Zion <b>was </b>the one <b>to </b><b>answer</b><b>, </b>unaware that he <b>was </b>being marked by Alpha Calhoun due to his interest in Aurora.
“<b>Alpha</b><b>, </b><b>we </b><b>are </b>just happy to have a new pack member,” Zion replied. The others hailed him, but they suddenly stopped at the sight of Alpha Calhoun’s darkened <b>gaze</b><b>.</b>
“Is that <b>so</b><b>?</b>” Alpha Calhoun asked seriously. Zion quickly nodded in
agreement, a smile forming on Alpha Calhoun’s <b>face</b>, but Zion panicked.
He could see the darkness in Alpha Calhoun’s eyes even when he pretended to smile. Then again, knowing that the Alpha had a fiancée, he could not be interested in Aurora, right?
“Alpha, that is indeed it,” he quickly said, afraid Alpha Calhoun would punish him, knowing how cunning and heartless he could be.
Alpha Calhoun <b>was </b>not that lenient, not even with his <b>call </b>girls.
“Then let it remain <b>so</b>,” he said in a tone that got everyone serious as their attention shifted to their training.
“<b>It’s </b>your first day<b>, </b>so you can sit and watch,” he told Aurora, who did not refuse his kindness.
After all, she did not want to show her skills but was not sure she would be able to not defend herself if she had to train with someone.
Four of the she–wolves aiming to be call girls surrounded Alpha Calhoun. “Alpha, I want to train with you,” one of them said. Another one countered, “You trained with him yesterday. It’s my turn.”
Aurora’s attention was diverted from the girls fighting over training with their Alpha Rene. But she felt it would be good for Alpha Calhoun to have <b>a </b>beta, <b>as </b>not having one meant he had to supervise training by himself.
Aurora also noticed that no one was willing to partner with Rene and suddenly stood up. If she befriended Rene, then she could know more about Alpha Calhoun’s fiancée.
“Alpha Cal, can I train with her?” she asked from where she sat. The she–wolves standing with Alpha Calhoun <b>were </b>upset that she got the Alpha’s attention <b>so </b><b>easily </b>when they were struggling to do so.
“My name is Rene. I will <b>be </b>d to train with you,” Rene said to confirm that she would also love to train with Aurora, but Alpha Calhoun <b>was </b>reluctant.
<b>It </b><b>was </b>obvious that he didn’t <b>like </b><b>Rene </b>and also did not trust her.
“I thought you would like to watch on your first day,” he said directly. Aurora smiled nervously. What <b>excuse </b>could <b>she </b>give?
<b>There </b><b>was </b>no way she would tell him why she wanted to be friends with Rene.
<b>“</b><b>She </b>doesn’t <b>have </b>a partner<b>.”</b>
She must <b>have </b>found the <b>perfect </b><b>excuse</b><b>, </b>but that did not mean that Alpha Calhoun <b>was </b>going to buy it or make it <b>easy </b>for her.
“Lydia<b>, </b><b>you </b><b>are </b>training with Rene<b>,</b>” he paired one of the she–wolves among the four. Both Rene and she <b>were </b>not happy with the arrangement, but he did not <b>care </b>and continued.
<b>“</b>Ollie <b>and </b><b>Patrice</b>, <b>you </b><b>are </b>training <b>together</b><b>,</b><b>” </b>he <b>said </b>to two other she<b>–</b><b>wolves </b>standing in front of him. The <bst </b><b>girl </b>smiled, thinking she would <b>have </b>the honor <b>of </b>training with Alpha Calhoun but <b>was </b><b>amazed</b>.

Their moods <b>were </b>deted by the arrangement<b>, </b>but they <b>also </b>knew <b>that </b>the Alpha would <b>not </b>tolerate any <bckadaisical </b>behavior.
Aurora could <b>not </b><b>be </b>bothered by <b>their </b><b>displeased </b>looks <b>but </b><b>was </b>genuinely concerned about Rene.
<b>It </b>was also beginning <b>to </b>annoy her <b>that </b>Alpha Calhoun did not want <b>her </b>to <b>interact </b>with the pack members<b>, </b><b>as </b>if he <b>was </b>afraid they would <b>reveal </b>some kind of dirty <b>secrets </b>about him.

<b>It </b><b>was </b>simr to fasting. Now<b>, </b>Alpha Calhoun had <b>also </b>prioritized Aurora over his <b>pack </b>she–wolves.
“Are you all watching or training? We have to revise what we learned yesterday. If you’ve perfected it, then we can add on<b>.”</b>
Everyone focused on their partners after those words, but Zion did not like Alpha Calhoun being there.
Usually, he would take the professional warriors to the mountains for training, so he just had to wait for that time to have <b>a </b>conversation with Aurora<b>.</b>
“What is your level<b>?</b><b>” </b>Alpha Calhoun asked. Aurora forced a smile.
“Aside from watching some training videos and practicing the moves, I don’t know what you are talking about.”
Relieved that he did not question her further, she took a stand. “Punch me<b>,</b>” Alpha Calhoun said. Aurora punched him rather gently.
“Harder.”
She gave another soft punch, but slightly harder than the previous one. The she–wolves giggled. “She’s so weak. Alpha, even Rene is better than her,” Ollie said mockingly. Aurora did not give a damn what she thought about her.
Rather, she stared at Rene, and thetter lowered her head, showing she was mostly bullied by the girls.
“If I say punch me, I mean this,” Alpha Calhoun made an attempt to punch her, but she dodged even when she wasn’t looking, gaining everyone’s
attention.
Her swift move raised eyebrows, and Alpha Calhoun questioned her. “You said you haven’t trained before.”
“I said I did it alone with videos,” she corrected him.
Thinking it was purely a matter of luck, he directed another punch, but she dodged again. This time, he did not allow her to bnce and tried a kick, but Aurora jumped to avoid it. When he aimed at her chest, she did a backward flip and somersaulted, stunning everyone.
Her movements were so graceful, more like that of a professional. “She’s so good,” Zionplimented, wishing he could train with her.
Aurora’s gaze was lowered, knowing that Alpha Calhoun was beginning to have his doubts. Worse of all, he said, “those videos you used for training. <b>I </b>want them.”
Aurora’s move left so much doubt in Alpha Calhoun’s mind. She never staggered nor was she clumsy. Even when her attention was off, she dodged the punches too well.
This <b>was </b>not an amateur. Alpha Calhoun knew he had to do another follow–up on the investigation report on Aurora.
Aurora froze to the spot, but Alpha Calhoun’s attention was now diverted to the others, knowing that Aurora would not have the videos there. They would address it at the pack. Aurora did not need his help, and he soon realized that.
His focus now <b>was </b>directed at his warriors<b>.</b>
Retiring to the <b>rest </b>bench, hours passed before training was <b>over</b>. Most of the girls <b>gave </b>Aurora annoyed <b>gazes</b>, but Rene came to sit beside her.
Zion joined them too <b>as </b>Alpha Calhoun said to him, “Zion<b>, </be with me.”
Zion knew his Alpha <b>was </b>upset, making him uneasy. Also, he realized Alpha Calhoun had discharged the warriors to go to the mountains with the <b>lead </b><b>warrior</b>.
This <b>was </b>the first time he did that, which <b>was </b><b>a </b>strange urrence. Somehow, he began to <b>believe </b>the gossip going around that Alpha Calhoun <b>was </b>in love with his assistant.
However<b>, </b><b>if </b><b>Asena’s </b>mother should hear this<b>, </b>won’t <b>she </b><b>cause </b>problems for <b>Daisy</b><b>? </b>He thought Alpha Calhoun was going to the mountain, but no. The two men walked <b>away </b><b>as </b><b>Aurora </b>said to Rene,

Rene was ted as they joined hands and walked <b>out </b>of the gym. “Thank you. You are so nice. I hope <b>that </b>one <b>day</b><b>, </b>you be our Luna<b>.</b><b>” </b>Aurora <b>froze </b>and turned to <b>face </b><b>her</b><b>.</b>
Looking to her left and right<b>, </b><b>there </b>were no prying <b>eyes</b>, so <b>she </b><b>asked </b><b>seriously</b>.
<b>“</b><b>You </b>know your Alpha <b>has </b>a <b>fiancée</b>, don’t you?<b>”</b>
