Chapter 170
“What is your problem and why are you screaming?” Alpha Calhoun sounded angry, and Sandra swallowed bitterly, her eyes teary.
“Alpha, she tricked me. She gave me food that was too spicy, and it burns. I can’t even breathe.”
Sandra was crying like a baby, but as soon as Aurora appeared beside Alpha Calhoun, the pain seemed to double at the mere sight of them together. “Me? I admit I gave you the food, but that’s because you told me to cook for you. Since you won’t give me space to breathe, my hands shook, and I added a little more spice,” Aurora shrugged, her tongue waggling mockingly.
Alpha Calhoun was facing Sandra, and with Aurora beside him, he failed to see what she was doing.
“See? Alpha, she wants to kill me. She said she was going to make sure you send everyone away and make her the Luna.”
Aurora’s expression changed when she realized the seriousness of the situation. Feeling that she owed Calhoun her life because he saved hers, she needed to be certain if he was the one, as she did not expect that sweet man to turn out like this.
Her human side could understand that he was an Alpha who had waited ten years, but would her presence change anything, especially when he could not recognize her?
Most certainly, it could be because of the change in the color of her eyes.
However, Sandra’s lie could cause problems for her. Suddenly, Auroraughed but kept calm. “Should I bring you a mirror? You look so ugly when you lie.”
Sandra’s expression turned horrific, but Aurora turned around and began walking back to the dining table when she heard behind her, “You are fired.”
She stiffened, turning around, but Calhoun’s back was turned to her, and she saw the horrified look in Sandra’s eyes double. It was as if her eyes were going to fall out.
“Alpha, I didn’t do anything. She gave me food that was too spicy.”
Sandra could not believe how much Alpha Calhoun had changed in just a day. He chose to believe a stranger instead of a woman who had given him pleasure.
Alpha Calhoun exined. “You had the audacity to tell my personal assistant to cook for you? That is what you get.”
The news was shocking and Sandra pleaded. “Linda said she was your personal maid.”
“That should have been enough to keep you away from her. But you chose to disrespect me by disrespecting her so, you have thirty minutes to pack out of the pack house and return to your home. You shall be assigned other duties.”
It was not only Sandra, but Aurora was also shocked. Girls like Sandra were no match for her, and she could handle it on her own.
“You don’t have to fire her. Girls love to y.”
“What I’ve said is irrevocable,” Alpha Calhoun said sternly. He knew about girl pranks and all, but in this situation, Aurora was more valuable to him, and strangely, he feared offending her.
Perhaps it was due to how she had wanted to leave him earlier. No girl ever dared to walk out on him, but Aurora did, even when she opted to be his personal maid.
She came to look for a job, but her attitude left so much for Alpha Calhoun to desire. Sandra left, and a new image was formed of Aurora. From N?velDrama.Org.
Since then, none of the maids or call girls would dare to cross her path, as they would not want to get fired.
“You cook well too. I’m thinking of how many more talents you have,” Alpha Calhoun asked curiously after tasting the sd she made. There was no expression on his face.
His phone rang before Aurora could respond, and seeing the caller ID, his gaze darkened, and he excused her. “You can go to your room.”
Aurora pressed something on her phone and left it behind the water jar on the table before leaving.
“Dad, what is it again?” Alpha Calhoun said on the phone.
“Your brother is proving stubborn. I’m trying to get him toe and help you,” a mature voice spoke from the end of the line, Alpha Calhoun raged.

“I don’t care. I’m managing the pack well alone. I even got a personal assistant, and she’s doing well. I don’t need him to be my beta.”
“Cal, it’s high time you iron things out with your brother. You are the older one but don’t worry. I’m trying to convince him to return to the pack very soon.”
“He can take ten years. I don’t need him. Asena has another year and a few months to </bplete her course, and the pack would have one of the best doctors. See? Everything would fall into ce. As soon as Asena returns, the pack would have a Luna, so don’t worry about anything.”
When he ended the call, he stood up and left. Daisy came to clear the table after, picked up the phone, and went to listen to the conversation.
It was clear to her that there was someone Calhoun did not want to see and Asena. The name sounded so familiar.
In Manhattan, New York, Maximus, the younger brother of Calhoun, was in the middle of work when his father barged into the office.
“Max, your brother has got some girl he’s calling his personal assistant. You have to return to the pack and take your position.”
Maximus was annoyed by the intrusion, dangling his luxury pen between his fingers. “Dad, in case you haven’t noticed, I’m well off. Thispany is number one on the business front, so why should I go fight over a title with him?”
He was not interested in being a beta due to an old grudge between him and his elder brother. His father thought of the only way to capture his interest, reminding him.
“Then how would you find that girl? Until now, no woman has caught your attention. Are you going to remain a virgin all your life? I need grandchildren, but neither of you have given any. Cal is still waiting for Asena to graduate from medical school, and you are still waiting for an underage girl.”
His father seemed like he was going to have a heart attack. Calhoun and Maximus were two years apart in age, but Maximus had defeated Calhoun in a fight in front of the whole pack, causing a huge embarrassment for his elder brother.
“Dad, it’s been ten years. She should be a teenager by now.”
Frustration covered the middle–aged man’s handsome features, and he was missing histe wife.
“You never felt a bond, so why are you wasting your time?”
Maximus smiled, remembering those dark eyes and dark hair.
“Dad, there was something special about that girl. I can’t forget those eyes. Every night, she’s all I see. She would have been between six to ten years old then.”
“Okay. Let’s say she was six. Then she’ll be sixteen by now,” his father analyzed, using the worst–case scenario, and Maximus agreed.
He had searched every pack, but there was no sign of her. Daisy seemed like a mirage in his mind and yet so real in his heart.
“That’s the exact calction I used. In two years‘ time, she would be eighteen.”
“But how would you find her? Don’t forget that Daisy is Alpha Nick’s daughter, but no one knows if she’s even alive, having been kept secret,” his father reminded him.
Maximus regretted not asking the girl’s name and leaving her side because he heard Alpha Nick’s voice.
Now, he was uncertain if Daisy was the girl he rescued or if it was somebody else like his father was saying.
“I think Alpha Nick was looking for his daughter coincidentally. You should not have been a coward, and what if she died when you left her?” His father asked, Maximus panicked but regained himself.
“Dad, she’s not dead, and I will find her. I’m just afraid of another unfruitful search.” For ten years, he could not forget her, so she could not be dead. Wherever she was, he was going to find her.
