“You better tell your son to cut that c**p of his and answer my questions else it won’t be good for
both of you Freda!” Safiya continued with her threats while I tried to console Cisco.
I ignored her words. My worry grew as Cisco kept crying the more she spoke. He might just be a
child but I knew he could understand the weight of her words. He had gotten scared when he heard
her speak about throwing me in jail. My hea warmed despite the pain of seeing him in tears. I was
happy he cared about me and feared for my sake but if he continued crying so much, he would
catch a fever or something else.
Safiya was still throwing profanities at us and I grew tired of hearing her voice. It was loud and
annoying.
“Shut up, will you!” I snapped and she huffed, staring at me in disbelief that I dared to yell at her.
She might be the Luna but I wouldn’t take her using and pressuring my son into epting me
for what he didn’t do. She was trying to intimidate him and that was the height of it.
“Can’t you see that you’re scaring him? He just woke up. If I were you, I would use this energy to
take care of your unconscious daughter, she needs it right now” I continued, this time lowering my

could feel her wolf almost baring free. It was agitated for a fight and so was Gia. My wolf had long
wanted this starting from the day we knew she was shamelessly involved with my mate. If we were

Gia sensing my reluctance to attack, snarled in anger and shut off our contact leaving me alone to

even Kaiden as I’m sure you’ve talked him to your corner already” She spoke with spite and just
when I thought I had only her to deal with, Georgina stormed into the room.
Initially, she was eyes on her granddaughter but seeing how focused Safiya was on me, she looked
in my direction and her face soured. For a second, I had doubts about myself. I wondered what I

The door bursted open and Lyra tripped in with a bag and lunch basket in her hands. Her eyes
widened when she saw my state.
“Freeds, what the heck?” She rushed to me with a worried look. on her face and I don’t think I had
ever been happier seeing my best friend as I was now.
I opened my mouth to speak but ended up huping and she frowned deeply turning to Georgina
who stood defiantly. Safiya was back to massaging Harper but that didn’t mean she wasn’t aware of
Lyra’s presence. She knew and looked fierce as ever.
“What have you two done to her? Lyra asked, angrily staring at Georgina.
“Who are you to question me?”
“Who the f**k are you toe in here and cause her distress. She was fine before you brought your
busy body around so what did you do to her?” Lyra yelled and Georgina looked tongue-tied for a
second but that didn’t mean Safiya was. She looked at Lyra with the same look she always had
when she looked at me
“Watch your tone, orphan, and get the hell out of here!”
That seemed to get to Lyra. She folded her hands, her anger was so palpable that I shrunk back.
She hated being reminded of that and Safiya just did.
“As an orphan, I am better than your puffed-up self in all ways, Safiya. You might be the glorified
Luna but you mean nothing to me and I will not hesitate to beat you up to a pulp!” Lyra retorted and
Safiya shot to her feet as though she was ready for a fight.

Just as she was about to walk over, a nurse barged into the room and everyone froze. She looked
at all of us, her eyes lingering on me and Francisco before speaking
“What’s with all the noise here?”
“You don’t get to ask what the problem is when all you have to do is throw it out as it’s obviously
before you!” Georgina snapped at her, pointing at Lyra
The nurse sighed and surprisingly sounded calm as she poke, “Ma’am, the noise had beening
long before she arrived here”
Georgina stared at her in shock, while Safiya shot her a re. Lyra however, burst into a mocking
laughter.
