Chapter 757 Noah Had Deceived Her
Upon hearing this, Chloe fell silent for a moment. "I may not be able to handle Duskfall."
That organization was too dangerous, and even though she knew their objectives, she dared not to
provoke them easily.
"I''ll be by your side." Joseph paused, then added, "By the way, Vanya’s still alive."
The image of a sinister fox mask took shape in Chloe’s mind, sending shivers down her spine. Her
nerves tightened as she asked, "What?"
Joseph briefly exined Vanya’s capture and the deal she made with Cyrus. Chloe was shocked to
discover that Joseph had kept Vanya captive all these years, and even more shocked to learn that
the Sinirs had so heartlessly abandoned Vanya.
"I don''t need you to do anything. I have my ns, and they’ll eventually pay for their
transgressions," Joseph said calmly, but Chloe could sense the raging hatred beneath his surface
composure.
She pursed her lips. "Is Vanya important to your n?"
"Yes, she''s well-informed of Duskfall''s secrets."
"Then ask her about their secrets."
"Cyrus fed her with a slow-acting poison, so she’s now severely ill and often unconscious. To cure
her, we need to get Dr. Z."
This doctor did not work for any specific country and was difficult to track down. Few knew her true
identity, making it near impossible to seek help from her.
"Dr. Z?" Chloe''s eyes lit up. "I can try to reach out."
She had always felt that her baby''s death was suspicious. The baby had been born safely but
perished in the fire? Though she had no clue why, she suspected that Duskfall was pulling some
strings, and Vanya must know the details.
Joseph raised an eyebrow and a glimmer of surprise shed through his eyes. "You know Dr. Z?"
"I do, but whether I can get Dr. Z toe here is uncertain. But before that, I want to meet with
Vanya first," Chloe said. She did not agree immediately as she knew that this matter would be
challenging. She would never give empty promises just to make herself look good.
A faint smile appeared on Joseph''s face as he said gently, "Sure. I''ll pick you up tomorrow afternoon
at three."
Chloe nodded and waved, implying that he could leave now. She dared not let Joseph stay at the
Sullivan estate for too long because of what happened that night. It made her feel like she was
meeting a secret lover.
However, Joseph did not leave immediately. He looked toward the hall with a meaningful look and
ced a pen drive in her hand. "Here, your engagement gift.''"

Chloe went to her bedroom and plugged the pen drive into herputer. There was only one video
that contained a secret recording of a private room. She recognized one of the men in the video as
the CEO of a media and entertainmentpany.
The man looked intoxicated, holding onto a ss of wine as he slurred, "Michael, you’re a valuable
artist, but unfortunately, you offended Exotic Star’s Mr. Noah. He ordered a nket ban on you, and
I can’t reject him."
The night breeze blew in through the open window, and Chloe felt a chill in her heart. She had
chosen to believe Noah, yet he had deceived her.

Downstairs, with Callum watching over Ophelia, she did not dare to cause a big scene no matter
how wronged she felt. Eventually, Keh took Ophelia away. They sat in the car, but even the
pleasant music from the radio could not drown out the sounds of her sobbing.
"How could Dad scold me because of Chloe?" Ophelia cried bitterly.
"There, there. Stop crying. I didn''t expect Dad to take Chloe''s side either," Keh consoled.
"He scolded me!"
"I know. We’ll talk about it with Mom when we get home and see if she can do anything about it.”
"Dad scolded me!!!" Ophelia shouted at the top of her lungs as if she had been grievously wronged.

Keh felt the need to redirect his sister''s attention and cleared his throat. "I heard you call Chloe
a mistress. Whose rtionship did she interfere with?"
Ophelia stopped crying and turned to look at her brother. "Not Chloe, her mother. She interfered in
our parents'' rtionship. Chloe is Dad''s illegitimate daughter."
Keh mmed on the brakes. A stunned look dawned upon his face and his voice went up a few
notches. "What did you just say? Please don’t scare me like this."
"I''m not scaring you. Dad didn''t tell me, but I overheard their conversation. He told me not to tell you
for now."
"So, like mother, like daughter!"
Ophelia immediately understood Keh''s implication and smacked him. "Don''t get things mixed
up. Chloe was married to Joseph at the time, so no matter what, Xavia’s the one at fault. She''s not
a good woman, and that''s an undeniable fact. You''re the one who’s confused and is believing in the
wrong person."
