Caught off guard, she stumbled forward,nding straight into a familiar embrace. Why does this scent feal so familiar? she thought, puzzled and taken aback. Lifting her head, she locked eyes with Walter, who, as it turned out, was the evening’s key investor Richard had alluded to.
Walter’s brows furrowed, his distaste for the situation evident.
With a swift push, ra found herself stumbling aside before another set of hands steadied her, the touch unwee,
“Easy there, beauty, Wouldn’t want you to take a tumble,” the man flirted, his hand sliding up her arm in a presumptuous attempt at familiarity.

As everyone settled, Wird made a point to sit close to ra.
Wird, known for his roving eye, made no secret of his appreciation, openlyplimenting ra’s looks in front of everyone.
“Richard, where did you find such a stunner? She’s quite the looker,” he remarked<b>, </b>though mindful of Walter’s presence.

Attempting to gauge Walter’s interest, Wird asked, “What do you think, Mr. Colon?”
ra, stealing nces at Walter, found his indifference disheartening. What was I expecting? she mused, well aware of his character.
Walter nced at ra’s appearance: the ck dress that highlighted her curves, the subtle makeup enhancing her natural beauty. Yet, his response <b>was </b>dismissive. “in and unremarkable.”
ra’s heart sank. Her makeup, meant for professionalism, now seemed a misguided attempt at allure, especially since she hadn’t anticipated Walter’s involvement.

ra was white–faced, thinking bitterly, ‘in <b>his </b>eyes, I’m just a schemer, unworthy of mention alongside his pristine Tamara.”
Biting back the pain, ra presented the project proposal with feigned calm, hoping to steer the evening back to business, “Mr. Colon, Mr. Hersey, please, have a look at our project proposal.”
