    Chapter 355

    Chapter 355

“What’s this stuff?” Neil’s gaze fell on my medicine as a frown appeared on his face. “Are you feeling

    unwell?”

I replied impatiently, “It’s a tonic. That woman you just saw is my doctor. You might’ve pissed her off.”

Neil casually picked up the medicine, sniffed it, and made a dismissivement. “What kind of doctor

    offers home delivery service?”

“She’s not working in any hospital at the moment. She just got back from abroad. Could you look up

some information on her?” I was suspicious of Snow’s identity. If Neil could find something out, it might

be helpful. I needed to know who she really was.

My health was in her hands, after all. I needed to be careful.

Neil raised an eyebrow. “Irene, are you out of your mind? You’re entrusting your health to a frence

doctor? You think you’ve got lives to spare?”

If it weren’t for Ste’s pregnancy, I wouldn’t have believed Snow so easily.

I didn’t want to discuss my health issues with Neil. I simply packed up my medicine and said, “If you

don’t want to investigate, that’s fine. You don’t have to interfere with my decisions.”

After putting away the medicine, I returned to the living room. “Let’s go. Weren’t we supposed to pick

    up Daisy from Sterling Estates?”

I was slightly angry, but Neil justughed. He got up and wrapped his arm around my waist. “Why are

you so easy to anger these days? What should I do if you’re always mad at me?”

“Aren’t you an expert in handling such situations?” I replied impassively.

He’d managed all his former scandals and the women he’d been with well, with no one daring to

    badmouth him.

Whenever I brought up the past, Neil would always look helpless. “Let’s not talk about this. You know

what happened with those women. Haven’t I been scandal-free since our divorce?”

“What about Bonnie? The rumors are still flying.” I walked out the door as I casually said this.

“Don’t you know why those rumors between Bonnie and me exist?” Neil pinched my waist like he was

    punishing me.

I squealed in pain. Why did Neil always have to be so touchy?

But I understood Neil’s frustration. After all, I was the one who caused it.

Neil’s car was parked not far away. As we were bickering and heading downstairs, I spotted Snow,

standing under the sun dressed in ck. It wasn’t even nine yet, but the sun was already scorching

    everything around.

She was standing not far from Neil’s car, so I asked, “Snow, why are you still here?”

“I called for a ride. I’m waiting.” Snow’s response confused me. She shouldn’t be short of money. Why

    didn’t she have a car?

Since she’d already mentioned it, I offered to give her a ride. “Still staying at a hotel? We can give you

    a lift.”

Neil’s face fell at my suggestion. It seemed like he didn’t want to y chauffeur.

Snow nodded. “Is it convenient? If so, thank you.”

“Sure!” I answered before Neil could say anything. He gave me a look but didn’t say anything. He just

    got in the car.

I gestured for Snow to get in too. To my surprise, she took the front seat.

She apologized, “I get carsick. Sitting in the front helps.”

Wasn’t she a doctor? Wasn’t there a cure for motion sickness?

Of course, I couldn’t ask her that directly. It was just a front seat. She was my doctor, and I had no

reason to fuss about it. All I did was to nod and take the back

    seat.

Neil didn’t seem very pleased. He gave Snow a look full of discontent.

The ride was almost silent. When we reached the hotel, Snow thanked me and Neil and got out of the

car. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary until a seven or eight-year-old boy ran out of the hotel door. He

    ran straight towards her.

Neil was about to drive off, but he paused. I was also looking at the boy because he looked a lot like

    Neil.

He was the spitting image of Neil!

Snow crouched down, opened her arms, and embraced the boy. She then deliberately looked back at

us. She said something to the boy, and he waved goodbye to us with a big smile on his face.

I didn’t know what was going on in Neil’s mind, but I was shocked. It was as if he’d been struck by

    lightning.

Howe there was a boy so simr to Neil? And he was Snow’s son? I remembered what she said

abouting back to the country to find her son’s father. Could Neil be the father?

    My mind was spinning.

“Neil, don’t you think the boy looks like you?” I asked directly, “Could he be your secret love child?”

“Impossible!” Neil answered firmly. “I’m absolutely sure I’ve never had that kind of rtionship with

    those women.”

“He really looks like you. And I remember Snow saying she came back to the country to find her son’s

father.” My intuition was telling me that Snow’s interest in me had something to do with Neil. After all, I

    was his ex-wife.

Neil suddenly got angry and interrupted me. “Don’t I know my own past? It’s impossible. There are

many lookalikes in the world. Stop overthinking.”

I was startled by Neil’s tone. He was harsh, but he was right. I couldn’t just assume they were rted

because the boy looked like him.

I didn’t say anything more until the car stopped at the gate of Sterling Estates. Neil broke the silence.

    “Get out.”

“Okay.” I got out of the car. As I opened the gate, I heard a dog barking. Daisy was calling out to us

from not far away. Someone was giving it a bath, and it

suddenly ran towards us, excitedly running around me and Neil.

Daisy had grown a lot in just a few months. I had only visited Sterling Estates once or twice over that

period, and I hadn’t seen it.

“Daisy, stay still!” Neil was worried that I would be knocked over by the dog, so hemanded it

    sternly.

Daisy seemed to understand. It stopped trying to pounce on me and instead whined, sounding both

    excited and aggrieved.

Just then, Faith popped out. As soon as she saw me, a big grin spread across her face. “Irene, you’re

here. Neil told me you’d be taking Daisy. I’ve been waiting for you.”

I shot a nce at Neil. He was clearly the one who strong-armed me into taking the dog.
