Evelyn POV
Two weekster
Two weeks had passed since the cafe incident, on the plus side I no longer had to worry about
selling it when there was now nothing left but a vacant lot after Tobias had it cleaned up. Thaddeus did
get in Bianca''s head and found literally nothing, she had no memories and Thaddeus said she was
actually willing to help, she had been staying with Lana who apparently was doing better and they think
she can be released when Bianca is.
Everyone was on edge, Thaddeus could barely speak to his mother without arguing with her, or his
father''s. For the most part things were quiet. Hearing Mara wake up, I grab her out of bed and walk

downstairs with her on my hip. She had a growth spurt recently, the kid was growing like a weed and
gosh was she getting heavy on my hips, they were killing as I walked down the stairs before cing her
on the ground.
"I was just about to get her," Orion says,ing inside from having a smoke.
"It''s fine, coffee?" I ask him and he nods
"I flick the kettle on and Orion ces her at the table on her little booster seat. So she could see
over it. I grab the fruit loops down and pour some in a bowl before grabbing the milk out and cracking
the lid. The smell makes me gag, I sniff it wondering if it is off. Big mistake, my stomach churning
violently and making me want to throw up, I barely made it to the sink in time.
"Shit you alright?" Orion came rushing over, while I was turfing my stomach contents in the sink
which was luckily empty.
"Milk is off" I tell him and picks it up sniffing it,
" Smells fine to me" he says before tipping the bottle to his lips, just the sight of him tasting it
makes me throw up again.
"Evie?" I shake my head at him before turning the sink on and rinsing it down the drain.
"Why would you drink it?" I ask, rinsing my mouth out.
"It''s not off Evie, still has five more days on the expiry too" he says pouring it into her bowl.
"No, it''s off" I tell him, taking the bowl from her. She pouts.
"What''s going on?" Rnd asks, While yawning.
"She thinks I am giving Mara off milk" Orion says before taking the bowl off me and cing it back
in front of her, Orion holds the bottle out to Rnd who tastes it.
"Tastes fine, probably knocked up again" he says sarcastically before his eyes suddenly dart to me
and so do Orion''s.
"That''s not even funny Rnd" I tell him.
"Go see Thaddeus then to make sure, he picked it upst time" Rnd says with a shrug.
"Ask me what?" Thaddeus says walking into the kitchen.
"Mummy having a baby, yep yep. Babies cry lots, this one will cry" Mara says ying with her fruit
loops as she pushes them around her bowl.
We all stared stunned at her words when she put her hand in the bowl, giving up trying to pick the
coloured cereal up with the spoon and she popped one of the coloured hoops between her lips before
realising we were all staring at her.
"Want some daddy?" She asks, holding out her hand with mashed fruit loops in it, squished
between her fingers.
Thaddeus scrunched up his face and she pushed out her lips when Orion leaned down, slobbering
on her hand and sucking them up as she giggled. "More?" She asks him and he shakes his head.
"dadda full" he tells her when I feel a hand pressed to my stomach. Looking up, I see Thaddeus, his
eyes flickering ck and his hand warms up on my stomach and I look down to see it glow red slightly
before glowing gold.
He pulls his hand away and Oriones around the table looking at him and so does Rnd,
while my heart was thumping painfully in my chest and I felt like it was about to pass out.
"This is a good thing Evie" Thaddeus says as I start to hyperventte.
"So she is?" Rnd asks and Thaddeus nods before looking at Mara.
The room pulsates around me as I forget how to breathe before everything goes ck.
"Evie!" Thaddeus says before I drift off to nothingness.
Waking up, I am in our bed. Mara was sitting next to me and I could feel her drawing on something
on my back. Moving she puffs out her cheeks.
"Stop you wreck my drawing" she growls.
"Sorry" I tell her, staying still. I could hear her ruffling papers which I thought I must be the table
she was using.
She drops her blue crayon beside my face before grabbing the purple.
"I thought I said leave mummy alone" Rnd saysing into the room.
"She is fine" I tell him, yawning and closing my eyes when she peels my eyelid back.
"We go to park" she says her eyeball right next to mine as she peers in mine. I smile at her and
can hear Rndugh before feeling the bed dip.
"Go ask daddy first" he says, grabbing her.
"He says no," Mara whines.
"No harm in asking," Rnd tells her. She reaches up half climbing on the bed and snatches her
drawing off my back before running out. I roll over, crayons falling off my back and onto the bed in a
mix of colours.
"How do you feel?" Rnd asks just as Orion walks into the room. Heys next to me.
"Mara is downstairs harassing Thaddeus about the park"
"We haven''t left the house in two weeks, she is bored" I tell him and he nods.
"You''re not happy," he says, reaching over and touching my nonexistent belly.
"I''m not unhappy, just shocked though I shouldn''t be, that''s what happens when you have
unprotected sex" I tell him.
"Well I will be happy for both of us" he says, leaning down and kissing my stomach. Rnd
presses his lips in a line.
"Orion?" Rnd tells him.
"What? She isn''t getting rid of it" Orion says.
"Could you be any more insensitive?" Rnd snaps at him.
"It''s fine, Rnd calm down" I tell him, grabbing his arm.
"We haven''t discussed it Orion" Rnd tells him.
"There is nothing to discuss, right Evie" Orion says but I could hear the warning behind his words.
He would never forgive me if I did anything to jeopardize this pregnancy but I had no intentions to
anyway.
"Right" I tell him sitting up. Rnd sighs and I could feel his annoyance but also his excitement.
We have had nothing to be excited about. Maybe this was a good thing after all. If it makes them
happy, then that''s enough for me.
Walking downstairs, I hear Thaddeus talking to Mara. Walking in the living room she was showing
him her drawing.
"Dad said no" she huff''s as I walk in.
"I will deal with dad, go get your shoes" I tell her and Thaddeus looks at me.
"No, I told her no Evelyn"
"And I said yes, she has been locked in the house for two weeks, nothing has happened" I tell him
leaning over the back of the couch and wrapping my arms around his chest from behind.
"Fine but take Rnd with you" he says.
"And don''t be long," he says and I kiss his cheek.
He pulls me over the back of the couch and into hisp. His lips pressing softly against mine
before he pulls back.
"I love you" he says before pecking my lips.
"And I love you" I tell him just as Maraes out with her joggers in her hands. I sit up in hisp
and she sits on the floor between his legs. Bending down I ce them on her feet and she jumps up
rushing to the door. I go to get up when Thaddeus grips my hips.
"How about you stay, and they go?" He says kissing my shoulder.
"No, I want to get out of the house too, you could alwayse"
"I hate parks, too many kids whining," he says.
"We are about to have another one and you''reining about kids?"
"I like ours just not other people''s" heughs.
I push off hisp before grabbing my thongs and slipping them on. Mara jumping up and down at
the door holding Rnds hand.
"We go now" she says, jumping on the spot.
"Yes we are going" I tell her before opening the door. Rnd grabs his car keys and I hear
Thaddeus sing out just as the door closes.
"Orion,e here please" Thaddeus says, his tone not happy. I continue to the car and let them
figure it out. I was not getting involved in whatever Thaddeus was ticked off about. We clip her in her
carseat before Rnd and I get in and head to the park.
