulde with you to the camp?" I asked.
"I did," he replied.
"Why?" I questioned. "You were so angry when Allison and I went. You looked like you could kill
someone."
"I probably could have done, but I can never stay angry at you for long E," he reassured pulling me
closer to his chest.
"Am I a pain in the ass?" I asked.
"You have your moments," he sighed rolling onto his back. "Like when you ran away...twice, or the part
where you broke into a high security prohibited ess area, or there was the time that you didn''t tell
me Max was threatening you which almost lead to your death, or there was-" He listed.
"Okay I get the idea," I chuckled putting my hand on his mouth.
"And what the fuck was that with Luca earlier?" He asked yfully as he uncovered my mouth.
"It was him! He made meugh!" I replied.
"Well in that case, I need to tell him what he should already know. That there''s a time and a ce for
pissing about and an important dinner with another powerful Alpha is not it," he said rolling his eyes.
"Standard Luca."
"Oh don''t be mad at him, Leo," I said putting my hand on his soft cheek. "He means well."
"I know, my love," he said kissing me gently. "Now get some sleep," he added, softly taking my hand in
his before enveloping me again with his other arm.
