Chapter 778 Nobody Would Question His Love for Her
As Chloe gazed at Noah''s handsome and kind face, scenes of him being by her side filled her mind.
Her heart ached, and she dared not imagine his possible connection to Duskfall. She even more so
dared not delve deeper and question if he was involved in what had happened five years ago.
Despite the warmth of the room, Chloe still felt goosebumps erupt on her skin.
"What''s wrong? You seem lost in thought," Noah asked, his expression unreadable. A flicker of
probing could be seen in his eyes.
"I''m just a little under the weather," Chloe answered as dug her nails into her palm, using the pain to
maintain her calm and rity. "I think I overate during lunch."
"The new products areunching soon. You must be under constant pressure at work. How about
you take a few days off at home while I help keep an eye on your department?"
"It’s fine. I''ll just go to bed early tonight and sleep in a little tomorrow. I’ll go to work in the afternoon."
Noah bent down and looked at her gently, saying in a tone like one would use when coddling a
child, "You work so hard, Coco. You’re a shoo-in for the top employee spot next quarter."
Chloe wanted to respond with a smile but found shecked the strength to lift the corners of her
mouth. Surrendering to her fatigue, she replied lightly, "Thank you, and remember to give me a big
bonus."
Noah noticed the change in her demeanor, but neither of them revealed the other''s facade. "Sure,
I''ll give you however much you want. What''s mine is yours. Also, you have an appointment for a
wedding dress fitting tomorrow, right? Shall we go together?"
Chloe turned to look at him, unable to fathom how this man who had treated her so well had spun
such a big lie. Overwhelmed by a sense of powerlessness, she sighed heavily. "You go ahead with
your own ns. I can manage."
"Well, I do need to get a suit."
Chloe averted her eyes, her tone nonchnt as she said, "Then let''s go together some other day.
I''m busy with work at the moment. I''ll speak to Grandfather about it."
She did not wish to marry someone she could not trust. Though there was no love between them,
what she truly wanted was a life free of deception. She refused to allow anyone to fool her any
longer.
Noah''s face showed a hint of concern as he tried to hug her. However, Chloe skillfully dodged him
and gently asserted, "I’d like to rest now."
His arms hovered in mid-air. He lowered his gaze, concealing the dark glint in his eyes as he asked,
"Have I done something to upset you?"
Chloe took a deep breath, her gaze filled with unspoken emotions. "Have you been hiding
something from me?" This was thest chance she would give him toe clean. If he confessed,
she was willing to listen to him.
A flicker of confusion crossed Noah''s face as he replied, "No. Why do you suddenly ask?"
Her nails dug deep into her flesh as she stiffly shook her head, trying topose herself. "Just
asking."
"Well, there is one thing I’ve been hiding from you."

Chloe''s clenched hands rxed a little as she asked, "What is it?"
"It’s about Michael," he said with a bitter smile. "I was too impulsive, and you''re right. Issues can be
discussed properly. I shouldn''t have destroyed someone''s future out of jealousy. I''m really sorry."
Chloe''s lips parted but her throat felt as though it was stuffed with cotton. She suddenly did not
know what to say.
"Promise me something, Coco. Don''t let nonsense from others affect what we have. I would never
hurt you. Nobody is without ws and everyone has their imperfections. I’m willing to make changes
in response to the issues you raised. So, shall we go dress shopping tomorrow? The designer was
specially invited from abroad, and I know you’ll like his style."
Noah, wearing a ck t-shirt and ck pants, was illuminated by the warm rays of dusk. His eyes
shone brightly, containing a kind of affection only revealed when facing a loved one. At that
moment, the whole world could feel his sincerity. Nobody would question his love for her.
