    Thaddeus pov


    I follow Rnd inside the house. Orion ducks off to grab towels.


    "Our bathroom or the main?" He asks, looking at me.


    "Ours" I tell him and I follow him upstairs. Walking past Mara''s room I stick my head in the door


    checking on her. She was sound asleep still all tucked in her bed.Closing the door I see Orion walk up


    the stairs toward me.


    "Is she good?" He asks, looking at the door.


    "Yeah she is asleep"


    "I need help" I hear Rnd call out from the bedroom. I walk in before following him into the


    bathroom.


    "Stand her up" I tell him and he does, holding her against him, her headying heavily against his


    chest. Arms floppy by her side.


    I bend down undoing the button on her jeans before undoing the zip. Her pants sticking to her from


    all the blood. I pull her legs out before slipping her panties off and standing back up. I unsp her bra


    before taking her from Rnd and he pulls her arms out.


    Orion steps into the room and I feel fog drift over me directed at her so she remains asleep once


    the water touches her. I nodded to him grateful because I had used enough magic and I could feel it


    taking a toll on me. Rnd strips his pants off before taking her and I do the same before stepping in


    and turning the shower before adjusting the temperature. I remove the showerhead and he steps in


    with her before sitting on the shower floor with her in hisp.


    Orion grabs the soap and a face washer and kneels next to the shower at the door and starts


    washing all the blood off while I rinse it down the drain, ridding the bathroom of the smell. My gums


    tingling with a need to feed.


    "We need to know what it''s in her system, just feed on her Thaddeus she won''t care, you already


    do anyway" Orion says.


    "Yeah but she is passed out,"


    "It won''t stay in her system long, either you do it or I will. Or wake her" He says.


    I look down at my mate in his arms,pletelyatose. She had been taken advantage of


    already. I won''t be another to do it to her.


    "They didn''t, did they?" Rnd asks, feeling me through the bond. I shake my head, "no she killed


    them long before they got near her pants, we would have felt it if they did" I tell him and he nods before


    letting out breath.


    I decided to wake her. "Let her wake Orion"he nods and I feel the fog lift, and I nudge her along.


    "Wake love" I tell her and she stirs.


    Her eyes open before she jumps wide awake looking around. She sees us all staring at her before


    rxing against Rnd.


    "What do you remember?" She seems confused looking back at me before shaking her head.

    "Who gave me?" She mutters incoherently still drunk on all the blood and whatever was in their


    systems.


    "The men we found you with" she shakes her head.


    "No Laura gave them to me" she mutters trying to go back to sleep. She turns in his arms burying


    her face in his chest. I look at Orion who seemed confused too. Her friend drugged her, and did that


    mean Evie took whatever it was willingly?


    "Evie," I ask, shaking her and she turns her head, facing me before trying to go back to sleep.


    "Can I feed on you and get in your head?" I ask her and she nods, trying to go back to sleep.


    Rnd looks at me before propping her up. I tilt her head to the side exposing her neck and her eyes


    open slightly.


    "I''m sorry," she mutters.


    "Why are you sorry?" Orion asks her.


    "Because I took them, I didn''t think they would work" she slurs.


    "Do you know what it was?" He asks but she was already asleep.


    I run my tongue over her neck before kissing her jaw. I let my fangs brush her neck and she


    shivers but doesn''t move away or wake. I let her blood flood my mouth tasting it, before spitting it out.


    The taste was disgusting, all their blood tainting hers and also something else I couldn''t identify.


    "What is it?" Orion asks.


    I try to rack my brain for where I tasted it before. Orion leans in before running his tongue over


    bleeding neck and I hear him growl.


    "Jimson weed and betel nut" he murmurs.


    I sink my fangs into her again this time she moans softly, her hands feebly clutching Rnds leg


    as I try to rid it from her system when I get faint traces of something else. I pull back before sealing her


    wound with my tongue. And washing the blood from her neck. I stand up before reaching down to take


    her when I realise what the faint taste was.


    "She has consumed wolfsbane too" I tell them.


    I step out of the shower and Orion drapes a towel on her. "Wolfsbane?" Rnd asks, hoping out


    behind me.


    "I could taste traces of it, she didn''t consume it tonight though it was too weak in her system" I tell


    them and they seem to think.


    I feel Rnd wrap a towel around waist before tucking the corner in so it stays up. I walk out sitting


    on the bed with her in myp.


    "Did you get it all out of her system?" Orion asks, I shake my head


    "no whatever she took was highly concentrated, it will probably take a few days"


    "Keep her home then?" Rnd says and I nod drying her body while Orion dries her hair.


    "Why would she take jimson weed or betel nut, they are hallucinogenic?" Orion asks, thinking.


    Rnd walks off grabbing one of our shirts before tugging it over her head and pulling her arms


    through the holes.


    Iy her on the bed, before pulling her to me. She ces her head on my chest and I run my


    fingers through her hair before pulling on my magic and entering her mind so I could see her thoughts


    and the events of the night. Sifting through her head. I watch as Laura and some man pressure her to


    take the pills even after she refused multiple times.


    I watched through her eyes, saw what she saw before my blood ran cold. She thought it was us,


    thought they were us before killing each one. Herments about the tinglesing back to me.


    "There’s my tingles," she said. And I realised that was what kept her from going further even in this


    state, her subconscious could feel something wasn''t right so she killed them. But that wasn''t all I


    noticed, it was the voice in her head. A voice telling her what to do, telling her to mark that man, telling


    her to fuck them.


    I hear Orion growl jerking me out of her head."someonepelled her" and he was right.


    "I''m going to kill that bitch" he snaps and I had never seen him so angry before. His entire body


    was shaking as he stared at our mate.


    "Calm down, we don''t know if Laura had anything to do with it" I tell him and he shakes his head.


    "No she gave them to her and you saw she wouldn''t take the same ones so clearly she knew what


    they are" Orion answers and I nod my head at his words. I knew something was off about her but mum


    and Evie trusted her. But Orion was probably right. Deciding to go back in her head, I ce my hand


    back in her head. Mara starts crying and I wait.


    “I will go make her a bottle” Orion says walking out.


    "What are you doing now?" Rnd asks.


    "Finding out how she got the wolfsbane in her system" I feel my eyes roll in the back of my head


    as I sift through quickly. Images flickering before my eyes. I stop when I see her speaking to Amara


    who gives her a bag. I listen, anger wrapping around me and I shove myself out having seen enough


    before cing her head on the pillow and getting out of bed.


    "Thaddeus what did you see?" Rnd asks. But I don''t answer instead walking out and


    downstairs.


    Oriones out of Mara''s room with a bottle in his hand. "What''s wrong?" He asks. But I don''t


    answer, instead going downstairs and looking for her keys. I found them on top of the microwave.


    Walking outside, I go to her car unlocking it before opening the glovepartment with the key. I


    see a paper bag and grab it out before opening it. I find the pills before walking inside.


    "What is it?"


    "Find my phone, I need to speak to Amara" I tell him before dropping the bag on the table. Orion


    looks at it, before opening it and looking at the bottle inside. Rnds looks over his shoulder sniffing


    the air as Orion opens the bottle.


    "Isn''t water hemlock and wolfsbane what vampires use for birth control?"


    "No they use it as a morning after pill" Orion answers.


    "Wait, where did you find this?" Rnd asks, looking toward the stairs.


    "In her car, Evie took them the other day" I answer.


    "But why?"


    "Isn''t obvious, to make sure we didn''t knock her up the other day" Orion says and I could feel his


    anger. He wanted more kids, and the fact that she would deliberately destroy a possible pregnancy hurt


    him, hurt all of us. But mostly I was pissed off at the fact that she hid it from us and was willing to risk


    bing infertile even after Amara warned her.


    "So why do you want to speak to Amara?" I sigh, walking over and grabbing my phone before


    sitting at the table.


    "Amara gave it to her"
