    Chapter 368

    Chapter 368

“I’ve just arrived and am moving stuff in. I’ll send you the addresster,” I nced out the car window.

Movers were still scurrying around, but I figured they were about to wrap up soon.

“Okay, I’ll rest up then; remember to send it to me,” Ste bid me goodnight.

After hanging up, I looked up news about myself, and sure enough, articles about my infertility popped

up. They were saying that Neil and I were supposed to reconcile, but my issue caused me to be

dumped, and then Karina showed up, so I got ditched.

Seeing those exaggerated words, I found them somewhat funny, but deep down, I felt like they were

    spot on.

“Alright, Rena, we’re almost done. Why don’t you go rest in your room?” My mom said, peering in from

    the car window.

“Okay, I’ll head in,” I replied, about to climb out of the car, when suddenly I stopped. I took out my

phone and blocked Neil and Russel from all contact methods. In that instant, it felt as if the world had

be quieter. That was where I was going to be living from now on.

The small vi was nice, and the rooms had a slight European ir. After a shower, I was about to hit

the hay when a call came in. It was Kitty.

Kitty disappeared a while ago, seemingly popping in and out of Neil’s and my lives.

I never asked where she went because, back-then, I was nning to give Neil another shot. We might

reconcile, so why bother stirring up Kitty?

Seeing the caller ID, I eventually picked up.

“Irene, you and Neil aren’t together anymore?” Kitty’s voice was as lively as ever, filled with surprise.

“Mhm, we won’t be together anymore. How about you? Haven’t heard from you in a while,” I asked.

“My dad’s health isn’t great; I got pissed, so I’ve been with him this whole time. Plus, I’ve been set up

on blind dates. So annoying,” Kitty sighed after finishing her

    sentence.

She used to not care about her dad. I didn’t expect he’d still affect her.

“Take good care of your dad.” I didn’t know what else to say, so I could only remind her.

“Who’s Karina?” Kitty’s curiosity was insatiable. Instead of hanging up, she started questioning me, “Is

she Neil’s ex? But didn’t she die a long time ago? Bonnie even got her heart transnted; howe

she’s suddenly alive and even has a son?”

I couldn’t answer those questions, so I could only reply, “I don’t know.”

“Alright, I’ll be back in Rosemont tomorrow. How about we grab a meal?” Kitty proposed.

“I’m not there anymore. If I go back to Rosemont in the future, I’ll treat you then.” I felt a bit drowsy as

we were chatting. My mood hadn’t been great around that time. So I always felt tired and just wanted to

    sleep.

After noticing my demeanor, Kitty didn’t insist; she merely told me she would find Neil because she

never nned to give up on him.

Of course, I supported her. Herpetition then wasn’t me. It was Karina.

That night, I slept soundly, not tossing and turning like I did in Rosemont. Being in a new environment

seemed to lighten my load a bit.

After spending about a week in H City, I gradually got used to life there. My daily routine was taking

care of nts with my mom, then walking Daisy. I fully rxed, as if my past life were far away. Only

when I saw news about Neil and Karina did I recall past events.

The media reported that Neil had a paternity test done; the results showed they were rted. So then

    Neil really had a kid.

“Rena, leaving there was the right choice; otherwise, you would’ve been hurt even more,” my mom

    brought this up during dinner.

“Why bring up these things? Eat!” My dad red at my mom, telling her not to mention my painful past.

“Dad, don’t worry, it’s okay for us as a family to discuss these things. I’ve let it go.” I said, chuckling

    while munching on toast.

Not just the matter of Neil having a kid, but my likely inability to have kids too, was something my

parents knew about. They took the news just as hard as I did. I even heard my mom quietly crying at

night. But in front of me, they never brought it up voluntarily, fearing it would upset me.

Actually, I could handle it. If they wanted to talk, they could talk. If it made them feel better, that was

fine. If they still had hope for me, I was willing to see a doctor with them. I was willing to cooperate.

Then, my parents were my biggest support in the world. Whatever made them happy, I would do it. 1

no longer cared about my own thoughts

The only thing I didn’t want was to be forced to find a man.

“I heard there’s a hospital that’s great at treating infertility, Rena. How about we go check it out

tomorrow? Even if you don’t get married again, you can still have your own kid!” My mom always

wanted to have a grandchild, but I couldn’t fulfill her wish.

    L

Seeing my mom’s pleading eyes, I didn’t refuse. I obediently nodded in agreement.

Only then did my mom show a satisfied smile. After dinner, she went to clean the dishes, and I went to

shower, feeling a bit worried about my body. My period was irregr again this month, with less flow,

and my lower abdomen wasn’t as painful as before, but there was a vague pain.

Maybe I should have gone to a hospital for a checkup, then taken care of my body.

Even if I remained single for life, I needed a healthy body. I still had to take care of my parents.

The next moming, my mom woke me up early. My dad drove us to a gynecology hospital. It was a

small private hospital, and the air conditioning was sting. I followed the doctor’s directions, doing the

examination step by step, while my mom apanied me, waiting outside while I was being

    examined.

That’s not right!” The doctor doing the ultrasound was a bit puzzled, “Miss, aren’t you already

    pregnant? Why are you here for an infertility checkup? Thank goodness we did an ultrasound first;

what if the other tests harmed you?”

I was lying on the bed, with my clothes pulled up, revealing a t stomach. My previously calm heart

began to pound. It felt like I was hearing things. Even my own Voice sounded strange, “What? I’m

    pregnant?”

“Yes, look. There’s a gestational sac here, right here!” The doctor even pointed it out for me.

Lwas totally clueless, just staring nkly at that little ck thing. After a few seconds, an overwhelming

joy bubbled up inside me, like the poorest person in the world suddenly hitting the jackpot!

‘I’m really pregnant? Is that my baby?” I stuttered out the question.

“You’re not a little girl anymore. How can you not even know you’re pregnant? Oh my, the doctor

suddenly looked again, “You’re having twins!”
