Day 1

I woke up slowly, thankfully this time I could feel something solid beneath me. At first I thought I was back in bed and everything had been a dream, but as I shifted to get into a more comfortable position I found that this wasn’t the case. I opened my eyes to see a blue sky with a white sun resting at the center. I stared at the sky for a moment trying to figure out what was happening. Maybe I died, is this what happens when you die? I sat up as the thought played in my mind. All around me was desert, the dry ground showed no sign of life. The ground was flat as far as I could see, no rocks, no hills, nothing. I stood up hoping to see something. Did I really die? This could definitely pass as purgatory.

“Hello?” I called out, hoping there was someone here. Even that voice would have been better than nothing, but no answer came. I turned and called out again but still no answer. I started walking in a random direction. I don''t know where I was going but I couldn’t stay still. There was too much happening with nothing to focus on. The constant movement helped me move forward with my thoughts. I couldn’t risk spiraling right now.

I don’t know how long I was walking, it felt like hours, but the sun never moved. Finally I just sat down on the dry ground. Even after all my walking I wasn’t tired or hungry. I wasn’t hot from the sun either, now that I think of it my eyes didn''t hurt from looking at it. Lying on the ground I closed my eyes, I wasn’t tired but I needed some time to figure out my situation. I don’t know where I am, how I got here, or how to find someone to help, I listed off. Some being apparently made me a god but didn''t explain what that means or how to do anything.  What would I be doing if I had been home? I gave a small chuckle if I had been home I would probably be at the movies with my friend Trevor. We had made plans earlier in the week to go see the new action movie. Now I wasn’t sure if I’ll ever see him again. A small pain started in my chest. I missed how he always had something to say, he was always so lively. Now I’m stuck  somewhere where there was nothing. A small tear slipped from my eye and fell down to the thirsty ground below. Suddenly I was very tired; maybe I needed a nap. My last thought before I drifted out of consciousness was of home.
