    chapter 73

    Theo’s POV

I couldn’t believe it she was gone, dead. Tobias looked as broken as I felt. Imogenying in his

arms drenched in blood. I pulled her shirt down, not being able to stare at her belly torn open. The

damage to her body was haunting. seeing made me remember her pain and fear. I was sure it was

going to haunt me forever, feeling how much she wanted us and how helpless she felt in that moment.

Could literally feel her begging with everything she had for us to get to her. We failed her and that I

know would drive me insane with guilt.

“Take her, we need to leave,” Tobias said almost angrily. I know he was hurting, but I hated the

way he said it. Dumping her in my arms and tearing his eyes away from her. I started walking toward

the path we came up, his voice echoing through the wind over to me.

“What are you doing Theo, we need to find our child” he growled harshly.

“I’m not leaving her here,” I spat back at him clutching her to me refusing to let go. I can’t leave

her. I can’t leave her here alone in the cold.

“We don’t even know who took the baby. That’s our priority now we cane back for her, we

don’t even know how far who ever took the baby is. You carrying her will slow us down,” he growled,

stepping toward me. He went to take her and I shoved him away, growling at him threateningly.

“Fine, I will go by myself then.” I watched as he shifted, taking the form of his beast. He shook out

his fur turning away from me and heading back up towards the house obviously looking for any scent. I

continued to walk down the path. The storm was still raging around us, yet I didn’t feel its rage. I

couldn’t feel anything I was numb. Completely empty, dead inside. I kept walking, pulling Imogen

closer, trying to shield her from the storm. It made me feel warmer having her in my arms. I had been

walking for around five minutes when I noticed a gold lighting from somewhere. I looked around

but couldn’t see anything that would cause the light that was on the ground in front of me. Adjusting

Imogen, I noticed the glowing gold light wasing from her wrist. I picked up her limp hand and

realised the light wasing from the strange bracelet that sat on her small wrist. I ran my fingers over

the pendant that was glowing, I recognised the intricate pattern woven around it. But couldn’t

remember where I had seen it before.

I inspected the bracelet closely before I heard her gasp before jumping forward, coughing like she

had been under water and was taking a breath after holding her breath for a long time. Her eyes

opening to a magnificent gold colour the same as her bracelet, glowing before she looked at me.

“Imogen” I gasped, clutching her tighter. She was rigid in my arms, stiff like a board. She looked

around confused before looking at me, her hands going to my face as if to see if I was real. Before her

hands clutched onto her belly, her hands wing at her shirt as she pulled it up. She suddenly started

thrashing in my arms, screaming, forcing me to drop her. Shended on the ground with a thud but

sprang to her feet faster than I could imagine.

“Where is he?” she said, looking around frantically.

“Tobias?” I asked. Her eyes darting to mine. I took a step back from her, her eyes were zing

with something I couldn’t decipher. I had never seen eyes like hers before, never seen that expression

on her face. I knew every one of her expressions, made mental notes of all of them. Yet this look I had

    never seen before.

“My baby where is he Theo?” I shook my head, not knowing how to answer when I didn’t know.

She suddenly took off up the path back towards the cottage. She ran so fast I couldn’t keep up with her.

I made it back to the house to see her barge through the door. I heard Tobias barrelling up behind me,

before digging his ws into the earth and sliding into me.

He looked at me with his ck obsidian eyes with a hopeful look on his face, wondering if he felt it

right. The bond was surging alive with Imogen’s anger. He shifted, and we both chased after her. We

heard doors opening and closing upstairs before she raced past us screaming for thest name, we

thought we would heare from her lips.

“Bianca, Bianca” She came running back out and stopping next to us before looking down. I

watched as she sniffed the air, before dropping to the floor, her hands running over all the blood on the

floor. She wiped at it with her hands wing at the floor digging through it looking for something.

“Where is he, where is my baby” she said, peering up at us with a look of pure fear and

desperation on her face. Tears running down her cheeks. I looked to Tobias, he looked just as shocked

as I felt at seeing her.

“We aren’t sure, we got here toote” I whispered. Her face crumbled up and my guilt hit me

saying it. She started wailing and screaming loudly at my words and rocking back and forth, her hands

bing drenched in her blood that was congealing on the floor. The bracelet on her wrist glowing

brighter and brighter, shing like a beacon.

When she let out the most heartbreaking guttural scream I had ever heard, the noise seemed to

burst straight from her chest.  Light consuming everything as her bracelet exploded blindingly, and so

did she. Her emotions knocking me through the bond. Before I see darkness as I am thrown

    backwards.

I hit the ground with a thud, having the air knocked right out of me. I roll to my side, trying to get to

my hands and feet. Tobias groans loudly, making me look in his direction, but all I see is dust and dirt. I

jump to my feet and gasp at the site before me. Imogen still in the same position cradling her belly and

rocking back and forth sobbing. But that wasn’t what shocked me, it was the house. Or theck there

    of.

It was gone, blown to smithereens like it never existed; I looked around as all the trees ttened,

creating an enormous circle like a crater. Nothing left standing. My mind in jumbles trying to figure what

she just did and how she did it.

“Did she do that?” Tobias whispered, ing through the dust towards me, his body covered in

dust and dirt. I didn’t know what to say. I couldn’t exin what I just witnessed. The dense forest

literally had a huge part of it blown away, leaving nothing but debris everywhere. I walked over to

Imogen, who was on the ground. I touched her back, and she flinched, turning her head to look up at

    me. What was she?

“She took him, she took him” She repeated. Her eyes zing with fury and sadness and that same

strange look I couldn’t decipher. She blinked slowly, like she was understanding what she said. Her

face transforming into hatred and darkness as her fangs protruded making me jump back. She looked

like an angel of death. The feeling through the bond were dark and cold, a hatred so cold I would hate

for it to be directed at me. I shuddered, realising the darkness she is surrounding herself with. The only

thing I could work out was that she was vampire, but vampires didn’t possess power like she just

showed. She looked crazed and her eyes shining brightly with a hunger I had never seen, in a colour

that was out of this world and ours.

“Who took him” Tobias asked, holding his hands out like he was trying to catch a wild animal. Her

eyes flicking to his. I watched as he too took a step back from her. I could feel her angering

through the bond, but this wasn’t like any anger I had felt. This was burning hot, threatening to boil the

blood in my veins, anger that was all consuming and rabid. Looking down at her she used to be so

pure, so innocent. Now though she looked lethal and murderous. I didn’t like this look on her, it scared

me wondering what she had be out of this.

“My sister” She spat. I could feel her hunger as her anger took over, the darkest parts of her taking

over and she wasn’t even fighting against the darkness taking over her instead embracing it, letting it

wash over her and take control. Stepping towards her, her head cocked to the side, her eyes snapping

to mine, watching me like a predator. I could feel Tobias’s confusion through the bond matching my

own. Imogen is an only child who is she talking about?

“Bianca” she said answering both our thoughts.

“I’m going to fuck kill her” She spat so vehemently, I flinched at her words because I knew she

meant them. I stared at her something was off about her. I would hate to be Bianca when she finds her.

And I have no doubt she eventually will, nothing but determination and anger washing through our

links, her emotions overriding everything we felt.
