    Before Yao Tang could think for another second, more than a dozen men came rushing forward. They were all sping their sticks and were about to wave them over her head.


    Cheng Yan immediately stood up and was just about to block them away from her. What he didn’t expect was for another group of men to block their way.


    They quickly grabbed the men’s sticks and threw them aside as if they were nothing more than twigs that had been picked up in the yground.


    Before long, the men were surrounded and terribly beaten to the ground.


    Their cries echoed across the cinema, and Cheng Yan could only helplessly watch as some of the men retreated one by one.


    He didn’t know what else to say.


    Suddenly, a woman in ck approached them.


    She had blended quite well with the dark environment. Her long and pointy features appeared solemn as she observed the beaten men from afar.


    Before long, she bowed to Yao Tang. “Miss, we’ve already subdued all of them,” she said sternly. “How would you like to deal with them?”


    Cheng Yan’s eyes shed, and he immediately averted his gaze.


    Yao Tangzily nced at the fallen men before shrugging. “Call the police.”


    When it came to handling these matters, she had always left it up to the police to handle.


    This saved time and effort on her part.


    The stick-waving men were all tied to the ground with their hands strapped behind their backs. Their mouths were stuffed with a white cloth, preventing them from speaking.


    Their faces were red with anger.


    They had originally received a mission to head over to the cinema to teach these two people a lesson. What they didn’t expect was to get beaten down by a group of bodyguards the second they arrived.


    Then again, what else did they expect? They were the only people here. It was clear that they had people watching the vicinity.


    However, if they had known that they’d be facing a group of strong bodyguards, they wouldn’t havee over here in the first ce!


    Could this be some sort of trap? Could the one who had given them the mission want to teach them a lesson?


    Just the thought of this was enough for the men to double over in regret. Even if they wanted to back out now, they had obviously no choice but to stick with it.


    Cheng Yan gazed at the tied-up men, rubbing his temples.


    He had originally invited these men to make a show of him saving her. Obviously, he had thought of signing in some gangly men from the streets, but he wanted to keep things realistic.


    All of the men he had hired were indeed professional fighters.


    Cheng Yan thought that he’d be able to defeat these people and send them to the police station himself. After all, he had experience in thebat field. This would be a piece of cake.


    What he didn’t expect was for her bodyguards to jump out of nowhere and stop them before he could even move.


    Where did they evene from?


    “Yes, miss.”


    The woman in ck nodded and took out her phone to call the police. Once everything was settled, she nced over at Yao Tang. “Miss,e back with me. We have to make sure that no one else would follow you,” she said. “You’re still in danger.”


    Yao Tang thought for a moment. Elder Guanshould’ve left by now. That meant she could finally head back.


    “Okay.”


    Cheng Yan froze. Damn it! If he hadn’t called these hooligans over, then perhaps Yao Tangwouldn’t have to leave so early.


    He nced at the movie screen, trying to suppress his stirring stomach. The movie wasn’t even that good anyway!


    It was a bit boring.


    However, Yao Tang’s presence made everything interesting. He enjoyed the way she nced at the movie screen, the way her lips would curl up whenever he had said something and even her cool dark eyes that would gaze up at him from time to time. Now that she was nning to leave the cinema…


    He nodded helplessly as a trace of disappointment shed across his eyes.


    It was his fault for being too rash. Ever since he had met her, it felt as if hismon sense had been thrown out the window.


    Nheless, he still had time to change things.


    Cheng Yan took a deep breath, recovering his smile. “Let’s go. I’ll send you back.”


    However, before he could say anything else, the female bodyguard interrupted, “Sir, you don’t have to worry. Our boss will be safe with our escort.”


    Given that he was recognized as Yao Tang’s friend, the female bodyguard immediately came to confirm their professionalism.


    Cheng Yan still felt ufortable with this matter.


    “I’ll go back with her. You can head back to work.”


    Did she not know that he wanted to spend some time with her?


    He resisted the urge to sigh.

    Yao Tang was stunned for a moment, gazing up at him with furrowed eyebrows. What exactly did he mean by that?


    “Qin Hao needed to take care of some things just now, so he had to drive away first.” Cheng Yan rubbed his forehead with a sigh. “Do you think you can take me back?”
