    The doctor exined.

    "But you have to listen to Mom."


    "Yes I will." Hendric clenched his little fists and said, "I am a real man. I will protect Mommy when


    Daddy is not here."


    Watching her son speak in such a cute but sincere tone, a gentle smile appeared on Coralie''s face.


    "You should rest soon, President Hond."


    The doctor knew there was much for the trio to catch up on since they were about to be separated


    soon. Hence, he suggested that Skr get some rest.

    When Coralie came over with Hendric, it was alreadyte as they only departed after she got off work.


    It was already eight o''clock and they had barely spoken. Furthermore, Hendric usually went to bed


    before nine o''clock.


    "Go get changed and head to bed." Coralie ordered Hendric.


    In the room, Coralie retrieved Hendric''s pyjamas from the small suitcase. Hendric obediently changed


    into his pyjamas and brought his toothbrush to the bathroom to clean his teeth.


    From the bathroom, he shouted, "Mom, I can''t reach it!"


    At Hendric''s call, Coralie stood up to head to the bathroom but Skr stopped her. "You should rest. I''ll


    go."


    Hendric was standing before the basin, frustrated at its height when Skr came in.


    Bringing Hendric up onto hisp again, Skr helped Hendric reach the basin as he brushed his teeth.


    When Hendric was done, he turned around and hugged Skr''s neck with his little arms. He said in a


    whisper, "Dad, I have a secret to tell you."


    "What is it?" Skr appeared eager and surprised.


    He deliberately hushed his voice. To Skr, Hendric was just a child. His secret was probably


    something to do with eating sweets or the like.


    However, Hendric put his arms around Skr''s neck and said, "A bad person came to our house a few


    days ago. She said something bad about Mom, Uncle and Grandma. I drove her away to protect


    everyone."


    Hendric looked at Skr with gleaming eyes, as if he was expecting to be praised.


    Skr, however, seemed a little worried.


    A bad person? If she reprimanded Coralie, Wayne and Hera, she was probably someone from the


    Hond family, but who would give Coralie any trouble?


    "What does the bad person look like? Can you tell me about her?" Skr asked.


    "Of course, her perfume is really strong." Hendric said.


    "And?"


    Skr''s initial guess was Lillian Ford, but he couldn''t be sure.


    "She seems like a bad person. Uncle likes a girl, and she wouldn''t allow Uncle to be with that girl."


    Hendric''s ability to express himself was still limited. It was difficult to tell if ''she'' was a woman, a girl, or

    Hendric to bed and tucked him in.


    The journey to the rehabilitation center was a long and mountainous one, and Hendric was still a child.


    The ride tired him out. He slept soundly on a small bed specifically prepared for him after saying


    goodnight to his parents.


    After Hendric fell asleep, Skr asked, "My aunt went over to your ce?"


    He knew Queenie would definitely make things difficult for Wayne and Jamie, but he was not expecting


    her to pay the Chariott family a visit.


    Queenie was a proud and smart person. Based on her character, she would not have caused any


    trouble for the Chariott family.


    "Hmm? So you''ve heard about it?"


    Coralie was a little surprised that Skr was aware of the surprise visit.


    She had not intended on telling Skr about this matter, because she was rude to Queenie even

    "Hendric told me about it earlier," Skr said.


    "Yes, she was there."


    Coralie didn''t know what exactly Hendric told him. She could only tell Skr about the general


    situation.


    She also told him that she spoke really harshly towards Queenie.


    Hearing this, Skr pulled Coralie to his side. He looked at her face lined with worry and said, "It''s


    alright. If you think they went too far, just do what you think is right. Don''t worry about me"


    Skr still remembered the time Corrine Quincy provoked Coralie. Coralie did not refute but she


    poured a ss of red wine onto Corrine''s head.


    That was who Coralie truly was.


    When she dealt with Lilian and Queenieter on, she chose to put up with them, hiding her true self


    from the world.


    "I''ll try my best to avoid them."


    Coralie was mainly referring to Lillian.


    Lillian was the only one who was aggressive towards Coralie, and yet Coralie could do nothing about


    her.


    "By the way, do you want to attend Skyton Corporation''s annual meeting next week?"


    Skr asked her out of the blue.


    "Why do you ask? Are you going?"


    "Yes, I want you to apany me to the meeting, since I''ll be gone for half a year. To save you the


    worry, I''d like to announce our rtionship before I head off."


    Skr''s tone was teasing as he ced his hand around her waist and pulled her closer to him. His


    gaze met hers as he eagerly awaited her answer.


    "We''ve been separated for almost four years, yet I wasn''t worried at all. What difference is another half


    a year going to make?"


    It was wonderful that Skr was willing to publicly announce their rtionship.


    However, she didn''t want to rush it either. Now that Skr was crippled, it would affect Skyton


    Corporation''s image as he was the president.


    "Just take it as me being worried about you instead," Skr replied.


    He gently tugged on her arm and brought her towards himself as his thin lipsnded on hers.
