Chapter 112

    Darius‘ POV

    A few minutes earlier.

I stood right outside Ang’s mom’s home and kept staring at the front door as if I was waiting for something to bring Reina out of the house. She had insisted on going over to her ce this afternoon and not even a powerful alpha could find the heart to say no to my little princess.

I knew the woman was grieving, she was sad about the death of her daughter. I didn’t want Reina to go over there and in one way or another, stress her but when Reina started crying, I threw the caution into the air and allowed her to do as she wanted.

Now it was time to get her. I’d just left Ryker at the gates after he had the audacity to tell me Ang was missing. First off, I wanted to get Reina settled in for the night before I drove out to go look for her. Right as I stood out there, Alpha Reign had sent out some men to look for Ang.

A familiar face walked past me and I quickly stopped her.

“Tell Reina I’m waiting out here,” I instructed.

“Yes, Alpha,” she walked into the house.

Quite a few number of people were together with the woman in the house and it wouldn’t be a bad idea if I said hello to her but my guilt wouldn’t let me. How was I supposed to tell it to her face that Ang was still missing despite having just lost a child? Moreover, I didn’t want to go in there and say the wrong thing.

Ang had been kidnapped all because of the rift between Ryker and I. It was all my fault. I should’ve given him the pack when he requested it. True to his words, this ce belonged to me.

    “Hi, daddy,”

She waved as she stood on the front porch, revealing her missing tooth. I waved back at her with a smile.

“Hi Ree, how was your day?”

“Good although Grandma has been sleeping all day I only saw her once,”

    “I’m sure she’s tired,”

“Is it because Aunt Brittany left?” She asked. I knew she didn’t quite understand what happened.

I swallowed hard before responding. “Maybe,”

“Okay,” she began walking away and I followed her silently. All of a sudden, she turned to me and asked, “Will mom be back like you said?”

I cleared my throat before I lied to her. “Of course. You’ll see her before you go to bed or right after you wake up tomorrow morning,”

    “Are you sure?”

I wanted to ask her if she could still see Ang but since she wasn’t saying anything. I figured she couldn’t and I decided to drop the topic.

“Of course, why would I lie to you?”

    “Okay, Daddy,”

By morning, I would be a lying daddy and I needed to prepare myself for that. At least if not physically, but mentally.

We walked into the house and she ran up to her room first. I had to put her bag on the dining table where I could see it and not have a repeat of what happened in the morning. It took us several minutes to find that bag because Reina believed she gave it to me and I believed she didn’t.

`It caused a little bit of argument but it all went back to normal after we found the bag lying on the

sofa in her room hiding under the pile of clothes I’d thrown there.

I followed her. She had her bathroom door locked.

“Let me know when you’re ready to take a bath,” I yelled out.

“I need a new towel,” she demanded.

I grunted. She was already having her bath and busymanding as usual. I loved it.

    “Yes ma’am,” Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDra/ma.O(r)g!

I heard her giggling in the bathroom before I left. That brought a tiny smile to my face. Ang and Reina were like light to my darkness. They came into my life with so much brightness that shone further than the sun.

I didn’t know how much I needed them until they came to me.

I went through the rack of clean clothes in theundry room to find a towel but found nothing. It was when I opened one drawer that I saw towels neatly arranged. I picked one and left.

By the time I was walking up the stairs, my feet suddenly became stuck to the floor. A scent that I’d missed more than life itself suddenly hit my nose. I took a deep breath. My heart began beating frantically.

The door opened and that was when I was able to turn. It was Ang, standing right there.

“My Angel,” I whispered. It was almost unbelievable for me that she was standing right there. It wasn’t until she hugged me that I realized she was real. So real that I hugged her tightly and told her how much I’d missed her.

“How did it happen, my Angel? Ryker just said shit about you missing. I wanted to put Reina to bed ande find you.”

She shook her head as tears ran down her pretty face. “It was Mason and Grace. They came to get me. Grace helped me escape the house and Mason was waiting out there. Only Mason can exin

    better.”

    “Grace?” She nodded

Whoever that was, I was ready to thank them for this gift they gave me. The gift of reuniting with my girl. As for Mason, he might get beaten up for lying to me or maybe for keeping me in the dark. Either way, his ass was getting thrashed.

“I’m so d you’re back here with me, baby,” I kissed her again. I buried my face in her neck to inhale her scent.

The door opened and Mason walked in. I frowned, squinting my eyes at him. He raised an eyebrow and shrugged. He better have a good exnation.

He moved away from the door for someone else toe in. I watched in surprise and shock as my ex–wife aka dead–but–still–alive–ex–wife walked into my house. Wasn’t she living on an abandoned ind or something?

Ang had released herself from my tight hold. We shared a loot before we both turned to the

    door.

    “That’s Grace,”

“Velicia,” we both said at the same time.

“It’s good to see you again, Darius,”

“Who’s Velicia?” Ang asked, staring dead at me in the eyes.
