The war sirens at the Dark Moon Pack resonated through each and every member, waking them
from their slumbers.
It was in the wee hours of the morning, with warriors changing shifts as those not scheduled for
patrol ran out of their various houses, prepared for war, as did the Alpha and Luna.
The surprising thing was that the war bells were rung by the mother of the Alpha, Athena herself.
She surprisingly looked more youthful and vibrant than they had ever seen her, but her eyes were
filled with urgency, as was her
voice.
“There is a traitor in the pack or a thief. Everyone, go around and check. Daisy slept in my room, but
when I woke up, she was not there. Whoever took her would not have gone far.”
“What?” Alpha Nick roared. “What are you saying, Mom?” His wolf was out of control, and his gaze
darkened with fury.
Whoever dared toe into his pack to steal his child would have to pay with their dear lives.
“It’s just as I have said. Everyone should begin the search, or the coronation cannot happen
tomorrow,” Athena said seriously.
Daisy was her joy. Last night, the little girl made herugh a lot. She slept in her cot right at
Athena’s bedside, but strangely, upon waking up to ease herself, Daisy was nowhere to be found.
Due to how fast she was, her cot was quite high to prevent her froming out on her own. She
would have called for her grandmother if she needed anything, which did not happen, meaning that
somebody took her.
Dustin and Goldie were shocked, but Sheridan was devastated. How could anyone sneak into the
pack house without the warriors or anyone else seeing the person?
Her mind was scattered, and she could not hear Alpha Nick speaking to her until he pulled her into
his arms.
“Sherry, check the CCTV footage and see if you can find something,” Alpha Nick instructed as he
pulled away and said to the warriors,
“I need everyone to spread out, inside, and around the packs. Any stranger lurking around should
be brought in.”
The whole pack was busy, as everyone ran helter-skelter, searching for the slightest sign of Daisy’s
kidnapper.
Alpha Nick’s expression was so deadly that no one dared to question him. Sheridan checked the
footage, but the more she searched, the greater her depression until something caught her eye.
“Why did the door to Athena’s room open and shut twenty minutes ago without the person being
seen?”
Her question startled the two women around her, and they double-checked what she was referring
to.
“There is only one exnation,” Athena said, as Goldie added,
“Magic.”
Chapter 144
The only pack known to have magic and not use witchcraft was the Magic pack.
“It means that someone from the Magic pack took her. Could it be Charlotte? Is she out of thea
like Aqua said?” Sheridan. looked lost and afraid, so Athena mind-linked Alpha Nick to return to the
pack house.
Alpha Nick returned quickly, since nothing fruitful came out of the searches.
“I don’t think whoever took Daisy is here. It must be someone from the Magic pack,” Athena said,
and Alpha Nick’s expression was deadly.
“Then it’s time for war. I will tell Dustin to send a message canceling the coronation.”
Sheridan stiffened slightly at the suggestion, and as if Athena read her mind, she quickly asked,
“What if that is what Charlotte wants? I don’t have my powers to see the past or future, but Daisy
cannot be harmed wearing that emerald bracelet. When she gets her wolf, she won’t need the
bracelet anymore, as the powers would be sucked into her.”
The news wasforting but did not erase the fact that Alpha Nick and Sheridan still wanted their
daughter in their arms. “So what do we do?” Sheridan asked, feeling helpless for the first time.
She was one who always found the best solutions for her problems, but it was so painful as she
thought about the possibilities of what could happen to Daisy.
“I think you should go ahead with the coronation,” Athena suggested, but though that was what
Sheridan wanted, she could not ept it.
“No way am I getting coronated when my child cannot be found.”
“I agree on this. No coronation without Daisy. Where could she be at the moment? What if she’s
hungry? What if she suffers harm?” Alpha Nick asked all the terrifying questions that lingered on
everyone’s mind.
Athena was certain about one thing. “Believe me when I say that no harm coulde to her.”
“But I still want her. If she’s with Charlotte, then what do we do? Charlotte could harm her for
revenge or request something outrageous,” Sheridan spoke in a shaky voice.
She knew Charlotte as the back of her hand since they were once best friends, and the fact that
Charlotte wanted so much to kill
her before.
How could she not extend her hatred to Sheridan’s daughter? Alpha Nick was determined to get his
daughter back by hook or by
crook.
“That is true. We are warring against the Magic pack tonight,” he dered, as he mind-linked
Dustin.
‘Prepare the warriors for war against the Magic pack tonight.’
The response was swift as Dustin asked through the mind-link, ‘But Alpha, how do we go in? We
don’t even know the location of the pack, as they are protected by magic.
Alpha Nick could not be bothered about magic at a time like this. If he intended to have his Daisy
back and still go ahead with the

coronation, then they had to act fast.
‘If I have to use the services of a witch, I would, but get the warriors ready.’
As soon as he ended the mind-link, he said to Sheridan, “We are warring against the Magic pack
tonight.”
“I’ming too,” Sheridan said seriously.

Night fell, and no one in the pack house had eaten anything. The warriors were ready, awaiting the
instruction of their Alpha, as he waited for a witch to be sent to them from the north.

“What if the witch disappoints us? The guests would arrive in the morning,” Sheridan asked
worriedly, dressed in smart clothes to allow for easy movements during attacks and defenses.
Alpha Nick was about to respond when a mind-link zapped through his mind. ‘Alpha, Charlotte and
a man named Goliath are at the gate with Daisy.’
