 Sheridan remembered vividly. She had told Alpha Nick that she forgave him, and when he was about to make love to her, he received a call about an attack which she had nned.

 Sheridan did an amazing job. “How could I? I bought this resort for you because I figured you liked it.”

 This was the same resort Sheridan chose for them to meet at back then, and she was beginning to piece certain things together. “So that exins the disappearance of that huge sum of money,” she asked thoughtfully.

 A huge sum was transferred from their joint ount, and though Sheridan wanted to question Nick about it, she always hesitated.

 “I expected you to question me about it,” Alpha Nick said honestly, not adding that it felt better that she didn’t, though he had cooked up a lie to tell her. Sheridan smiled knowingly.

 “And I was waiting for you toe to me.”

 A smirk stretched the corner of Alpha Nick’s lips. “So here we are. I would show you the transformationter, but we have to finish what we started that day.”

 Sheridan’s heart leapt with joy, and it felt as if she was falling in love all over again. “I love you so much, Nick.”

 “You might not believe it, but I love you more than you love me. I’m sorry for the times I made you feel neglected,” Nick apologized.

 For all these years, he never stopped apologizing for the wrongs he did to her and never thought he had made it up to her enough.

 The pack took a toll on him, and he devoted more time to their daughter than her, making him guiltier.

 “No, no,” Sheridan pressed her hand against his lips. “You were training our daughter, and that means a lot to me. I know that you always saw her as a little girl, and indeed, she needed our attention.”

 Alpha Nick agreed but also felt that his job was done at this point. “But she’s eighteen now, so my job is done. I have to pick up from where we started.”

 “I was thinking that you were going to wait until she found her mate,” Sheridan said thoughtfully. Alpha Nick shook his head.

 “And I miss you so much,” he poured a ss of red wine for her. The romantic setting got them in the mood for naughty things, and Sheridan was honest with her feelings.

 At that time, she was the cause of the interruption, and this time, Alpha Nick put everything in order.

 “I forgot to tell you that both our phones are off,” he revealed, taking the wine ss from her and dropping it on the wine trolley before pushing her
