    Lucas realized the issue and looked down at Aveline, who was trembling against him, too exhausted to speak. “I’ll have someone take her out. You can watch everything from the surveince room, okay?”

    Lucas turned to Sasha. “Keep an eye on Sophia. Don’t let her leave too soon.”

    Maria stood up, exchanged a nce with Lucas, and then gently said to Aveline, “Let’s go home and get you changed, alright?”


    Aveline nodded weakly. “Okay.”


    Maria helped Aveline to her feet. “Mr. Tudor, I’ll take her home now.”


    “Alright,” Lucas replied.


    As Maria and Aveline left, Lucas sank into the sofa in the private room, lighting a cigarette. Smoke swirled around him as he reyed Aveline’s words in his mind. Her voice, full of despair, echoed in his thoughts–she med him for all her suffering.


    Taking out his phone, Lucas dialed Desmond’s number.
