Chapter 695 You Rescuing Me Was Premeditated
Noah noticed her little gestures and softened his voice, gently coaxing, "What''s wrong? Did Joseph
bully you again?"
Chloe paused. A hint of emotion flickered across her fair face. She hesitated for a moment, knowing
deep down that Noah was the one who treated her well. She then took out the blueprints and
handed them to him. "Actually, it''s nothing. He just gave me this."
Noah walked over and examined the blueprints. He quickly recognized them as the structural ns
of the hospital where the fire had taken ce.

Chloe stared into Noah''s eyes and said, "Joseph told me that your rescuing me was premeditated."
Noah looked up. His eyes looked clear and honest. "Do you believe that?"
"I don''t," she replied decisively. Some individuals and situations were known only to oneself, and
she had a clear opinion in her heart.
Noah calmly continued. "I''ve been aware of the unique design of this hospital for quite some time.
The architect behind it is the father of one of my high school ssmates. We used to spend time
together, and I came across the designs by chance. The secret passage was in use back then, but
as time passed, with fewer emergency situations and changes in leadership, fewer people came to
know about it."
"I see." Chloe picked up a ss and took a sip of water, her smile retaining its warmth. "I knew I
could trust you not to lie to me. Joseph just can''t stand to see others doing well."
Noah gazed at her radiant smile and flexed his fingertips. He then looked away, saying, "He''s just
concerned about your well-being and is afraid that you might be tricked."
Chloe let out a tired yawn. "Don''t defend him."
If he really cared about her, why had he waited until now to show it?
"Okay, okay. You must be tired so get some rest. You have to go to work tomorrow."
"Mhm, goodnight then."
Noah chuckled softly as he helped turn off the lights. "Goodnight."

For two consecutive days, life was peaceful. But on this particr day, after getting off work, Chloe
made her way to Xavia''s recital. The venue was filled with an audience mainlyposed of middle-
aged men and young art enthusiasts, all drawn to Xavia''s particr style.
Chloe found her seat and sat down.
"This ticket from a scalper cost me three times the original price. It wasn''t easy to get it."
"Be content that you even managed to score a ticket. Three times the price isn''t too bad."
"Yeah, I agree. It''s a pity that Xavia’s already married. Otherwise, she’d be even more popr right
now."
"Hmph, I never liked that Joseph guy. He''s just a little rich and a little good-looking. What''s so good
about him? He’s a divorcee."
"Exactly! I don''t understand why Joseph''s ex-wife just doesn’t reconcile with him. She just had to
bring trouble to Xavia."
"Then why did she bring trouble to me?"
A sudden clear and bright voice sliced through the noisy atmosphere like lightning on a summer''s
day. Nearby fans were stunned, their attention now drawn to the center of the audience seats.
There sat a slender and tall woman. She wore a wide-brimmed hat and a striking fiery red dress.
The brim of the hat concealed most of her face, leaving only a pair of captivating, fiery red lips
visible. Those lips looked as if they held the power to enchant the entire world.
At that moment, the lights above dimmed. Xavia, dressed in a pristine white gown, gracefully took
the stage. However, Chloe had clearly stolen the spotlight, outshining even the main performer who
was in a designer dress.
Fans suddenly felt that Xavia''s performance wasckluster as she had a tendency to favor in-
colored dresses. While elegant, itcked a certain element of novelty, causing the audience to grow
somewhat disinterested and tired of it.
Though Xavia sensed theck of enthusiasm from the crowd and felt confused, she remained
composed as she began to y. As the piece came to a close, the response from the audience was
tepid at best and the apuse was sparse. Just as she began to question if her skills had somehow
declined, the cameraman''s focus shifted to the audience, and Chloe''s image appeared on the big
screen.
Xavia instantly noticed Chloe. Her hands holding her violin trembled and she abruptly stopped
ying. Her face disyed shock, panic, anger, and a sea of other emotions.
Chloe lifted the brim of her hat to reveal her face as she gazed at Xavia with a look of amusement
as if watching a y.
The orchestra beside Xavia continued to y. Somewhat puzzled, they whispered to Xavia, "Keep
going. Don''t stop."
