    “Ste Wace needs to see me.” That was the lie I made up.


    When I arrived at the parking lot of the Orchid Hotel that night, Oscar was already beaten up.


    A few thuggish men, fat, with cigarettes in their mouths, started tough when they saw me, “Is this


    your back up? A woman?”


    “Did you bring her here to spend the night with us topensate for your mistake?” Another guy said


    even more vulgarly.


    I walked up to Oscar, helping him up. This young man was beaten up so badly that I could barely


    recognize him. The situation was terrible.


    “Irene, I’m working part-time as a valet here, and I identally scratched their car. I said I could pay,

    “What car? Let me take a look.” I asked.


    Oscar pointed at a car not far away. Under the dim light, a small white car was parked there.

    “What? Someone dares to bully Ms. Finch’s friend?!” The general manager immediately turned to the


    fat guys, “It’s you guys, right?”


    The fat guys seemed a bit stunned. The Orchid Hotel is a five-star hotel, quiterge in Rosemont, so


    they know they can’t afford to mess with it.


    Sometimes, power is so effective that even the most violent people have to bow to it.


    Those arrogant fat guys, although they didn’t know my real identity, under the deterrence of the hotel


    manager, they apologized to me respectfully andpensated for Oscar’s medical expenses.


    As they were about to leave dejectedly, I spoke up, “Wait a minute.”

    “Irene…” Oscar was stunned, his bloodshot eyes filled with fear and hesitation. It was already good

    The parking lot quickly returned to peace. The hotel manager invited me for a drink, but I wasn’t

    On the way to the hospital, I chatted with Oscar and learned that his father had injured his foot a few


    days ago and was in the hospital, so he wanted to do more part-time jobs before school starts to try to


    make up his tuition.


    The reason he chose to call me for help was because his intuition told him that I could help.
