If there were no moreplications between Neil and me, Mom would never want to leave here.

you ept that?”
“Yes.” Mom replied very firmly. “If it’s meant to be, we’ll see each other again.”
Her answer made me feel a bit better. I didn’t want to force myself to be with someone I didn’t love.
When I got home, Hannah had prepared avish dinner to wee my father back. We hadn’t eaten
together like this in a long time. It felt like a dream.
Since I had decided to leave this ce, the handling of thepany would be a big issue. Mom found
a reliable friend to entrust with the transfer of the Finch family’spany. We just needed to pack up
and prepare to leave as soon as possible. If there was anything that needed to be handled, we would
send someone back.
I had no objections to this arrangement.
I thought Neil might not want to hold me back anymore. After all, he was now facing a dilemma he

I still wanted to remind her.
Ste was pregnant now, and Barbara‘ kids were already a month old. If I left, they would have to wait
a while to visit me. It was not easy with kids. Only Alicia would have an easier time.
“I get it; I won’t tell Mitch. You and Neil…” Ste didn’t finish her sentence.
“You all know that Karina is back, right? Sometimes there’s no need to humiliate yourself.” I gave a light
laugh and took a sip of my bitter ck coffee. Suddenly, it tasted awful. I should be drinking milk,
orange juice, or something sweet and sour. Otherwise, the bitterness in my heart would only be
magnified.
Ste and the others exchanged nces; their expressions lookedplicated. Karina’s resurrection
