A lifetime is indeed long, buting from the girl’s mouth, Henry felt like a lifetime might not
be enough.
He held the girl’s hand, and Evelyn embraced him. “I’m tired; let’s sleep for a while.”
The room suddenly fell silent.
It continued until David lightly knocked on the door.

As David entered, he saw Henry carefully covering Evelyn’s ears and signaling him to speak quietly.
“Madam asked me to investigate a restaurant. I found that Abbott was mistreating a woman in one of
the VIP rooms, the one William booked.”
David, under pressure, continued, “Abbott probably approached William because of that piece ofnd.
On the day of the auction, Abbott had the number 14 tag. If it wasn’t for William, that piece ofnd
would have been his.”
It was well–known that Abbott had psychological issues, and he was ruthless towards both men and
women, seeking revenge for the slightest offense.
William doesn’t want to get hurt, so he pushes Evelyn forward.
Regarding the woman recing Evelyn, David didn’t have much information. He only heard that she
was badly injured.
Henry looked at Evelyn in his arms tenderly, then raised his head, his eyes seeming to roar like a wild
beast.
“Investigate where Abbott is,” he demanded.
At this moment, the VIP room in that restaurant was in a mess.
Bloodstains were everywhere, tables and chairs shattered and scattered around. The only intact chair
held a woman with disheveled hair, barely covered in torn clothes. Her battered face was barely
recognizable.
