Chapter 64
Chapter 64
Bayridge University’s online forum was buzzing with scandal and spection. Gossip about the drama
at Bayridge Hospital had not yet reached the campus.
“Did you hear? Gwendolyn might get the boot from Bayridge Hospital.”
“I bet she only got that internship by sleeping her way to the top. The school’s doing a deep dive, and
she might even get expelled.”
“That’s not even a question, man. It’s all but confirmed.”
“She acts all high and mighty, but who knows how many guys she’s been with.”
The online debates were fiery.
Then, out of the blue, Jeannie posted under her real name.
She was a Bayridge University alum, and her ount was well–known.
She dropped a bombshell photo – Howard and Gwendolyn’s marriage certificate.
“Anyone smearing Gwendolyn will be getting a summons from the court.”
Talk about a power move.
”
“Jeannie’s sister–inw is Gwendolyn?”
“Has the world gone mad? This has to be some kind of illusion.”
“I
mean, I thought Gwendolyn might be innocent, but I never guessed she married into wealth.”
The campus was in shock.
No one saw iting that Gwendolyn was actually married to Howard.
Those leaked photos? Just the everyday life of a high–societydy, switching up luxury cars–like
outfits. She didn’t need to go around seducing old men.
Her intimate photos with her husband? That was just marital spice, not some affair. But someone had
taken those priváte moments and twisted them to tarnish her name.
The person behind it was downright vile.
“Who’s spreading these rumors? Hiding behind anonymity, huh? They must be green with envy over
Gwendolyn.”
“I didn’t say a word, but those who did are for sure gonna face the wrath of the Chadwick family.”
Mamie was holed up in her dorm, frantically refreshing her phone, eyes bloodshot and body sweating
bullets.

way, the forum was anonymous. They couldn’t possibly know I’m the instigator sheforted herself.
Suddenly, the school announced a tech upgrade for the forum with full names on disy. All those
anonymous posts now showed real identities.
Mamie’s name stood out like a sore thumb.
Herments were vulgar and vile.
“Gwendolyn’s nothing but a whore, luring every guy.”
Just like a worn–out shoe that’s been passed around.”

Not at all the words of a ssy university student.
Mamie smashed her phone, letting out a cry of despair.
Her roommates looked on, a mix of wariness and disdain on their faces.
“Mamie, that’s way out of line. What did Gwendolyn ever do to you? After so many years as
ssmates, you do her dirty like that.”
“You even routed your debt collectors‘ calls to me. You’re no rich girl, living on borrowed money for
those designerbels.”
Fraud.”
That day, the university decided to expel Mamie. She was like public enemy number one, everyone
was out to get her

Howard lounged in his wheelchair, eyeing the cup of tea before him, “I’m a patient, what’s with the tea?
Ever heard ofmon sense?”
“If you don’t want it, you can leave.”
Sanford sat in the executive chair, his expression stern.
“Sanford, you run the admin here. My wife gets harassed, and you, as the director, show no support?
Howard’s smile faded as he spoke.
“Polly gets a note on her record, and Mack Smith gets a demotion,” Sanford said, setting down his pen.
“Not enough. They need to do a month’s worth of grunt work, and learn how to properly care for
patients.”
Howard wanted to stand up for Gwendolyn.
That’s not ording to hospital policy.” refused Sanford.
