    Catelyn immediately made a silent gesture to him. She looked around as she lowered her voice. Luckily,

    She whispered to Miles, “Don’t forget what I said to you on the phone. You should treat me as your


    employee, and don’t mention anything else about me taking you home. Do you understand?”

    burst ofughter from a distance greeted him. It seemed to havee from the living room.


    There, Miles had taken off his shoes and sat on the sofa, cross-legged, with a storybook on his
