    Kneeling on the plush bed, Gwendolyn sped her hands over her chest, her almond eyes misty with

    “I’ll be right there.”


    After hanging up, Gwendolyn was fully aware that on–call doctors usually handle such emergencies,

    She looked apologetically at Howard, “Mr. Chadwick, I must go to the hospital,”

    “Okay.” Gwendolyn nodded and hurried to the dressing room to change before leaving


    Howard’s gaze turned dark, his eyes resting on the bed strewn with adult toys, feeling a sense of


    emptiness. He picked up his phone and saw the recent call log, his gaze flickering.


    He deleted the familiar number, then he dialed Nathan’s number.
