She approached Howard with an easy gmce, tilting her head back to meet his gaze
It was clear that Gwendolyn ced great importance on this gathering.
For someone who rarely wore makeup, a touch of it now enhanced her features. Her brows and eyes
were more defined, her lips touched with a light lipstick that seemed so inviting. To match her dress,
she carried a clutch with all the essentials for a night out.
Howard’s eyes lingered on her, causing Gwendolyn to blush with embarrassment.
s something amiss, Mr. Chadwick? Her voice was tinged with unease.
“Not at all, you look stunning,” he said, far more so than on the night of your wedding with that heavy

He extended his arm slightly, an invitation.
Unable to contain her smile, Gwendolyn linked her arm with his.
They left the house sweetly arm–in–arm and Cliff held the car door open for them.

them.
“What’s the matter?” Howard seemed to pick up on her difort and inquired.
“It’s nothing.” Gwendolyn replied, her mouth suddenly dry. Instinctively, she licked her lips, tasting the

Her eyes cast down, she couldn’t help but notice his slender, pale fingers.

“All set.”
“Thank you, Mr. Chadwick.”
Gwendolyn quickly turned away, as if releasing a heavy sigh of relief.
The car sped along, finallying to a stop in front of the Visionary Values Club.
The Visionary Values Club resembled a quaint manor, exuding an air of sophistication and elegance.
Without knowing it was a social club, many might mistake it for a private abode.
With pavilions and small bridges over water as well as the quiet elegance of the entrance, one had to
venture further in to find the lively atmosphere.
Arge Western–style courtyard greeted them at the entrance. A grand hall filled with diverse patrons
lay inside. The private lounges on the upper levels, surrounded by balconies, promised a night of
leisure.
“Mr. Chadwick, wee.”
The waiter recognized Howard immediately.
“Mr. Thomas has already instructed us to take you to him upon arrival.” The waiter was respectful, his
gaze carefully averted.
