    Orion POV


    I spent thest hour and a half trying to get Mara to settle. All three of us tried before she


    eventually passed out from exhaustion, crying herself to sleep.


    Walking down stairs I go to make some coffee. Thaddeus walking out into the kitchenes over


    to me. His hands went to my hips as he pressed me against the counter from behind.


    "Is she asleep?" He asks, kissing my bare shoulder.


    "Yeah she has been acting strangetely, and having horrendous night terrors" I tell him.


    "I know, I think it''s everything that''s been going on," he says, running his hands up my chest.


    "Are you still mad at me?" He asks, pressing his face into my neck, I sigh rxing against him.


    "No, but you should have told me you were going to let her feed off you, I worry about her" I tell


    him and he nods.


    "Yes and I worry about you too though, you know you can talk to us right?" I reach up, rubbing the


    side of his face on my shoulder. His skin is rough on my palm before he turns his face kissing my palm.


    "I know but you have enough on your te with having your magic back" I tell him though he


    hasn''t had one outburst that has truly made me worry he was losing control.


    "I won''t lose control, I have control now" he says, invading my thoughts.


    "How?" I wondered how this time is different, he never had control since I met him but this time


    was different he was different.


    "Because nothing is worth losing our family, not even the darkness. You don''t need to worry about


    me, losing control"


    "So, you don''t feel the urges?" I ask him.


    "No I do, I just know where to focus that energy now" he says kissing my neck.


    I turned around facing him, Thaddeus was different despite everything he was probably the most


    grounded out of us at the moment, the most rational. Even I have had my moments, yet he always saw


    through it, whereas before he would have exploded at the first hint of aggression towards him.


    He kisses me and I kiss him back, his mouth moulding around mine perfectly before he pulls back


    running his nose across my neck and shoulder making me shiver. "Where''s Rnd?" I ask when I hear


    his voice.


    "Watching" he says and I look behind Thaddeus to see him leaning against the archway arms


    folded across his chest.


    "Anyone heard from Evie?" I ask them and they both pull their phones from their pockets. Rnd


    shakes his head before Thaddeus suddenly growls softly in disapproval.


    "What is it?" I ask and he shows me her message.


    "I thought you told her to stay off main Street"


    "I did" he says, trying to ring her but her phone goes to voicemail. Rnd tries but the same thing


    happens; it just rings out before going to voicemail.


    I feel for her through the bond, but only get a weird buzzed feeling but she seems fine.


    "She feels fine" I tell them and they both seem to stare off And I know they are feeling her through

    "Yeah you''re right, she will ring when she wants to be picked up" Rnd says. I make coffee for us


    all.


    "What was up with you and Laura earlier, I saw the look you gave her" Rnd asks Thaddeus.


    "Just a strange feeling I got with her, I couldn''t get in her head at all"


    "What do you mean?"


    "Like she was nk, either she has no memories or she was blocking me out"


    "Blocked you out, no one can block you out" Rnd tells him and he is right. I am yet to see him


    struggle to read anyone.


    "I don''t know could be because Evie fed off me, but there is something I don''t like about her"


    "Yeah well from what mum says Mara doesn''t like her either" I tell them. They both seem to think


    for a second and we all grab our coffees, walking toward the living room when this sharp pain wraps


    around my chest threatening to suffocate me. The pain so bad the cup drops from my hands as I clutch


    my chest. My breath wheezes out as I try to breathe, my lips burning as I am stabbed with agonising


    pain.


    A thunderous growl tearing from Thaddeus so loud it shook the windows. The pain stops for a


    second and I catch my breath looking up at my Mate''s, Rnd was also clutching the table trying to


    catch his breath. Thaddeus though had a deadly re on his face before he stormed past me, grabbing


    his keys off the bench when I realised what the pain was and where his burning anger came from.


    "We shouldn''t have let her go" He growls before the pain suddenly returns like twisting a sharp


    knife in my chest.


    "Why would she do this?" I ask through gritted teeth.


    Thaddeus ignoring the pain somehow storms off toward the front door.


    "Where are you going?"


    "To get our fucking mate" he says with so much anger I force myself upright.


    "Stay with Mara" I told Rnd who could barely stand. He nods.


    I walk past him following Thaddeus when he grabs my arm. I look at Rnd sweat beading on his


    forehead.


    "This isn''t Evie she wouldn''t do that" he says yet I could feel his doubt with everything going on we


    weren''t so sure what she was capable of anymore.


    "We''ll bring her home" I tell him chasing after Thaddeus. I jumped in the car just as he was


    reversing out. He puts his foot down, tearing out of the driveway and heading toward the city.


    "Thaddeus?" I ask, feeling his anger wrap around him like smoking tendrils.


    "I have control" he says gritting his teeth before suddenly I am hit with a rush of emotions, so


    strong there was no doubt what it was. Thaddeus growls loudly, his foot pressing harder on the pedal


    and I thought the steering wheel would snap under his grip. She just marked somebody, I could feel


    this stranger''s foreign emotions hit me, arousal being the strongest. She didn''t have to worry about


    Thaddeus killing her because I bloody will if I get my hands on her.
