    As I was about to shut the door, a little hand stuck through and I stopped the door from closing


    immediately. “Daddy,” my little girl called in her small voice and pushed the door wider for her to


    standfortably in the doorway. Just the sight of her gave me a mix of relief and joy.

    see the sorrow I was feeling. She is giving me relief and happiness I knew was only temporary, but I


    was going to savour it while she was here.


    “Why? I was looking for you,” she said, reaching for one of the cream puffs. She lifted it off the te


    and handed it to me. “You didn’te down for dinner. I brought this for you,” she said

    and tears filled my eyes. I blinked them back rapidly and looked away from her, covering my little


    slipup with augh.


    “Aww thanks, princess.” I kissed her cheek and forced myself to take a bite of the cream puffs even


    though I had not appetite. She watched me as I chewed. “Mmmmh, this is good,” I grinned at her


    and smiled in return. “Did you make it?” I asked her and she shook her head. “No,” she smiled. “But

    cheeks as she blinked. I fell in love with her all over the again. “What do you mean?” I asked, trying


    to understand her thought logic. She was very smart and I loved that she questioned things that she


    did not understand or think were right.


    “I can use my hands quite well. I write and draw and I do some paper craft. Why does she think I


    can’t use my hands properly?” She asked. Her eyes watched my hand as I lifted the cream puff to


    my mouth and took a bite. I almost choked in theugh that exploded through me. “You want


    some?” I asked and she hesitated before giving me a shy smile and nodding.


    I grinned at her and pushed the te to her. She shook her head. “I’m not going to have everything,


    daddy. I just want to take a bite,” she said and looked lifted the sugary cream puff off the te.


    “Thank you,” she blushed and took a bite out of the cream puff.

    “You like it?” I asked and she nodded, not wanting to talk through her mouthful. She chewed slowly,


    just like every other time she ate. I did not find it annoying. If anything, it was so adorable. It was


    part of the things that made her the cute, lovely girl she was.


    “Another bite?” I asked when she was done chewing the first one and still looking longingly at the


    cream puff she had taken a bite out of. She nodded and I nodded. She smiled and raised it to her


    mouth again, taking another bite. Cream rubbed over the side of her mouth and I reached out to


    wipe it and then licked my finger.


    “That’s gross, daddy,” she had to speak her strong opinion through the mouthful and Iughed. I


    shrugged and she smiled


    at me.


    “Daddy?” She called, looking at the cream puff again when she was done chewing. I stifled augh


    and watched her. Mine had been long gone. I enjoyed watching her do her own thing. “I’ll make you


    a hundred cream puffs when Catrina thinks I can,” she said and Iughed.


    “Okay princess,” I said and she grabbed the cream puff and took a massive bite out of it, which was


    really small whenpared to a massive bite I could take.


    “When your hands are stable?” I asked and she nodded. I shook my head with a smile and kissed


    her forehead.
