    Kate raised her hand, warped it around his neck, and kissed his face. “Darling, you’re not dreaming; I’m

    David felt alive when he felt her bite on his shoulder; she had little strength. Her tiny teeth felt like a

    David finally let her go and leaned back to look at her face; he didn’t dare to blink, not even for a

    Kate used her sweet voice on him. Though she was saying to coax him, everything was true; she


    knows he was in pain because of her.
