Icy glint touched Kate’s eyes. “Has Ruth divulged the father’s identity? How advanced is her pregnancy?”
Mr. Lyress sighed, “She’s not yet four months pregnant, allegedly Simon’s.”
Kate terminated the call after rifying the particrs.
She furrowed her brow slightly, peering towards the examination room.
Simon had perished in prison at this juncture, and now Ruth was coincidentally discovered pregnant with his child. Legally, she would remain under watch until the birth, not incarcerated.
Is this all too much of a happenstance?
She mused on these matters as the examination <b>room </b>door opened at that instant.
