“Young man, we need to talk” were the words my father said to me immediately as I stepped out of
Freda’s ward.
And now here I was in his office waiting for him to begin but the first thing I got on my Face was a
punch from Beta Whitlock, Freda and Safiya’s father.
“You f**g manwhore, what gave the misconception that you could f**k with two of my daughters and
get away free!” He yelled at me.
My Alpha wolf, who was angry at being disrespected, growled at him ready to pounce at the
disrespectful beta, but one re from my father got my bristling fur to calm down.
“Sometimes I wonder if you are ready to take over this pack. Haven’t you ever wondered why I
haven’t handed this pack over to you even though you havee of age?” My father suddenly
asked, making me gape at him in disbelief.
“You have let your emotions take control of you and not only have you failed two Women you have
also failed this pack and your family” My father spat.
“I just didn’t want to break Safiya’s heart, I love her, don’t you understand me?” I yelled in anger,
none of them ever understood me.

I stared at Beta Whitlock with wide eyes “don’t look at me that way, I don’t want to see you near any
of my daughters again” he growled at me and left the office, banging the door just like my father did.
I was left all alone in the huge office, I raked my hands through my head and cursed.

“Are you in there?” I asked, I was standing at the door of Freda’s room, waiting for her to Open the
door.
The door of the room swung open and I was face to face with Freda, her face was swollen from
crying and her usually bright emerald green eyes were now dull.

I shook my head at that thought and shed her a small smile.
“Can Ie in?” I asked her, she thought for some seconds before opening the door wider and
motioning for me to enter.
I walked into the room and looked around it carefully, oh her reading table was a picture of me,
Safiya and Freda when we’re still kids.
I stared at the picture intensely, wondering how I missed seeing such a photo that has been ced
here for so long.
‘because all you thought about was sex and Safiya’ my wolf, Kai said with a snort, reminding me of
his presence.
“What’s it? What do you want?” Freda asked me, hands on her hips, her pale face was twisted in a
frown.
“I’m sorry” I said in a lowered voice.
“I’ve been hearing that for a long time now, is there anything tangible you want to say, maybe
exin to me why you are getting engaged to Safiya after all you have promised me” she asked.
“You should have asked me that before rejecting me in front of everyone!” I said,

I watched her face change to disbelief.
“Are you seriously asking me that ridiculous question? My own mate is getting engaged to another
woman and wow….I can’t believe this” she yelled at me tugging her hair.

I stretched out my hands in an attempt to touch her but she shifted and avoided my touch.
“Don’t touch me…”
Just then, I heard Safiya crying for me through the mindlink
“Save me ! Save me!! Kaiden!!!” The mindlink got cut short abruptly, making me jolt.
“Where are you going?” Freda yelled.

“Safiya is in danger, I need to get to her now” I replied and ran off.
Missing the sad and abandoned look in Freda’s eyes.
I banged the door of her room loudly as I ran down the corridors, down the stairs and out of the
pack house.
I tracked Safiya’s scent and found her deep in the woods, arge brown rogue wolf circling her and
getting ready to attack.
I shifted immediately andunched at the rogue wolf as the two of us got entangled in a fight.
A fight which ended with the death of the rogue wolf andrge g**hes on my body.
But the g**hes were nothing, with my supernatural fast healing speed, the wounds would close back
before the next day.
My main priority was Safiya who was crying In fright.
“Are you okay Safiya, were you wounded?” I asked worriedly, she shook her head and leaned into
my arms.

“You are the one who I should be asking that question to? Gosh, there’s blood all over you” she
sobbed.
I patted her hair assuringly.
“I’m fine, these are just scratches, I will be healed tomorrow” I assured her.
I looked up and found out that it was already dark.
“We need to get to the pack house before curfew” I said and carried Safiya on my back.
On reaching the pack house we were met with the questioning eyes of Beta Whitlock and his wife
who was sobbing tragically beside him.
“Have you seen Freda? My daughter?” Beta Whitlock asked me with worried eyes before he
recognized who I was piggy backing
“Oh my baby Safiya! What happened to you?” Georgina
Whitlock,Safiya and Freda’s stepmother asked in a sobbing
tone.
Safiya got down from my back and hugged her mother, the two women crying and consoling each
other.
“Beta we have searched everywhere and we can’t find her” A pack warrior said, making me look at
him in confusion.
“Who are you searching for, can someone tell me what’s going on?” Lasked.
“Freda is missing”
